Wedding getaway
From booking the communication process was excellent and we had all our questions answered so quickly. When we arrived at the house, everything was as expected and we just loved the place! It was suitable for all of our needs and we were so comfortable here for the ten nights. We also organised our wedding ceremony to take place in the gardens and it was absolutely perfect for the occasion. We had our close family and friends over from Scotland and the house was the most outstanding backdrop for the wedding! We had an excellent stay here and would absolutely recommend it!

Family holiday
The house is a restoration triumph. Really sensitively done to provide ample space for a large family.... we were 9 in total. The bedroom layout was great for 4 couples with a twin room for the solo! I was worried about the size of the pool for 7 energetic young adults but it was more than adequate. There is plenty to do a little further afield so we took the opportunity to go to St Tropez (busy and over-priced) would recommend St Maxine which is even closer. Lac du St Croix at the end of the Verdon Gorge was a great day out. We all enjoyed getting "home" where we cooked most evenings, probably the best equipped kitchen we've ever come across. It was lovely sitting out together with amazing views of Roquebrune hill/mountain as a backdrop. The weather was amazing 30 degrees plus. We would highly recommend. The only slight issue was the mosquitoes and we'd not prepared properly. If you use repellant they weren't an issue but would suggest use day one and not on day 2!!!! All in all we had a thoroughly relaxing holiday in a beautiful house.

Sun in the South
A beautiful area of France where there was plenty to do. Swimming and kayaking on the lakes, cycling around the area, visiting the local towns, seeing the fireworks at Cannes and so much more!!! The property was perfect for two families and had everything that you could possibly need. Beautiful gardens and plenty of space to sit out and a pool to relax around. Gorgeous views. Thank you.

Wonderful accomodation and great location.
We stayed at the farmhouse in the last week in July. There were 5 adults, two teenagers and a 3 year old in on our trip. It's a fantastic house and Edward and Melinda have done an amazing job of restoring it. All the rooms were lovely and more than adequately equipped and there is aircon in most of the bedrooms. The kitchen has all the equipment you need and a great outside dining area with beer fridge and BBQ. We loved the pool and garden space. We borrowed bikes and could have used the kayaks but were too comfortable around the pool. The bakery is a nice 15 min walk away in town. The location is great as there is a water sport lake 10 mins walk if that down the road, a river which is great for kayaking and lots of supermarkets a short drive away. There is a mountain at the other end of the lake which is good for mountain bikes. You are 20 mins away from the great beaches and an hours drive inland to the stunning Gorge Du Verdon. A fantastic holiday and a hidden gem.

About the host

Host profile image
I live and work on our farm here in France, where we grow organic vegetables. We moved here in 2002 to work on a small farm, and then decided to stay and create something of our own. My wife, myself and our two teenagers have all been working to restore and develop this fantastic place into a comfortable and peaceful family home.

Why they chose this property

The property was an old vineyard, which had been left derelict for many years. It has plenty of land and space , with fantastic views all around , which is what enticed me to buy the place and restore the existing bastide...a monumental task which has really become something beautiful and satisfying. We love the area with its rugged terrain and rock formations. It also offers the conveniences of the nearby village and shopping areas, with great access to the beaches and motorway, which pleases my wife!

What makes this property unique

You will enjoy the rural beauty of the farm land, which gives the impression of being very remote. There are many attractions for nature lovers, ramblers and sportsmen, as well as entertainment at the nearby lake for the kids. The beautiful Argens river runs alongside part of the property, offering wonderful bird life and a tranquil canoe ride in the evening.

A great review I want to include, which says it all:
Hello Edward, we are so sorry we haven't written a review yet. Now, according to the system, the deadline has expired. Is there any way to write something?

That would be our text:
We spent a wonderful week in this idyllic place. The house is tastefully and lovingly furnished, with great attention to detail. Everything was wonderfully coordinated and you immediately feel at home when you enter the house. The garden is quiet and well-kept with lots of cozy places to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The place is a bit hidden, a breal hideaway, but you can still get everything you need (restaurants and shops) in a couple of minutes by car.
We would love to come back and can recommend the accommodation without exception.

Best regards
Markus
