About Carol Susan Fazakerley

Hi, my name is Carol, my name is Paul.

We have owned Pistoulet these past ten years, during which time we have lovingly restored the property to new glory.

We feel truly blessed to be here and more than happy to be able to share our good fortune with our guests

Carol Susan Fazakerley purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Carol Susan Fazakerley chose Saint-Jean-d'Angely area

We chose Charente Maritime originally for our holiday home because access to and from England was easy and of course its famous long hours of sunshine, beautiful countryside and unspoilt coast line.

What makes this cottage unique

We enjoy the peacefulness and the beautiful grounds and the fact that we are a short drive from three historical market towns.

Superb & Idyllic

  • 5 of 5

We arrived later than anticipated at Pistoulet where upon we were greeted by our wonderful hosts, Carol & Paul, who had kindly prepared our evening meal (including a fabulous Tiramisu) plus, just as importantly, a delicious bottle of red wine. Our two tired munchkins soon forgot the long journey and settled into holiday mode in our relaxed surroundings.

Our cottage was a lovely, clean and spacious home with every facility that you would need for a relaxing holiday.

The large, walled garden was absolutely fantastic for our two children to play in which was made even more private by the imposing gates. The children were definitely spoilt for choice between the pool, the bikes and an assortment of games but the pool certainly won in the end!

Whether you had breakfast or your evening barbecue outside on the terrace; you had extra guests to feed in the form of chickens who later rewarded us with fresh eggs.

Carol & Paul were extremely helpful with their vast knowledge of the area, plus the local markets and places to visit. They were a very nice couple to get to know and share a glass of wine or three.

We would highly recommend Pistoulet for a relaxing holiday and to make special memories.

Carol and Paul are wonderful hosts, warm welcoming, with great advice on local trips out. Great location and amazing accommodation set within a walled garden. Fantastic for children to run around.

We had a fabulous relaxed stay and we all thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks, so much so that we are looking to rebook for next year.

Thanks Carol and Paul
