About the Owner

Hi, Our family bought The Old Vicarage in 2001 after many years searching for a country house in South Wales. Restoring and modernising the house was a labour of love and we were very lucky to be able to live here and raise our family of three children & two dogs! It was heart rending to move from The Old Vicarage but our older children needed to be closer to work and so we decided to move. Letting out the property for families and groups of friends has been a wonderful experience as we feel we are sharing the joy that a large country house can bring in enabling large groups of people to enjoy time together in a wonderful environment.

What a gem!,

  • 4 of 5

Fantastic property for large groups. We had such a great time in The Old Vicarage to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday and my sons birthday too.The property was clean and well maintained, lots of space/rooms for entertaining. The kitchen/conservatory was fantastic, definitely the hub of the house. Everything was there that you needed, even ice in the fridge freezer. Never been to the gower before would really recommend, we walked to the beach, a bit of a walk but well worth it. We would love to return to The Old Vicarage again.

Amazing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at The Vicarage as we were going to a family wedding on the Sunday. Alison could not have been more helpful in providing us with information before and after we had booked The Vicarage. We arrived and the place was immaculate. The rooms are amazing, large , airy with loads of comfy lounging about sofas and chairs with games books and DVDs to entertain you. Essentials in the kitchen including washing up stuff which is always a bonus. Bedrooms lovely and spacious with room for travel cot as well.

Gardens are lovley and the conservatory with its huge dinging table was fantastic for big family meals. The breakfast bar in the kitchen great for small gatherings and chatting over preparations for dinner. All in all we were very impressed and would definitely returnm

WOW!! Wish we stayed for longer!

  • 5 of 5

We only stayed for one night, but wish we had more time. Upon arrival, in what feels to be the middle of nowhere, we approach the front gates and follow the driveway up through the grounds to a spectacular looking building. Inside was even better and kitted out with everything necessary to stay for as long as you wish. The kitchen and dining room are just marvellous. There are numerous places (including a library) to get away from the rest of the group (if necessary!). The bedrooms were good with comfortable beds. Owners were great and understanding. What else can I say, a fantastic stay!

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Our first impressions were great, the garden is stunning and the rope tree swing really tops it off. The entrance hall is really large and impressive, you immediately feel calm and relaxed. There is a room for everyone, if people want to relax on their own they can, but the communal spaces are excellent too. The pictures of this property do not do it justice!

The kitchen is a real party space, with a massive conservatory to boot. We were a group of 14 ladies and we had an absolute blast. We didn't really go out much, as we wanted to make the most of the house.

All I can say is it was an amazing stay and we are all hoping to return here next year! I cannot recommend this house and a stay here highly enough!

Thank you Alison and Mike

Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We booked a family holiday for 12 of us in this magnificent Old Vicarage. It was absolutely lovely both inside and out. It was spacious with plenty of rooms to accommodate parents and children from 6 to 17 years. I especially loved looking out onto the long sweeping driveway and beautiful lawn which the children loved playing on.The kitchen and dining area, which was extended into a conservatory was a bright and roomy place for us all to sit down together and eat. The house was also very convenient for accessing many beautiful beaches by car and there were lovely walks close by. There was also a supermarket close by. For a large family holiday or group of friends I would certainly recommend The Old Vicarage - we didn't want to leave.
