About the property

House in Lalinde, Bergerac, Dordogne Aquitaine, France - 3 Minutes From Lalinde And Walking Distance To Sauveboeuf Village

'La Tuiliere' has the feel of an exclusive country estate with electric gates and superb quality furniture and fittings, but with all amenities close by. Bergerac airport is twenty five minutes. The house has three/four bedrooms, TV room, three bathrooms (one en-suite) with separate toilets, a large kitchen diner, prep kitchen, utility room, and stunning living room with beams, original working fireplace and French doors overlooking the river. Also overlooking the river is the covered terrace leading off the master bedroom. There is a further terrace outside the kitchen with electric awning and table and chairs seating ten. In the five acres of grounds is a large secluded heated pool with sun loungers, a table tennis table, football goals and thirty fruit trees. This is a fishing paradise with the river at the front, the canal at the rear and a stream running through the grounds. Cycling is superb along the river or the miles of canal towpath at the rear.

Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming to France for 20 years and this is the best house we have ever stayed in. Stunning setting that the photos do not do justice to. Pool a fantastic temperature with ample loungers. Comfy beds and plenty of hot water. Lots to do and see in the area. Would highly recommend. Book it! You will not regret it.

An amazing week in Lalinde, on the Dordogne river.

  • 5 of 5

We just spent an amazing week in that property located between the Dordogne river, the canal and the creek running through the huge gorgeous backyard.

The house is very comfortable and offers memorable views over the river, especially from the master bedroom's patio, where we enjoyed a few of our romantic dinners.

The backyard is very large, includes large mature trees and many flowers that ended up as a daily magnificent bouquet in the kitchen. The property is located by the small town of Lalinde

that is very charming and offers a delightful and lively farmer's market on Thursdays.

Within a 30 mn drive, we had access to many of the spectacular Dordogne medieval villages, castles, caves and much more. We highly recommend the small village of Domme, way up on a hill, the views are breathtaking! Needless to say, the one hour boat cruise on the Dordogne

river is not to be missed! We are planning to be back next year and stay longer, as there are so many things to visit in the area. The pool and yard are pure heaven, just lay on the grass under one of the large trees, and listen to the birds...

Complete delight for runners, who can start jogging along the river or the canal right from the stone river house. Thank you to the owners for sharing their property, and thank you to the caretakers John and Sonia, who welcomed us the moment we arrived.

As we are back in the US now, my mind keeps wandering towards the Lalinde property, the ever so green magical yard, the river and the Castles of Dordogne.

Stunning with French Charm

  • 5 of 5

A local couple, Sonya and Jon, checked us into the house and were very helpful with the local knowledge of restaurants and where to go. We stayed for a week in September and were completely overwhelmed with the charm of the house and its stunning views of the river.

The kitchen is fully equipped and just outside the kitchen door is the patio with BBQ and table and chairs. Inside is very comfortable and well furnished to a modern standard. Amazingly though, it still maintains it character, due to the large fireplace in the lounge and also the thought into the way the house is furnished.

We were very relaxed sitting in the lounge in the cool September evenings but equally so outside during the day. The garden is very large and well maintained with many fruit trees. The pool is a good size and long enough to swim some lengths.

My favourite place is the terrace outside the main bedroom. The morning views of the river and wildlife are especially tranquil. At sunset, it's the best place to relax with a glass of wine and listen to the fish jumping and be quick enough to see them!!

Thoroughly recommend it and will hopefully go there again!

Such a beautiful house with amazing grounds

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in the October half term with my 2 children and my parents. We had just a wonderful week relaxing. The house is very homely and fully equipped. My children had a wonderful time exploring the grounds and playing and they even went in the pool (crazy). Even though it was later in the season it was wonderful to see the grounds during the autum . The pictures if I'm honest don't do the house justice it's a beautiful magical place and we have some wonderful memories. I highly recommend the property.

Simply the best!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in several houses in France but this was beyond question the best. The farmhouse is beautiful and has been adapted well to fit its current rental purpose. We had wonderful weather so particularly enjoyed dining on the patio next to the BBQ area. The electronic canopy sheltered us from the sun and the very occasional shower. The grounds are vast and open opportunities for swimming, table tennis jogging etc. Some bikes are provided but others can be rented locally. With the river on one side and the canal on the other there is no shortage of cycle and jogging paths, and the views are spectacular. There are lovely villages in the area with good food on offer. We rented the house for three weeks and invited family and friends to join us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Jon and Sonya, who look after the property certainly deserve a special mention for their cheerful friendship and helpful outlook. The proof of our satisfaction with La Tuiliere is that we have booked for another three weeks this year, because it is, simply the best.
