Rural retreat

  • 5 of 5

Tranquil, isolated, perfect for a real get-a-way. No wi-fi, no noise from traffic, no shops near by. A truly rustic retreat, lovely pool (a touch on the chilly side - but I'm old and soft!), really well equipped but not for anyone with mobility issues because of stairs or expecting vibrant night life nearby! A beautiful part of the country and well worth a visit.

Rustic, peaceful and perfect!

  • 5 of 5

After traveling from far, it was lovely to just arrive and relax from the first moment. We were welcomed easily and just made ourselves at home. The site is very isolated, which is just what we wanted. We have 3 noisy girls who could splash around in the pool as early or late as they wanted, as well as a puppy which ran around like a crazy beast for most of the time we were there. We were left to our own devices, but had all the details to contact if there were any issues. The listing and photos are accurate, but definitely don't do it justice, as it really is beautiful.

It would be good for people to note the following - The site is not suitable for toddlers as the property is not fenced off (thats what we loved about it - the rustic rural nature) as well as stairs etc (although the pool is fenced off) It is on a bit of a slope, with natural vegetation surrounding, so tiny people might fall etc.

Also, if, like us, you want somewhere that is simple, neat and family friendly, then this is perfect - if you want the luxuries of life and the perfect finishes, then this probably wouldn't suit you. (it comes with the most comfortable beanbag in the world...)

There are lovely walks all around, but they nearest shops/bakery would need a car.

We will definitely return here if possible and had the most relaxing break we could have imagined.
