About the Owner
I now live in S.E England with my husband and 3 children. We previously lived in Mallorca for several years and so I know the Island very well. I bought the house in 2004 and my family and friends have enjoyed holidays there over the years. I used to run a retreat centre and bought it to accomodate guests who wanted somewhere to stay. We spend as much time there as we can.

Casa Sa Torre in May
Casa Sa Torre is a characterful and quirky house-the kitchen well equipped, the beds comfortable and pleasant little terrace with jasmine and bougainvillea for dining. The village is beautiful, the restaurants ok but not amazing (although the Pizzeria does a great pizza). The best restaurants we visited were in Cala Deia( of Night Manager fame) and C'an Costa near Valldemossa. I believe Fosh in Palma is very good and prices are not over the top.
Local walking trails are excellent. Driving is not relaxing on narrow windy roads while trying to avoid numerous racing cyclists. The orange groves were a wonderful sight and I understand are equally outstanding in blossom time.
We thought the charge of £100 for cleaning/laundry was somewhat excessive especially as we no mid stay cleaning done in our fortnights visit nor was a full change of bed linen, towels left for our second week. Plenty of chairs but a few indoor lounging chairs would have been welcome.
Great base for exploring the North West of Majorca
The property was accurately described and the photos in the advert give a true reflection of the facilities. Well maintained, comfortable and well equipped for self catering if required, however a great range of nearby restaurants within easy walking distance meant we only catered for breakfast. Pleasant and private garden terrace and stunning views from the upstairs balcony, a perfect spot for early evening drinks. Stunning walks from the doorstep into the impressive landscape. Would definitely recommend to others.
We have already recommended this house to family and friends, and we loved the village too which has nice restaurants. Description of house 100% accurate. Clean and well-maintained and it was helpful to find guide books in the house. The owner was helpful with communications and local housekeeper showed us around. Lovely little terraces to sit out. Very comfortable double bed. Well-equipped kitchen. Welcome bottle of wine appreciated.
House With Beautiful Views
We had a lovely time in Fornalutx, the weather was a lot hotter than we had expected and it was quite difficult to paint outside (we were on a watercolour painting holiday) We found the house well equipped and quite comfortable but felt some maintenance needed doing on the doors from the lounge to the balcony and the bedroom with the single beds in. Otherwise it was great, we thought the village was fantastic really clean, and we eat in both restaurants near to the house and the food was excellent. Thank you!
Thankyou so much for making this fabulous property available for rent. Fabulous location, just a stroll into the village, fabulous for relaxation, quiet and private outdoor space, fabulous to share with friends on three levels with two bathrooms and the photos do not do it justice.
We hope to return!
fab house, quiet village
For those of you that want peace and quiet this is perfect. Great views from the front bedroom and pretty village location. We took our three children (17, 14, 11) and they loved it. Pity there is no pool but we hired a car to find coves and explore this beautiful island. The house is clean and well maintained inside and has great character. Front patio where can sit out is picturesque. Easy walk into the village to find small bars and restaurants. Owners and housekeeper are friendly, helpful, and good to deal with. Would thoroughly recommend.
From the Owner
“The house is very cosy and peaceful, perfect for a getaway with the family or a long romantic weekend. It overlooks Fornalutx, a very beautiful village with several traditional Mallorquin restaurants. The walking is spectacular with many trails through the mountains. However just taking in the view is inspiring! Sitting on the balcony taking the wonderful mountain view or looking at the stars at night is very special. it feels as if time has stood still. Soller is 5 minutes by car with more shopping and a lovely town square with nearby market. The village can get pretty busy during the day in Summer, so it is really nice not to have lots of tourists walking past.”

“Not being in the middle of the village is an advantage as the views are fantastic, there is more breeze in Summer and free parking on the road outside. Sitting on the balcony taking the wonderful mountain view in the daytime or stargazing at night with a glass of wine and the distant sound of goats bells, it feels as if time has stood still. Having lived 8 years in different parts of Mallorca, it is still my favourite village. It is only 200yds or so to the square, so the best of both worlds.”
