Apartment and Villa on the urbaization of Torremuelle, Benalmadena, Costa del Sol, Spain - Very Quite, Just The Sound Of The Sea! Great Access To Buses, Local Train & Taxis, Car Not Needed

If you want a peaceful & relaxing holiday on the Costa del Sol and directly on the beach this is the place to be,with the sun all day long !!!if you wish to holiday with family or friends we also have another property, on the same urbanization and only a 5 min walk away, have a look at our new 2 bedroom villa. The reviews on both property's from guests must be read. The apartment and villa are only a 15 min drive from Malaga airport by taxi, but why not take the local train which runs from the airport to the station of Torremuelle every 20 mins, or the bus which you can find outside the arrivals hall, no 128 this takes you right to the centre of the complex just a 5 min walk to the apartment & villa, there are a few bars & restaurants close to the apartment with one bar directly on the beach and is open only for the summer months, also 2 supermarkets that sell English food. The apartment is fully furnished with a double bed and fitted wardrobes plus ceiling fan in the bedroom,kitchen has a washing machine,full cooker,fridge.The lounge has 2 luxury cream sofa's,English Free view TV, ( no ITV or BBC ) CD player & DVD player, and A/C, reading books and board games. The apartment has stunning views of the sea with the sun on the balcony all day long, so why not relax on the balcony with a cool glass of wine watching fishing boats go by or cook yourself a meal on the BBQ ? If you like fishing bring your rods with you and spend the evening fishing from the rocks.

The 2 bedroom villa has a double bedroom plus a twin bedroom,both with full length glass sliding wardrobes, plus a safe in the bedroom for your money & passports all so A/C in both bedrooms, fully fitted bathroom with large walk in shower. The large spacious lounge/diner has two red leather sofa's, English Free view TV (no itv or bbc ) plus DVD player, many reading books & games to keep you entertained, Glass dining table & chairs for 6 people, many table lamps and coffee tables, also a sofa bed, plus A/C in the lounge, the villa can sleep 4 + people,all windows have sea views and large patio doors leading from the lounge directly out to the shared gardens & swimming pool, it also has an outside dining area with large sun awning, table & chairs plus 4 sunbeds, also a BBQ for your evening meals !! We now have wifi in the apartment & Villa for rental at £10 per week, please advice us should you require the wifi when booking. we have a travel cot, high chair & baby's bath should you require them for your holiday, these are free of charge, but will need to be booked with us.

Beautiful secluded large 2 bedroom villa with sea views,overlooking the mature gardens and shared swimming pool just a short walk to the beach !! 1 double bedroom plus 1 twin bedroom & small sofa bed in the large lounge/diner, the villa is very spacious, fully fitted kitchen with washing machine, fridge/freezer, English TV, plus all the comforts of home & A/C, we have a patio with sun awning table & chairs for outside dining,and 4 sunbeds. The villa has very good access to public transport it is close to bus stops and the local train that runs from Malaga - Fuengirola stops here !Also a taxi rank near by, there are few bars/restaurants & a supermarket on site. The villa is near the apartment so if there should be two families wanting to holiday together these two property's would be great for all !! we also have a travel cot for babies. should you need it please request it when booking the villa ! To save your luggage allowance we will now supply you of a loan of 1 beach towel each.

Far from the madding crowd

Lovely little villa as described. Clean and cared for.

Great base for visiting stretch of coastline from Malaga to Fuengirola.

Torremuelle railway station 10 minutes up the hill with 20min service in either direction for most of day. Bus stops directly outside for Benalmadena and just down the road for Fuengirola.

A quiet retreat as resorts are busy this time of year. Swimmimg pool used most days and was a treat to cool down as temperature getting up towards mid 30c some days.

Small supermarket and few restaurants within walking distance.

Our communication was great with owner and will be returning and overall a really lovely holiday.

Have travelled back early this morning and wanted to make sure i posted a review hope this is of some help.

Right choice for Torremuelle

This property is in the perfect place to enjoy Torremuelle and it's quiet beaches. Just 10 min walk from the station there is no need for a car, the bus and train services are first rate. Benalmadena and Fuengarola just a short bus ride away. There are restaurants and supermarkets just a few minutes walk away. The villa itself has everything you could possibly need, a home from home, very clean and comfortable. We made full use of the pool and beautifully kept gardens. The bbq was used several times. We thoughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return and also recommend to others.

Disappointing/Not as described

We booked into the Villa (not the apartment). The Villa is described as 'quiet and peaceful' and 'part of the same complex' therefore we thought it was beach facing as the described location suggests. In fact it sits approx 8 metres from a very busy motorway. On arrival, with our 6 month old baby, we were greeted by a noisy thoroughfare of traffic right outside the villa which could easily be heard inside and all night. I feel the advert is totally misleading and we were mis sold this property. The owner made no reference to this and we specifically told her we were travelling with an infant.

The noise is very disruptive day and night. We made the owner aware on the following day of our arrival however she was extremely dismissive and made NO effort to appease or compensate us in ANY way. I find this extremely disappointing and not representative of a courteous landlord. Simply saying 'no one has complained before' is not in any way acceptable to us when this has caused a huge disruption to our holiday and significant cost in time and effort sourcing other accommodation as this place is absolutely not as described and if we had known the true location we would not have booked it.

We paid for a two week stay but only stayed one night and used no facilities therefore I don't believe there would be any significant cleaning costs so I would expect a decent if not complete refund. We have not yet posted our review therefore the owner could potentially re- let the premises for at least 7-10 days. Either way the property is completely unsuitable for our needs and if advertised correctly we would not have considered booking it.

I cannot emphasise how extremely disappointing and inconvenient this experience has been.

Owner's Response: We are offended by your remarks and now because of as it would appear your total inability to read and understand the comprehensive details relating to our villa we have taken the decision to formally reply to your complaint. You arrived after 10pm at night with two small children, and it wasn’t until 7.30pm the NEXT EVENING almost 24 hours later after conveniently and without a car you manage to find alternative accommodation in the mountains, you then text me to say you were unhappy with the traffic noise saying it kept you all awake that night, if I had a complaint about anything at all I would have contacted someone first thing at 9am the next day not 7.30pm the following evening .Prior to your arrival we had agreed that because you had booked late 8pm return flight with 2 young children we would let you stay in the villa for the rest of the day when normally we ask for our guests to vacate the property by 10.30am.this was free of charge and also as you requested delivered groceries for you as part of our service for guests. Your complaint is unbelievable, bearing in mind the windows are double glazed and also have the typical Spanish shutters which I pointed out to you thinking that you were maybe unaware of this and your response was that it was still noisy. You have pointed out that on the Owners Direct site the villa is described as quiet & peaceful, you are confusing this with the apartment it states only that the villa is a short walk to the beach also nowhere does it state it is facing the sea once again your misunderstanding, other people who have booked have not been confused !! The information I sent to you by email gives you details of how the bus stops and taxi rank which are both adjacent to the road can be accessed via the gate in the garden area and also to the main road which is a single carriageway and not as you describe a motorway, The traffic noise is minimal because the villa is exactly 16mtrs away from the now single carriageway road (not the 8mtrs as you stated), After you had decided to leave the villa, I went there specifically to listen to the traffic noise that you referred to, normally I clean with the door open and the music on, but this time I closed the door and could hear no traffic inside the villa, and this was with the shutters up. I have spoken with Janine the transfer driver and found out you chose another property further away from the beach higher into the mountains, and closer to the AP7 Motorway.

A wonderful holiday

We are a couple in our mid 50's and booked this Villa for a comfortable and relaxing week.......we were not disappointed. The villa is very good size and extremely well furnished. We did not need to use the air conditioning as there was a lovely breeze coming through the windows. It had all facilities as described except very limited channels on Sky, however, this is a problem all over the coast at present and Ronna has a new box on order. There a lovely see views from the Villa which made it a pleasure to do the washing up with the view from the kitchen window!!!!!! Freshly laundered bedding, towels etc. even beach towels provided. It's the outside space we were blown away with. A good size terrace with patio table and chairs which had sun from around 10.00 a.m. to 5.00pm. Also a good sized grass area with shrubs and bedding plants and plenty room for sun lounges that were provided. Just a few steps from the Villa is the Kidney shaped pool which was well maintained, perfect for a refreshing dip!! Very quiet grounds and no ball games allowed, not even in the pool. Very good bus and train links along the coast for Malaga to Fuengerola, and further on if prepared to change at stations. There are 2 supermarkets within a few minutes walk and a couple of bars and a Tapas bar. By the larger supermarket is an excellent restaurant "Lucena" that's open from lunchtime until late evening. A little pricey but excellent food and service, we are there 4 times and couldn't fault it.

The area is hilly so be prepared for the steep slopes and steps. We just allowed extra time and enjoyed a gentle "wobbling around" exploring the immediate area !!!!

To summarize ....... If you want none stop action, shopping and bars on your doorstep this Villa is not suited to you. If you want a relaxing, home from home experience in tranquil surroundings then you will LOVE it here.

Although the Villa is situated by the main coastal road we did not find traffic noise an issue, even sleeping with the windows open. There is a pretty wall and shrubs around the small complex which keeps it very private.

We enjoyed our stay so much we booked a return visit for October before we left!!!!

We brought this apartment because of the location and the wonderful views of the sea over 36 years ago!! and we then brought our lovely 2 bedroom villa in 2014 which is on the same urbanization, so great if you want other family members or friends sharing your holiday but not your accommodation !!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : malaga at 25 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is just below the balcony of the apartment, or under the bridge from the villa !! Benalmadena Marina is only a 10 min drive away, Paloma Park in Benalmadena is only 10 mins drive where you will find restaurants/bars, children's play areas Selwo park for dolphin shows. Tivoli Gardens the amusement park is a train ride away in Arroyo de la Miel, this is where you can ride on a cable car up into the mountains, and see the bird of prey or Visit the large market on Friday mornings, Fuengirola & Torremolinos water parks are a short drive.

Travel:

Malaga airport is only a 15 min drive away from the apartment & Villa.

Should you need a taxi pick up please let us know because we use a local company who are English and know where both properties are. The local train that runs from Malaga - Fuengroila stops at the airport and also stops on the Torremuelle complex,or catch the no 28 bus outside arrivals hall at the airport that stops right at the complex so easy access for the beach apartment and casa Blanca villa.

Distances:

Benalmadena Pueblo a typical Andalusian white washed village is a short drive or bus journey away, Mijas is another White village that has Donkey taxi's, and a small chocolate factory where you can book up to make your own chocolate and take it home with you, or eat it on the way back to the apartment!! Torremolinos & Fuengirola are just a few stops away on the train, or by bus, Fuengirola has a huge market on Tuesday's. Malaga is not far away and is great day out for shopping.

Further Details:

There are a few restaurants/bars, plus 2 supermarkets on the complex, 1 supermarket is open 7 days. Benalmadena Costa and Fuengirola have great restaurants, night clubs and cabaret and dancing venues.

Benalmadena Maria is a 15 min drive away where you will find everything to suit all ages.

Tivoli World is in Arroyo de la Miel is a Spanish theme park with amusement rides, Flamenco dancing and evening concerts, from here you can take a ride in the cable car up into the mountains and take in the breathtaking views. Palomo Park in Benalmadena is beautiful to stroll around there is a large lake and lots of wildlife, it is also home to Selwo where you can see dolphins and sea lions.

Torromolinos & Fuengirola have excellent water parks and a great day out for all the family. On the main beaches you can find lots of water sports like speed bikes, pedalos and paragliding. Fishing trips are available from the Marina and the port of Fuengirola, you can even get a boat trip from the Marina to Fuengirola. Markets days in the area are Fuengirola Tuesdays, Arroyo friday very near Tivoli World, The Costa Del Sol welcomes more than two million people a year who arrive at Malaga international airport and head to one of the many resorts located along this stretch of coastline from Gibraltar in the west to Nerja in the east. The most well known resorts lie west of Malaga beginning with Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Mijas Costa. Further along the coast lies Marbella with its famous marina at Puerto Banus, Estepona, Sotogrande and finally Gibraltar. With the Costa del Sol weather giving average annual temperatures of 18ºC and over 300 days of sunshine per year it isn't difficult to understand why it is one of Europe's top holiday destinations. There are around 70 Costa del Sol golf courses on the "Costa del Golf" which can be played all year round as well as a whole range of other activities available such as sailing, scuba diving, horse riding, dolphin safaris, etc.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment sleeps 2 people, we do have 1 fold up bed for extra guests this will be £30 extra per week We also have a travel cot should you need one at no extra cost,but please book it .This apartment can get booked very early in the year, so if you like the look of our apartment and would like to be directly on the beach why not book with us and only pay 25% deposit ? If you want to get away from England in the Winter months this apartment is great, you may get a little rain sometimes but a lot more sunshine than England! Our new 2 bedroom villa is on the same complex and sleeps 4 people, we do have a sofa bed for extra guests, an extra charge will be added of £50 for extra bedding and towels, and only about a 5 min walk away. so if the apartment is booked why not ask about the villa for you and your family !! Both places now have a BBQ. The apartment and the villa both have A/C.Wifi rental for both places at £10 per week Outside: On the apartment balcony you will find sunbeds, table & chairs, sun umbrella, there are lights on the balcony for when you want to sit out in the evenings watching the boats go by or just watching the fisherman out on the rocks. The balcony over looks the garden and one of the two swimming pools, access to the beach by steps next to the second swimming pool, in the summer months there is a restaurant/bar right on the beach !! If you like fishing it's ideal, close to the apartment & villa you will find bars & restaurants that are a 5 min walk to, so if you dont feel like cooking, dont bother use one of the restaurants !!also 2 supermarkets on site.The new 2 bedroom villa is close to the apartment, this has sea views with patio doors leading out to the mature gardens & pool,there is also an outside patio area for dining with a large sun awning,4 sunbeds
