Guestbook comments from the owner

9-4 August 2011 (Visitors from the UK) - Thank you for the hospitality of your gite, we have enjoyed our stay here very much, the scenery, quiet roads, easy pace of life and kindness of folk. We four had a lovely time here, and wish you well in the future. Good Wishes.

31 July - 9 August (visitor from Spain) - Thank you so much for having given me the chance of staying at your place. It's been a great relaxing 10 days, spending time outdoors and enjoying your company. I hope to see you in the future and wish you well for the coming year. With all best wishes.

5-21 April 2011 (Visitor from the UK) - Thanks ever so much for a great stay and for you warmth and generosity. It was a real treat to spend time outdoors, instead of being glued to a computer, and the gite is a lovely place to collapse at the end of the day. You've settled in a beautiful part of the world, perfect for riding, I hope to return one day.

Pretty gite in a lovely and convenient spot

  • 4 of 5

Warm welcome from friendly hosts for us, and from their dogs for our dog. A pretty cottage in a stunning countryside location. Bottle of local cider and a Breton cake waiting for us. Cottage is easy travelling distance of south, west and north coasts in West Brittany. Hosts' recommendation of restaurant was spot on. Local towns interesting. A very peaceful, getaway-from-it-all holiday destination ideal for staying put in the secluded garden or visiting local places or those a little further away. We would recommend this cottage to anyone, including friends and relatives, wanting a quiet place to stay in a beautiful setting. If you're looking for nightlife, look elsewhere!

Relaxing stay at Ker Herve

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the beautiful gite, It was a great location for us with 3 dogs, as the walks surrounding the gite were easily accessible. We enjoyed lighting the wood stove in the evening, especially as the weather was not too kind to us. It was a good base also, to many beautiful places. I would recommend this gite to anyone as the hosts were very friendly and on the door if need be.

A perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Ker Herve is a traditional old farm in the Black Mountains of Brittany. It is a beautiful location in peaceful countryside, but not far from the historic city of Quimper. The farm buildings have been converted into comfortable accommodation, with pretty gardens all around. The nearby town of Chateauneuf de Fou has a wonderful canal where you can hire bicycles and cycle for miles along a easy track. There is a clean local swimming pool that is great for kids, and some wonderful restaurants in the town and by the canal. It is a very peaceful part of Brittany, away from the main tourist centres but with lots to offer - and Ker Herve is the perfect place to base a stay in the this part of France.

Beautiful Gite in a peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful few days at the Gite. Lizzie was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The Gite itself was really well equipped, private, peaceful, and located in a stunning setting. We loved it here and hope to return!

Facilities

From the Owner

The gite and the stables are situated in the grounds of our farm so there is always somebody on hand to help or offer advise if needed. However the gite and the stables are far enough away from the farm house so that our guests can be as private as they wish. The farm is situated in a beautiful and tranquil setting in 30 acres of land in 'les montagnes noir' or Black Mountains, 3km from the Nantes-Brest canal and 2km from the nearest shop.
