Amazing hidden treasure

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over the 2017 Christmas period for 9 Nights in this delightful 1 bed cottage with our Bichon Rufus, when we arrived we were very happy to see that Paul and Debbie had gone to the effort of putting up a lovely real Christmas tree which made the whole place feel festive , they had also pre prepared the wood burner so all that was required was a match to get it started which was very welcome as it was about 2 degrees when we arrived.

Our hosts had also left a luxury welcome pack which contained, bottle of beer, red wine, butter, cheese, tea, coffee, museli, Christmas biscuits, milk, (think that's it) Oh some Quality street ;-)

The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and very spacious for a 1 bed with tons of storage, the kingsize bed was very comfortable with views over the garden, there was lots of additional bedding, quilts and pillows so will please everybody.

Kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay and a first for us was that we cooked every night and had everything we needed (maybe an extra tea towel)

Bathroom and shower worked perfectly for our needs

Lounge was well kitted out with a 3 seater sofa and an armchair , wood burner as stated with a good stock of logs and a huge telly with hdmi connections so i could connect my firestick through it , good wifi with a fairly strong signal which won't leave you wanting .

The location of this place is great as it's central so you can easily reach the coast or the national parks , we did the Seahouses to Bamburgh beach walk and back on Christmas eve and it was amazing , also visited holy island (recommend) , Berwick, Cragside at Rothbury (amazing walking in the grounds), Alnwick, (great selection of shops and supermarkets )

All in all this was our first time in Northumberland and has quickly become our favourite place in England so far and the stay at Paul and Debbie's gaff added to the quality of our holiday so thanks guys and we'll see you in the near future.

Lovely cosy cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Dogdaisy cottage is a wonderful cosy place to stay. I cannot fault it at all. Everything you need, clean and tidy with a generous welcome basket. Bed so comfy and the log burner ideal on chilly evenings although the storage heaters gave off plenty of heat. They worked much better than other storage heaters we have experienced in other holiday lets. Enclosed garden ideal for our dog Zac. The summer house would be great in the summer time. Lovely quiet location and central for the coast and countryside. Would definitely recommend and we will visit again.

We had a great four night stay in this comfortable cottage. Everything you will need for the stove which was lovely to come back to after days out. The garden is very pretty and we had enough sunshine to appreciate the quietness and privacy it gave. Visited a few places Alnwick including the castle and gardens well worth a visit. Seahouses and nearby beaches. All the reviews certainly persuaded us of the positives to choosing Dog Daisy Cottage and we were not disappointed. There is more to see nearby and we will be back next year for sure.
