Château Villevoisin provides the best of all worlds - modern comforts, character features, panoramic views, totally private but easily accessible

Situated in a quiet, private, rural location with 360° uninterrupted panoramic views of undulating countryside punctuated only by the changing colours of the surrounding woodland. It provides unique 4* accommodation combining luxury modern home comforts with character period features. Our guests can relax and enjoy the 30 acres of gardens and woodland walks or take a dip in the outdoor heated swimming pool.

The château provides a special environment to celebrate and impress, for family, friends or business. It is available as a gîte, or for special events such as weddings and seminars. With the addition of a marquee it is possible to accommodate extra numbers up to 120 (discreet parking area incorporated). Otherwise more intermit numbers between 15- 30 people can be catered for within the chateau. With the adjacent longère the 2 properties can sleep up to 30 people. Meals can be prepared on site by us using fresh local seasonal produce.

Recently renovated, the property boasts all the benefits of modern technology, under-floor heating and hot water system powered by an energy efficient heat exchange system, high standards of insulation, double glazing etc. without compromising the period features that have been restored such as the exposed beams and stone work, chimneys and fire places. The addition of oak parquet flooring and doors, the travertine bathrooms with power showers, access to wifi, French and English TV and the games room enhances it further.

About the Owner

We are a family business that moved to Brittany in 2008. We ran a 4 star holiday cottage and B&B business near Loch Ness Scottish Highlands for 14 years. We were lucky to find an exceptional location in France with beautiful buildings full of character to renovate. We wanted to create a special and private place for family and friends to stay, enjoy each others company, perhaps celebrate a special occassion, without infringing on each others privacy. We have tried to achieve this by providing comfortable and spacious reception rooms & ensuite bedrooms. With the longère already running successfully, we hope with the completion of the joining château, the 2 can be run together to accommodate up to 30 people, with the possibility of hiring a fully serviced marquee in the gardens.

Gorgeous Place to Stay

Our family stayed here for 3 weeks. Great place to base ourselves for visiting the towns and villages in Brittany. It is close to a motorway to get to the bigger towns easy, but there were loads of smaller villages nearby that were just adorable.

The Longere is lovely, comfortable and well decorated and there is a lovely view from the table in the garden. Being able to use the pool at the Chateau is a plus on a hot day. A very peaceful and pretty place to stay. Would recommend to anyone.

We arrived late in the evening and Liz had organised food for us which was lovely. Liz and Colin are nearby if you need anything - not that we wanted for anything, but they kept in touch to make sure we were ok.

An enjoyable stay in a wonderful property and peaceful setting.

Quite exceptional

Exceptional - We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with our family. In all eight adults and seven children under ten. The Chateau and pool could not have suited our family better.

There are some medieval villages close by with some good restaurants and plenty of walking and cycling opportunities.

Great stay

We had a really great stay at Ville Voisin and even dined at the Chateau on Monday night which was a fantastic experience.

Ville Voisin is in easy reach of all the best sites and we particularly enjoyed going out to the island of Ile Aux Moines and cycling around it.

Liz and her family are all lovely and make you feel very welcome.

The facilities are fantastic with an outdoor pool and table tennis (which our family may have taken a bit too seriously insisting on a week long ping pong tournament!). Can't recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic Family Getaway

This was a beautiful place for myself and family to stay. There was 10 of us altogether and everyone thought theLlongere was fantastic. The interior of the house was of the highest standard. The bedrooms were all ensuite and the kitchen/diner was massive. The weather wasnt up to much the week we stayed but there are plenty of things to see and do in the area. We hired bikes, went kayaking, on pedalos, to a wildlife park and took a trip to vannes. Had the sun been shining we would have stayed around the gorgeous pool area. The property was clean and well maintained. Our children could watch English tv in the evenings whilst the adults sat outside on the large patio area. There was also table tennis and a darts board. I loved the fact there was a washing machine which meant we could keep dirty clothes to a minimum. I would definitely recommend this property to others and we will certainly be returning in the future. Thank you Liz and family for such a wonderful place to stay

Great Brickhill, Bucks

Birthdays and Anniverary

Three generations of our family, eight adults and four children spent an excellent week at La Voisin celebrating two birthdays and an anniversary. The accommodation fully met the description and is ideal for a large group. It comprises six double bedrooms (two with three single beds) all with their own en-suite facilities. There is a large games room a large lounge and an equally large well fitted kitchen. Outside there is a heated swimming pool which is large enough for a decent swim and a terrace for al fresco dining. The owner lives on site in the adjacent chateau and proved very helpful with advice and information both before and during our stay. A few miles away near Ploermel there is the recreational Lac du Duc where you can swim, canoe, sail, fish or simply sit on the large beach. The area is wooded and ideal for walking or cycling along quiet country lanes and a disused railway line. About an hours drive away lies the medieval town of Vennes, well worth a visit, and a further thirty minutes takes you to good safe beaches. All in all I would highly recommend La Voisin for a large family gathering or an entirely adult group looking for a quiet location.

perfect for family group

The listing was accurate but we think a floor plan would also be useful for allocating bedrooms beforehand. the property was clean and well appointed with kitchen and eating requirements. the owners were most helpful suggesting places to visit with small children.. eg lac au duc which has a nice beach and cafe, and close by. we wanted to visit car boot type sales and brocante shops, and they were able to point us to both. the brocante shop in augan was terrific and well worth a visit if you like sifting through junk for a treasure. The owners are very friendly and helpful, but leave you to your own devices. And the pool is perfect for children and adults. this is an amazing house , extremely spacious, with lovely bedrooms and en suites, and all our family would love to stay there again.

We are priviledged to live in a beautiful rural location with spectacular uninterrupted views of rolling countryside punctuated by the changing seasonal colours of the mixed woodland. Despite La Ville Voisin's unique and tranquil position it is just 4 minutes from the village of Augan, 15 minutes from the town of Ploermel and just 10 mins from the N24 linking us to Rennes and Vannes. La Ville Voisin has its' own historical chateau, a large garden and heated swimming pool, woodland with walkways and specimen trees and now with its' modern day 'makeover' it offers all the comforts of home, all it requires to be the perfect location is good company and perhaps a good bottle of wine too! All needs for history, culture and outdoor activities can be explored and found locally.

An ideal location for those that love walking, biking and riding because of the huge network of 'Voie Vert' (disused railway and canal routes eapecially adapted for unmotorised use). Anglers have the choice of many local lakes, rivers and waterways. Nearby Lac au Duc offers facilities for golfers, sailers, those who like water skiing and sailing and a special hortensia walk. From the Owner

Despite being able to offer the grounds and many of the facilities you would wish to have during your stay there are many additional activities that you can take part in close by. 1km towards Augan is the Rosaires, a stocked fishing lake, we are only a 'stones throw' away from the 'Voie Vert', a disused railway line now renovated specifically for non motorised use, i.e walkers, bikes and horses. At Ploermel we have lac au duc with the hortensia walk and the opportunity to fish, sail, canoe, water ski and play golf. We hope with the completion of the renovations of the chateau, that as well as B&B in the longere we will be able to extend our hospitality to include a unique venu to host special occassions, such as a family celebration or an important business event, as well as luxury B&B.
