Holiday Home in Symondsbury, Bridport, Dorset, England - Located In West Dorset In The Heart Of Symondsbury Village, 10 Mins From The Jurassic Coast

Our changeover days are Mondays and Fridays. Please contact us directly for Midweek and Weekend prices. Our minimum stay is 3 nights over the weekend or 4 nights during the week.

A pretty thatched cottage which has recently been renovated to provide five star accommodation for two. Perfect location within the heart of Symondsbury village with plenty of walks straight from the door. Symondsbury is a pretty village with pub, church and school, yet only a 5 minute drive to the market town of Bridport. Rated 5 Star by Quality in Tourism.

All our properties offer a peaceful location, privacy and comfort.

There are many woodland and coastal path walks. We have also created a mountain bike & walking trail that meanders throughout the estate and a skills park.

This was the perfect, romantic getaway break. The housekeeper was lovely and really helpful and we had no problems at all. The cottage was well equipped and cosy but felt light and spacious. The bed was very comfy and being such a quiet location I don't think I've ever slept so soundly. The local pub is a great distraction - with good pub food and a roaring fire. If you want to get away from it all but have a little bit of extra then Duck Street Cottage is ideal!



Duck Street Cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable - perfect for two. It was especially nice that the bedroom and bathroom were so spacious - a 2nd bedroom hadn't been squeezed in as you would find in so many properties. The kitchen is small but has everything you would need, and the welcome basket on arrival is a lovely touch. We particularly enjoyed the fire even though it was May! The pub nearby does good food and the staff are very welcoming. We had a couple of walks straight from the door.

Special interest holidays:

We can offer guided walks or cycling days out for all abilities. Discover the real Dorset and visit some of the beautiful villages in The Marshwood Vale.

Coast/Beach:

The Jurassic Coast is a 10 minute drive away with beautiful beaches and cliff top walks including West Bay, Eype Beach and Seatown, plenty of fossil hunting and dogs are welcome all year at Eype Beach. Lyme Regis beach is the only sandy beach in the area and is approximately a 15 minute drive away.

Travel:

Exeter airport 45 minute drive, Bournemouth airport 1 hour drive and Bristol Airport 1 1/2 hours away.

Distances:

Duck Street Cottage is in the heart of Symondsbury Village, with a lovely local pub, school and church. The famous Colmers Hill is definitely worth a walk to the top to see the spectacular views.

Bridport Market Town is 2 miles away with markets on both Wednesday and Saturday. There is also very popular vintage market on Sundays.

Further Details:

For all Mountain Bike enthusiasts, we have built a 8km trail and skills area/bike park around The Estate for our guests to use, available for all ages and abilities.

Bridport boasts numerous individual shops as well as Waitrose, Morrisons and Lidls. Bridport is famous for being a 'foodie' heaven with fantastic restaurants, bistros and tea rooms. There are plenty of artist studios to visit and galleries plus the Electric Palace Cinema with live music and comedy nights. The beautiful beaches and cliffs along the coast offer plenty of walks and fish restaurants, a handful of which are recommended on our website.

  • Notes on accommodation: Ideal for couples or friends looking for a cosy cottage in West Dorset. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard offering luxurious characterful accommodation surrounded by beautiful countryside and only 10 minutes away from the Jurassic Coastline. Outside: The pretty cottage garden offers privacy for outside dining with outside table and chairs and gas barbecue for the summer months. There is parking available in Duck Street outside the cottage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We provide crisp white linen for the beds, white fluffy towels and dressing gowns. Linen is not provided for the cot. The cottage is cleaned and managed by our team of workers to a very high standard every week on our changeover day which is Friday.
