Luxury two bedroom apartment within the 5 star Alto Country Club, one of the premier Resorts in the Algarve. This large elevated first floor, fully furnished, air conditioned apartment is conveniently located within the resort which is set around stunningly landscaped tropical gardens. Spacious and well appointed the apartment offers guests quality and very comfortable accommodation. WIFI is also installed in the apartment. It is a 5 minute walk into the quaint fishing village of Alvor which has many excellent restaurants and bars. The superb sandy beach at Alvor is a 10 minute walk from the Country Club. Alto guests have access to sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach situated in front of Restinga Restaurant. The apartment will appeal to families, couples and golfers alike. The Country Club where the Apartment is located has a wide range of on site facilities including outdoor and indoor pools, gym, tennis, Cottons Restaurant and Bar.

About the Owner

My name is Siobhan and I am married to Seamus and live in Dublin with our three children. We have been holidaying in the Algarve for over 20 years and once we visited Alvor we knew we had found the perfect holiday centre for ourselves, family and friends. We purchased our Apartment in 2005. We chose Alto because of its facilities, the quality and fit of the apartment and the beautiful and well maintained gardens. But most of all it was the location. Alto is close enough to walk to the village and the beach while remaining a haven of tranquility. We have equipped our Apartment as our second home and update it yearly. We visit often and always look forward to each visit and are sad to leave. Our ambition is for visitors to enjoy Alto and Alvor as much as we do.

Fabulous apartment in gorgeous complex...We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in July. Attention to detail in finishing of this apartment is top class. Kitchen so well equipped, 2 beautiful bathrooms with best power showers we have ever had on holidays, fabulous spacious living area, beautifully decorated bedrooms,wide expansive balcony to relax on...what more could we need!

Alto Club is a fabulous complex, quiet at pool ...no messing or loud music. Our daughters aged 10 and 8 loved all the added extras on the complex.

Siobhán was an absolute pleasure to deal with, completely accomodating.

Would highly recommend a stay here.

Walking distance to village of Alvor and nearby superb sandy beaches.


The nearest airport is Faro which is served by many low cost Airlines including Ryanair and Easy Jet. Alvor is about 60 kms from Faro and the journey can be completed on a high quality motorway in 45/50 minutes. Airport transfers can be arranged for about €60 for up to 4 persons. Car hire is not necessary at Alto.


Local amenities and shops are within walking distance of the Apartment.

Further Details:

Attractions: slide and splash, near lagoa, is about a 20 minute drive from the apartment, and zoomarine with dolphins and amusements, near guia, about a 35 minute drive are wonderful family entertainment. Out and about: lagos is a beautiful town, and is about twenty minutes drive away. There is a good selection of shops, as well as lots of bars and restaurants. The yacht marina is an attractive recent addition to the town. Portimao is more of a commercial centre than a tourist town, but has recently smartened up its waterside areas and is well worth a visit. If anything the shops here are better and more varied than in lagos. Look out for the pedestrianised streets as this is where most of the good shops are. Praia da Rocha has one of the best beaches on the algarve, but has been a little bit over developed some years ago. However, if you are looking for some lively night life, this is the place to come. It is a cheap taxi ride from the apartment at alto. Between Praia da Rocha and Portimao is a marina, which is surrounded by recently built bars and restaurants. Monchique is a pretty market town about 1,500 above sea level and is well known for its traditional handicrafts. Monichique’s backdrop is the slope of the sierra de monichique which in spring and summer has an abundance of colour. Cape st vincent is the most westerly point in europe, and reputedly has the most powerful lighthouse in europe. This bit of coastline is on a par with the cliffs of moher for magnificent, rugged coastal scenery. Take a coat, when the wind blows, there is nothing but ocean between you and america! Sagres is the last town on the road west towards cape st vincent. There are some nice beaches here, but the main attraction is the fortress of henry the navigator, parts of which date back to the 15th century.
