Jupiter Lodge is a modern detached lodge, double glazed with central heating and equipped to a high standard. A wonderful base to both explore the beauty of Bodmin Moor and to enjoy country pursuits, it is also within a 30 minute drive of the lovely south coast beaches. Two public houses serving good food are within 1.5 miles, The Manor Inn at Rilla Mill and The Caradon at Upton Cross where there is also a Post Office and General Store. The market town of Liskeard is 15 minutes by car. Siblyback Lake, 6 miles, offers angling and a water sports, and salmon and trout fishing is also available on local rivers. There are riding stables, clay pigeon shooting grounds (professional tuition available) and golf courses in the area. Onsite, there is an astronomical observatory currently under development. Jupiter Lodge is endorsed by ‘Quality in Cornwall’ which is approved by ’Visit Cornwall’s official Tourist Board’.

Lovely lodge & location. Peaceful, unspoilt views & within easy reach of beaches or attractions such as Eden project etc. The attention to detail was great...Everything from tea bags to toiletries! The layout with 3 bathrooms made it very easy for 2 families holidaying together. The accessibility was especially handy for us ( downstairs bedroom & wet room). Wifi was a little hit & miss due to the rural area, but it mostly worked for our needs.

Wonderful welcome from Ken & Muriel. We would happily stay again!

We purchased Jupiter Lodge on the fringes of Bodmin Moor to have riding holidays there with our horses. It has a paddock and stabling which is ideal for us. Jupiter Lodge not only has good accommodation, which instantly appealed to us when we first saw it, but is also a great place from which to explore Cornwall on or off horseback ! It is enjoyed by all of our three daughters !

Activities in the area include riding stables and clay pigeon shooting with professional tuition available.

On-site, there is a unique astronomical observatory currently under development.

The Lodge has stabling for two horses and a paddock and, by arrangement, guests can bring their own horses for a riding holiday. It is about a 15 minute hack to the open moorland of Bodmin Moor.

Coast/Beach:

The south Cornwall coast with the sandy beaches of Looe and Seaton are a 30 minute drive away, as is the Eden Project.

We enjoy the stunning views from the Lodge and walking and riding in the surrounding countryside and on the moor. We also enjoy walking to the local pub, The Manor Inn at Rilla Mill, and going to Stert's open air theatre in Upton Cross, just up the road !

  • Notes on accommodation: No smoking in the lodge is permitted. Electricity and central heating are included. Sorry, - no pets allowed. Outside: Outside to the front is a sheltered sun terrace with splendid far-reaching views. A barbecue and patio dining set is provided. Adjacent is a paddock with stabling for two horses, and guests, by arrangement, may bring their own horses on holiday with them. The paddock also provides a good play area for older children. The Lodge has adequate off-road parking directly outside the Lodge for several vehicles. Utility Room: There is no separate utility room with the washing machine integrated into the kitchen. There is a washing line outside for drying clothes. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels are included. The Lodge will be cleaned at changeovers. Clean bed linen will be provided each week for longer stay guests.
