About Ross Davidson

We're from Newcastle and have two children who are currently both in further education.

We initially bought Fell View in order to have more family holidays in an area we absolutely love going to.

We can drive to Sedbergh in two hours which is close enough to let us have long weekends there or simply pop over for the day.

We've got some very fond memories and wonderful pictures of our children playing in and exploring the surrounding area.

We've always enjoyed going to Fell View and hope that our guests enjoy it as much as us.

Why Ross Davidson chose Kendal & South Lakes

We'd been going to Sedbergh for family holidays for years and really enjoyed being there.

It's about a two hour drive from home and quite easy to get to.

We decided to buy a holiday home for ourselves to allow us to spend more time and our holidays there.

We still use the house a lot ourselves when it isn't booked by other people.

We've been renting Fell View as a holiday let for eleven years and we're always particularly pleased when people who've been previously book for further visits.

What makes this house unique

Sedbergh is located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

It's easy to get to and is five miles from the M6.

It's a fantastic base for visiting the Dales or going across to the Lake District. Alternatively, there's plenty of lovely walks and countryside almost directly from the front door.

There's a great range of amenities in the town and a very good park close to the house.

Cozy, brilliantly equipped, fantastic location

One of the best holiday cottages I've stayed in. Large but cozy, definately the best equipped, great communication from Ross the owner. Amazing location, really felt like a home away from home. Thank you!

Ideal size for 5 and a few mins walk to the middle of the village.

great place to stay for local walking and big enough for 5. a few mins from a great walk up to the Winder and other walks nearby. only down side is car parking is a bit like playing a game of will i get a space near the house or in the next road over :) as the next road up is just a few mins walk it was ok.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to provide a comment. Fell View is a 19th century terrace house. I don't think the planners envisaged on street parking. So saying, we've owned the house for 17 years now and there's only been one occasion when I've not been able to park near the door. The availability of parking spaces varies during the day as people come and go from work and other activities. An ability to reverse park is a definite bonus.

Lovely location with amazing views of the fell.

Very cosy accommodation and great customer service from the owner who ensured the heating was on for such a chilly weekend.

Very good value and we all enjoyed the weekend.

Beautiful house in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This property has everything you could want for a relaxing break. The house is well maintained and was spotless upon our arrival. The garden and the view of the fell was spectacular. The location was great for visiting both the lakes and the fells and the village has everything a family could need, three pubs, takeaways, shops and cafe and a great park for the kids.

Booking the property was easy and the owner provided excellent customer service.

We can't wait to return!
