About Christine Barrows

We have tried to create a comfortable house with modern amenities yet retaining some period style. The location was chosen because of the superb views, proximity to the town and its excellent facilities.

Why Christine Barrows chose Ambleside

We feel so lucky to have a house in the heart of the lake district. It is just above the town , in a quiet cul de sac with views of the fells, yet only 3 minutes walk from the centre of town (five minutes to walk back!) and offering private parking.

The house is equally suited to families or groups of adults and our family and friends use it as a base for walking, climbing, touring the area or just as a restful retreat.

The town amenties include five cinema screens, multiple restaurants and bars, a park with tennis , bowls etc and a spa.

What makes this house unique

Total relaxation! Mountain walks and town amenities can both be reached without a car. Superb long distance views.

Fantastic accommodation with everything you could need. Very cosy in the winter. The beds are super comfy and the bath is to die for! Ambleside really is 3 minutes walk away - you can get straight to the pubs and restaurants without driving.

Central location and Well equipped house

A cosy house with stunning views

The house is as well situated for Ambleside amenities as it is for the many walks around it. The views are stunning and I would highly recommend a glass of wine in the front room to watch the sun set over Loughrigg !

The bedrooms are well set out with very comfortable beds and the large free standing bath is perfect at the end of a days walking.

Everything is there to make for a comfortable stay with plenty of room for everyone downstairs as well as up.

Lovely house in Ambleside

The house is a great place to come back to after a day's walking. It is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean,with fresh decor, a cosy yet bright interior, and was very well equipped, including the provision a useful drying room. There are lovely views from the house over Ambleside and the surrounding hills. Ambleside itself is a good location, with plenty of restaurants and good bus routes to other Lake District main towns, with intermediate stops for walkers making linear walks a real possibility and certainly being a good base if you are without a car as we were.
