About Sue Duncan

We are a professional couple living in Wiltshire UK with 2 grown up sons, the whole family love coming to Porto de Mos and experiencing everything it has to offer the different age groups.

Whether its a peaceful break from work / life or an action packed sporting holiday this location is close to perfect.

We frequently use the facilities of the excellent Boavista Golf course, restaurant and Spa just 5 minutes drive down the road.

We visited Porto de Mos on a family holiday and just fell in love with the place. We loved the fact that it has so much to offer tourists with its own culture and style, the beautiful sandy beach and being close to Lagos with all its restaurants and bars but that we can return to the tranquillity of Porto de Mos.

It is a great location to explore the history of the Algarve and take advantage of all the watersports on offer.

The gardens and pool are so private and serene that this location will suit people of all ages.

What a beautiful apartment! We really enjoyed our stay, it has been really hot. We appreciated the information booklet, maps to help us find out quickly about the local area. Our 3 boys made good use of the DVD's and Playstation -an unexpected bonus, great to keep them busy during the midday heat! We enjoyed the Waterpark and sea kayaking (go early in the day, as advised - the wind definitely did pick up )

Beautiful Location

Both the apartment and the location were wonderful. It was just a 5 minute walk to the beach or a pathway that took you all along the coastline. The sunrise and sunset were spectacular and visible from the balconies of the apartment. The apartment was well equipped with everything anyone needed to eat, play and enjoy life in the Algarve.

Wonderful apartment, great location

We had a wonderful week here, the apartment is superb. It was spacious, modern, clean and really well equipped. The owners thought of everything.

The pool area was very pretty, well maintained with its own sun loungers - a perfect place to relax.

We enjoyed exploring the many beaches up and down the coast and had some super evenings in Lagos.

We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone.

Porto de Mos was a great place to stay. Facilities at the villa were excellent.

The apartment was one of the best we have stayed in. Very well equipped and clean. Two bathrooms with teenage girls very useful. Everything was very comfortable. The pool area and gardens were beautifully kept. We did not hire a car on this occasion and the walk to intermarche supermarket and Lagos was about half an hour. The walk to Porto de Mos beach was about 5 to 10 minutes. Lagos has lots of great places to eat, we had some amazing seafood. Would love to return for longer and hire a car to do more exploring. Would highly recommend this apartment. Thank you.

A Home from Home

Without doubt the best accommodation I have booked through a holiday letting website, it was more than a holiday apartment and due to the quality of the accommodation and facilities/equipment provided it was truly a home from home, with everything you could ever want provided.

The apartment is very spacious, the largest two bedroom apartment I gave seen, and far more spacious than the pictures indicate.

The pool and gardens are beautiful, very tranquil, quiet and relaxing with the gardens maintained to a very high standard.

The local beach is hard to beat, with two great restaurants, yes they are busy, but we soon worked out during the day just take a stroll over an hour before you want to eat, and you always get a table on the veranda, likewise if you want to eat there in the evening book when you leave the beach for later the same evening.

Having dedicated sun loungers for the apartment by the pool in the gardens was great, overall we were amazed, although small how quite the complex was. We had the pool to ourselves for the duration of our stay.

The underground car park space was also helpful and kept the car cooler for when you did need it.

Only 5 mins in the car to Lagos and the nearest supermarket which was fabulous and had everything you could want including great fresh meat, fish and vegetables perfect for using the BBQ provided.

As a family we have never gone back to the same accommodation twice, however if we want back to Lagos, this would certainly be our accommodation of choice.

Booking was effortless, we received all the information we required and key hand over on arriving and leaving was easy.

Lovely apartment, spacious and well-equipped.

Spacious, superbly equipped modern apartment. Very well organised. A lot of thought has gone into providing the things you need. For instance, there is an umbrella which was useful on one overcast day. Also the information you need is there: practical stuff about the apartment, how to find your way about, things to do.

The October weather was lovely (temperatures 20-25 C). Most of the apartments were unoccupied, so it was quiet. Best things we did were kayak/swimming trip with Days of Adventure, based in Lagos marina; also cliff top walk towards Lagos. We did not hire a car, which I guess is unusual. If we go again out of season we might hire bikes to get about, as the roads were deserted.

There is no local shop. Nearest supermarket about a mile away. Two decent beach restaurants within easy walking distance. Lots of places in Lagos. The Portugese are culinary people, it's easy to find somewhere good to eat.

Finally, the beach is big and beautiful, golden sands backed by golden cliffs.

Thinking of going again in May or October.

Special interest holidays:

Lagos has everything to offer for the perfect family holiday. Fantastic days out can be experienced at the following locations, zoo marine, dolphin safaris, jeep safaris and slide and splash water park. New to Lagos is the recently opened Algarve autodrome, which is approved for formula 1 testing.

Lagos was an important Roman settlement called 'lacobriga' and a variety of ancient Roman ruins remain including the old slave market. The town is located on the edge of a superb bay and has five different beaches all within walking distance of the town center, which is enclosed within 5th century walls.

a modern and well equipped marina dominates the sea front and the town is now firmly positioned as a center for tourists from all over the world. For historians, there are some lovely churches to be explored, such as 'Sao sebastiao' (featuring 17th-18th century tiling) and the Sao Joao hermitage (8th-9th century) as well as a regional museum and the old governors' palace.


The beach at Porto de Mos never gets over-crowded but has everything you might want - paragliding; banana boats; wind-surfing; water skiing - or just a walk by the water's edge along the spotless, sandy beach.The beach has 2 excellent restaurants. Many other beaches/coves are nearby.


Faro airport is 50 minutes away, along the A22 motorway. Taxis and car hire are available at Faro.


Beautiful sandy beach - 5 min walk.

Large supermarket - 5 minutes drive.

Hospital - 10 minutes drive.

New race track 20 minutes away by car.

2 Restaurants / Bars on the beach - 5 minutes walk.

Lagos town for restaurants, bars, clubs, internet cafes and ATM machines.

Lagos - 15 minutes on shuttle bus ( coastal route ) or 10 minutes drive.
