About Liz Platts

I live in France with my partner, Harry our 3 year old Weimaraner, Robinson the cat, 12 horses, several sheep and chickens. We purchased the farm in 2006 and between us we have spent the last 10 years renovating.

Liz Platts purchased this barn in 2006

Why Liz Platts chose Finistere

We love Brittany because of the fantastic countryside and opportunities for walking, riding, canoeing and fishing, perfect for people, who like us, love the outdoors. There are many beautiful beaches in the area, to the south, west and north, the closest being only 30 minutes drive away, with a fantastic restaurant on the beach and a large marina.

What makes this barn unique

The gite and the stables are situated in the grounds of our farm so there is always somebody on hand to help or offer advise if needed. However the gite and the stables are far enough away from the farm house so that our guests can be as private as they wish. The farm is situated in a beautiful and tranquil setting in 30 acres of land in 'les montagnes noir' or Black Mountains, 3km from the Nantes-Brest canal and 2km from the nearest shop.

Lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable place to stay in a very quiet rural location which we found ideally located to explore South West Brittany.

The Stables had everything we needed for our two week stay and the weather was remarkably good, making for a very relaxng holiday.

The bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival was very welcome as were the gourd, cucumber and tomatoes!

We enjoyed Harry's company at breakfast and supper times!

Our useful tip - dont drive from Calais on a French bankholiday weekend!

Thank you Liz, Grahame and Harry.

Great location

  • 4 of 5

The property is in a great location for touring Brittany and is situated in a picturesque, rural setting. The kitchen was modern, clean and well equipped. The bedroom was large and comfortable. The bathroom had a walk-in shower and water was always hot. There was good access to the internet.

Nice Accommodation in Great Location

  • 4 of 5

May 2016 - We had a lovely week staying in the stables with fantastic views of the countryside. The accommodation is very nice & spacious the only disappointing aspect was the seating in the lounge area which consisted of two rather uncomfortable wooden armchairs it would therefore benefit from more comfortable armchairs or sofas.

Also when we arrived as it was early in season it was quite cold & there was no heating in the lounge.

Having said that we would definitely stay here again.
