An hour from the Eden you can find the delights of Marbella with up market shopping and restaurants, El Torcal with mystical rock formations and Antequera steeped in history. Eden is a perfect location to come together with your family, friends and enjoy what inland Spain has to offer.

About Susan Roberts

Eden is our holiday home in Spain. We live in the UK but have enjoyed many years holidaying in the Alora sun. We have employed a property management company based locally in Alora, who supply a superior service maintaining Eden and organising all the bookings. You can expect all your requirements to be dealt with both prior to your arrival and a 24 hr contact and support service whilst you are staying in the villa. It is for that reason we decided to offer Eden as a rental villa to guests, as we know we can supply a beautiful villa perfect for your sunshine retreat.

Why Susan Roberts chose Álora

We decided on Alora as we had friends who had relocated to this area and we enjoyed visiting them on many occasions. We sourced the plot of land and instructed an experienced local builder to build the villa. Having visited the area many times we knew we wanted to thoroughly enjoy and make use of the outside space. The beauty of the region is the glorious long sunny days and sunsets over the mountains in the distance. We have captured this with the outdoor kitchen, outdoor lounge area, recreation areas, swimming pool and terraces. Stunning views are available from any of these outdoor areas. The plot is a short drive from the main road so access is good, yet tucked into the hillside, the villa offers you seclusion, peace and tranquillity, the perfect ingredients for a relaxing break.

What makes this villa unique

Eden is very convenient for access to the main Malaga A357 road, as it is located on the east side of town. It is unnecessary to negotiate driving through Alora village to exit the area, thus making journey times much quicker. The villa and grounds are completely fenced in and entrance to the property is through electric security gates. The management company are located 10 mins from the property and can easily attend the villa if you require assistance. One of the unique points of the villa is that outdoor and indoor spaces are completely flat. This gives peace of mind to parents with younger children, as there are no steps to negotiate. Equally the elderly and infirm have the ability to move around the areas with ease.

The Villa was exceptional, everything as described and more. We have stayed at a few different places over the years and this was voted the best by everyone. Young ones 16 and 12 year olds did not want to go home. Also plenty of places to visit and within easy reach of the two nearby villages with restaurants to suit all tastes.

Eden is literally on the boundary of pizarra and alora and is placed perfectly for access to both towns. Outside: Private pool with Roman steps into the water,2 fixed parasols around the pool area and 4 sun loungers and a 2 person day bed. Large imprinted concrete area for recreation. Swing chair with shade cover. Pergola offering excellent shade with outdoor sofas with seating for 6. Outdoor kitchen with built in charcoal BBQ, several dining areas, breakfast patio attached to kitchen, concrete road access. Beautifully maintained Mediterranean gardens with colourful plants all year round. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and house towels are provided. There is also a selection of beach towels for pool use. Clean linen is provided for every new booking and property clean and linen change takes place every 7 days throughout your stay. Other: Outdoor kitchen and BBQ area alongside the pool and recreation area. Outdoor kitchen has a built in BBQ, a gas cooker, sink, fridge/freezer and dining tables. Fantastic break

The villa is in a beautiful location, as good as the pictures look. It is private, the pool area is very spacious, with ample beds for pool and seating for eating. The villa is extremely well stocked which is nice as have been to places where you struggle, you will want for nothing here. Outside cooking area is a bonus (we only used that). There were only 2 of us so we had more than enough living area and it would comfortably suit up to 6 people. The real bonus is Sue who really is on hand to help and impart local knowledge (thanks again !) and you should take advantage of the quad bike tour she runs, great fun. The village of Alora is close by and very nice. Caminito Del Rey is a must, but book in advance and a drive to Seville is very worthwhile. Thanks Sue we had a lovely time, Andrew and Alyson.

Not as expected

We have been renting properties in Spain for many years and Alora, in particular, for over 5 years. And in all that time we have never had to leave a bad review. It then came as a shock to us our experience of Casa Eden. The photos were obviously taken a good few years back and sadly the villa is tired and in need of some TLC. On arrival we found the fridge to be filthy the freezer compartments full of previous guest’s food, and badly frozen up, of which I managed to defrost two, but gave up on the third. The washing machine was full of wet pool towels that I hung out to dry. We also had to clean all the filters in the dishwasher in order be able to use it. The swimming pool was cloudy and in need of a good clean. In the first week we went out to dinner with friends from Alora and returned at around midnight. We locked the back door after we came in, leaving the car keys, mobiles and money on the table in the lounge. As the night was a little cold we both went out the front door at the pool area to take in our towels, the door closed behind us locking us out. A night spent on pool loungers is not our idea of fun to say the least, and as the electric gates to the villa didn’t work we were quite worried who or what could walk in. We set off walking at dawn to see if we could find someone in the neighbouring villas to help us, which we did. They managed to get in touch with the caretaker, who even after being told we had been out all night, informed our Good Samaritan that she would not get to us until 12pm…..!!! As the keys were in the locks of both doors she could not open either. Her husband cut the bars off the toilet window, through which she climbed to let us in. As this was not their fault she told us that we would be charged for the “service”. We were both appalled, the Front door near the pool has no outside handle, and no way of ensuring that it doesn’t lock if it closes…we have never come across this before, and no mention of this in the Villa notes. Supposing we had had a small child that we had put in their cot and this had happened…Just because as they quoted “this has not happened before” doesn’t mean it can’t happen. We did not pay a security deposit when we arrived, so we were continually pestered by email from the caretaker for payment for re welding the bars. When she visited the next week to clean the pool she was very off with us. We had requested the owners email address so that we could convey our concerns to them. The

Owner's Response: Having never given a managements response before to a review it is in my opinion the unfortunate side of offering a review service. When providing in the services sector today everything is pivotal on a 'GOOD REVIEW' it is often used as a tool to the favourable demands for problem incident's involving guests when infact common decency and sense is the better judge. If only villa owners were given an equal platform to review guests!. Rachel and john rowe I would like to address you by name as he, she and anonymous is in polite. Having read the review and I can only address the 3 honest and genuine facts as everything else it is wrapped up in are there to serve no other purpose than harm. Firstly we do provide ice creams and ice cubes in the welcome pack, it has never been cause for complaint, these were not previous guest 'leftovers' but were provided for you and as you did consume and use them we are pleased you felt they were there to be used secondly I stand by my actions of requesting the nominal fee of 50 euros to go towards covering the cost of gaining entry and repair after you locked yourself out the villa. Sometimes in life you have to accept responsibility for your actions. Having an evening out with friends and returning to the villa and having a few more on the patio is only to be expected you are on holiday, however if you realise in the early hours of the morning you have managed to lock all the house keys, car keys mobile phone in the villa it is nobody else's fault but your own, but all that said there is no blame required these things happen. We came to your assistance the moment we were notified by the elderly neighbour ,I consoled you and reassured you we didn't have any problems and encouraged you to laugh about the whole incident you were also advised at this point that the only charge would be for repairs which you was full of gratitude for. And finally I did send you 2 emails trying to arrange collection of the outstanding 50 euros after having failed to be at the villa at the arranged times. We did try to collect the requested security deposit on arrival but you stated you didn't have the available cash or budget and against my better judgement i waivered it. This negative review is as you promised when you finally paid. I reflect on all my previous guest comments for genuine feedback as I hope future clients will also do.

Outdoor Living

I stayed at the vila as a member of a party of six (three couples, mid 30's) and we had the most wonderful holiday.

The best thing about the vila is the outdoor space - where we spent most of our time. The pool is huge and the outdoor kitchen is fully functional - we had everything we needed. Because the vila is quite secluded, you don't need to worry about making noise at night and the wifi works brilliantly. We used it to stream music and catch up on TV when the blazing sun got a bit much for us!

Only the living room has aircon so it can get a bit stuffy at night in the bedrooms. If you can take a spare fan, do (but this is no reason to stay away - honestly).

Susan was wonderful: she gave us some great tips and advice and although we didn't need her services other than at check-in / check-out, we knew how to get hold of her if we needed to.

To summarise, it's the perfect location for a chilled out, eating and drinking holiday with friends.

Exactly what we were looking for!

Eden Alora was everything we were looking for, rural, peaceful, yet within driving distance of everything we needed.

The accommodation was clean, well equipped and good for people with mobility issues,everything on one level. Excellent wi fi for our teenage daughter! We spent most of our time around the pool, very useful outside area, BBQ and outside kitchen .

Alora provided everything for your day to day needs, supermarket, restaurants etc..and excellent scenery near by, try the quad safari,brilliant day out.

Susan was wonderful , rescuing us when we were lost on our first day!

A lovely villa near a typically Spanish town , for those who are looking for a typical Spanish holiday

Eden was the perfect villa, loads of space, the outside kitchen and lounge area just made it for us, and although it was lovely inside too, we spent most of the time even cooking outside. It was everything that we needed for a nice relaxing and secluded holiday. Susan was so helpful, advising us on where to go and what to do. Would highly recommend it and can't wait to go back!

Special interest holidays:

Activity based holidays are very popular in the inland regions. One particular interest are the eco jeep tours. This is an opportunity to view the El Chorro and Ronda regions from the landrover with a local guide who can offer info re the area, cuisine, culture and agriculture with the vast olive and citrus groves.

We also can provide a birding/walking guide with vast knowledge of the regions birdlife.

Quad biking half or full days taking you into the Sierra Huma regions of El Chorro to witness the wildlife close at hand and spectacular views.

Fishing trips with a local guide using a boat going out onto the Ardales lakes fishing for black bass, carp, pike.

Ceramic pottery day course, produce your own pot to take home.

Mountain bikes can be hired with or without guide.


The nearest beaches start from the Malaga coastline of Churriana this is approx 35 mins in car. Marbella/Fuengirola/Benalmadena are approx 1 hour from Eden.

Churriana beach offers a local life with chringiuitos beachside restaurants with vast fish menus and a constant supply of sardines on outside charcoals.

Marbella/Puerto Banus offer an upmarket location with Gucci, Ralph Lauren and high end designer shopping. The marina of Puerto Banus also offers nightlife in abundance.


Malaga airport is the nearest. Approx 35 mins form the property.

Car hire companies operate out of the airport so collecting a car is very easy.

There is also a train link from Malaga airport through to Alora. If you would like details regarding timetable or to arrange a train station pick up please mention in enquiry. Airport taxi/shuttle can be arranged to collect and return from the airport.


By car - Alora 10 mins, Pizarra 7 mins, Malaga airport 35 mins, nearest restaurant 3 mins, train station 7 mins, Antequera 1 hr, Ronda 1 hr, Marbella 1hr, Gibralter 2 hrs.

Further Details:

Local shops are very traditional offering a community spirit. many with locally produced goods and foods. Local restaurants offer a vast selection with each establishment specialising in a particular field. Abilios, a restaurant in Alora is run by two brothers, has a small menu offering excellent steaks. Los Caballos have spit roast chickens to take away. Conejitos offer a vast Sunday lunch menu with fish high on the list. In Alora and Pizarra town there are also 2 large supermarkets for all your provisions.

Changeover Day:
We do not specify a changeover date. We can be flexible to amount of days required, so we ask that you email us with your requirements. Arrival time at the villa is no earlier than 4pm and departure from the villa no later than 10am. During the peak season we do request a Saturday to Saturday booking is required but please email for final decision.

Notes on prices:

We Require a £200 breakages deposit payable in the final balance and refunded within 14 days after departure.
