Beautiful, peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

Owner meet us when we arrived. There was a generous, unexpected, welcome pack. The accommodation was very clean and no shortage of hot water. Dish washer, washing machine and dryer, microwave, fridge, cooker all insitu along with a great log burning fire. The owners also provided TV DVD and a selection of DVDs. I don't think this accommodation could be improved, with seating outside as well for a glass of wine as the sun set. Just perfect!! Cholmondeley Castle gardens make a great visit as does the Cholmondeley Arms pub, both nearby.

What a beautiful corner of England.

Fantastic location - wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Full of cosy character and lovely and peaceful. Judy was just lovely - gave our daughter some insect repellent as she was scared of wasps and hunted for some spare tennis rackets so we could play tennis on her tennis court. She even had a breakfast pack waiting for us in the cottage on our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble! We will definitely return again and hopefully stay longer next time.

The cottage was cosy, comfortable and had every amenity we could have wished for. Judy had left provisions for generous breakfasts and the surroundings were gorgeous and peaceful. We were in the area for an equestrian competition so only sampled the Cholmondely Arms for dinner. Highly recommended!

Would certainly recommend the property.

Highly Recommended

A fab cottage in a lovely area. Judy, the owner, was there on our arrival and she was most welcoming. The complimentary's she provided were a nice touch and much appreciated.

We were in Cheshire to visit nearby Chester Zoo and this was perfect for us. Our 2yr old daughter loved exploring the surrounding gardens and area of the cottage which was tucked well away from any roads.

The nearby Cholmondeley Arms pub is well recommended with great food and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

This cottage is highly recommended for both young and old.

From the Owner

We used to live in North-East Cheshire, but have always wanted to live in South Cheshire as it is nearer to Wales and we like being near to the Sandstone Trail for walking, also good golf courses like Portal and Delamere are nearby. Our house is on the Cholmondeley Castle Estate which we love and we often go into Cholmondeley Park to walk in the beautiful gardens and see the rare breeds of animals. We are also very keen racegoers and frequently go the Chester racecourse. There are a number of very good pubs nearby. We are only 25 minutes from Crewe station and yet in the most beautiful quiet spot.
