With so many homes to chose from, it's hard to pick the ideal holiday home with confidence but you can rest assured that Atlantico Golf will not disappoint. This apartment has been around now for 7 years and in that time has amassed a collection of first class reviews whether you're after a family holiday or adventure based holiday. If you are looking for a pool and beach vacation, then look no further or, if you want to sightsee, hire a car and visit the scores of places on offer to get a feel of the real Portugal. You also have a private parking space in the basement with lift access direct to the apartment. Each booking comes with its own information pack about the apartment and surrounding area including recommendations for restaurants. There is a great local market in the town center selling fruit and veg as well as locally caught fish. A recently opened supermarket is situated a 10 minute walk away.

About Mr K R Stanley

My wife and I have two teenage boys and live in Surrey with our two dogs and cat. We really enjoy going out to Portugal when we can as it is a really unspoilt area where we have our apartment. We enjoy walking there as there are some fantastic coastal paths although the boys would rather hang around the pool (teenagers!).

Why Mr K R Stanley chose Alcobaca

The first thing that convinced us to buy here was the google earth view of the amazing bay which is completely sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean.Secondly, the Portuguese have strict planning laws to prevent over development and high rise and our complex has a total of forty eight apartments which have been built to a very high specification and first class build quality. All the owners get together every year to discuss the maintenance of the complex and look into improving the facilities on site which means the site is always kept in pristine condition.

Getting to the apartment couldn't be easier from Lisbon Airport as it is straight up the A8 motorway and travel time is one hour.

We have lovely views of the open countryside on one side but yet we are only five minute walk to the town

What makes this apartment unique

When trying to chose a property to stay at on holiday, there is generally a huge selection to pick from and many tend to look the same with their white walls and tiled floors, so we have tried to make ours a little different and unique by having feature walls with contemporary wallpapers in the lounge and main bedroom which has gone down really well with our guests. Also, we have equipped the kitchen out for those who want to do some more serious cooking.We also like the fact that everything is on your doorstep whether it be shops, restaurants or beach.

When comparing properties ask, do you have beach towels, tennis equipement, inflatables, sports equipement, picnic equipement, cool bag, well equipped kitchen, large library of DVD's and CD's. We do.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Atlantico Golf. Apartment is spacious, clean and well appointed within the development. Kitchen very well equipped. Swimming pool is large and shelves gently. Short walk to the beach and town centre.

We had a lovely stay in this apartment. It was clean and beautifully decorated. It was great having the pool and tennis court on site and there was so much to see in the local area. Sao Martinho do Porto is a popular place for Portuguese holidaymakers in the summer and it felt like we were seeing the real Portugal by staying here. We would definitely like to return another time.

I would be happy to recommend it to anyone.

The apartment is spacious and well equipped with more wardrobes than you could ever need! Owner has left a supply of books, DVDs and CDs and someone had even left a lilo, much to the delight of my children! The pool is clean and the place was quite quiet every day except Saturday when it was full of children...

We had a great holiday, the apartment was stunning, absolutely loved it, and so well equipped. We had a car but it was great to have the choice to be able to walk to bars and restaurants. We went to Nazare, C. Rainhas, Estroill, Cascais, Leira and Fatima, so got to see a bit. We also went to those restaurants as recommended, Solar Dos Amigos, the steak house in Salir do Porto (went back there a second time), Portabello. We found eating out and things in general very cheap compared to at home. Aug 2014

Just a quick note to say thank you for a terrific holiday! We absolutely loved the apartment, you have done a great job with it. The boys loved the kiddy DVDs on the rainy days and the instructions you left were very clear and easy to follow.Obidos and Peniche were great to see and Buddha Eden was just fantastic. My favourite was Foz. Amazing place. Our best find was the steak restaurant in Guisado - a bit of a drive but worth it! Sept 2014

Notes on accommodation: Cot and highchair is also available. Outside: Complex has well kept gardens with large doglegged shaped pool and tennis court. Pool has recliners around it with separate showers in the basement. For 2013 the gardens are being refurbished with fresh landscaping, picnic area, exercise aparatus,childrens play area and basketball nets with 5-a-side goals located in the tennis court. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedlinen and towels are supplied. Other: Hallway with extra storage and a Safe for valuables. For 2013 there will be free internet, beach equipment ( balls, bats, sun umbrella, cool box, mats, inflatable, volleyball and a pump for the balls.) maps and lots of leaflets and brochures on the area.
