The house is a two story south facing property. Its surrounded by terraces and overlooks the river Guadalete and sits opposite the impressive village of Zahara. It´s set in the corner of a seven acre plot most planted with 350 aging olive trees. It has a breathtaking views and few neighbours to share it with. The valley is both beautiful and unspoilt, the house itself is fully equipped with entertainment systems, free wifi and Xbox. Its has 3 bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom, a children's playroom & bathroom downstairs and a large open plan kitchen and lounge leading onto the south facing terrace. Its has a salt water swimming pool, table tennis and badminton set. We've a great pool , lounge area and bar so you can Bbq whilst the kids are entertained.

Holidays need to have a mix of quiet when you need it and although the villa is in the countryside it is only five minutes drive from the square of Algodonales, fifteen from Zahara and 30 from Ronda. We are approx an hour from Cadiz city & beach, the sherry house of Jerez and Seville.

The most relaxing two weeks ever!

The property is a perfect mix of quiet relaxation but also close to some amazing sights (Ronda, Zahara). It was very hot late August but breezy in the hills and the saltwater pool was perfect. Good for adults as well as our toddler as there are shallow steps leading in deeper. What was notable was the cleanliness of the property as well as the amenities e.g. the kitchen had everything we needed, and the playroom was a bonus. We didnt have to think about anything! The TV didn't have a lot of channels and the wifi was spotty but that, frankly, only enhanced the holiday!! We were in touch with the owners once or twice and they were super responsive and helpful. They even forwarded a camera lens we'd left behind which arrived intact. I would highly recommend this place for a stress-free family vacation. Thank you so much Nic and Rob!

Charming Villa situated in the hills outside of Algodanles and Zahara with unbelievable scenic views

We are a couple. Casa de la Cueva was perfect for us as we wanted a charming villa that was situated in close proximity to the many pueblos blancos of Cadiz and Andalucia provinces. It was "spot on." The villa had everything you could want (is perfect for a couple or a family with a few children). Close to Algodonales where we went for a number of dinners. Also close to Zahara, Olvera, Ronda (all within 10 to 25 minutes of driving) along with numerous other quaint pueblos blancos which are great for a day or 1/2 day visit. We saw everything we wanted to see and had time to relax at the villa including sitting on the veranda, having wine and looking at Zahara in the distance. Could not be better.

Used the pool also to cool down after a day of town walking (going in August it can be hot). Also when we had an issue with a light not working was easy to be in touch with the owners local "workers" who responded immediately and also any questions we had the owner answered immediately via email. Initially was difficult to find (the villa is "off of the beaten path") but once we found it, then returning after a day or evening out was easy.

As said, would recommend it highly to a couple or a family with a few kids and those who want easy access to close-by pueblos blancos in the Sierrna Nevada mountains of Spain. And who want a spectacular view of a "white village."

Beautiful house, relaxing holiday

We had a fabulous holiday here with our 3 teenage children - the house is beautifully decorated with lots of different areas to lounge/read a book. the photos don't really do justice to how great the house is and the owners couldn't have been more helpful when we'd forgotten a laptop charger! The area is lovely - it was fiercely hot in august, but we expected that - had some really great meals out in the local towns, visited Ronda and Cadiz, both easy to get to but we spent most of our time by the pool or enjoying the spectacular views from the veranda. We'd definitely come back!

Simply Stunning !!!!

One of the most beautiful places I've stayed, My wife and myself were looking for a get away for a week in July and as we have hectic stressful jobs wanted somewhere just to chill out and relax and this place certainly delivers.

The villa itself has everything you would need and more, Its off the beaten track but not too far from the local village which really is the real Spain !

Cant wait to book again for next year !!

Amazing place to relax, unwind and explore......

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at Casa de la Cueva. Hot (40 Celsius), great pool and BBQ area, comfortable surroundings, amazing views, plenty to do. It was the perfect location to explore the local towns and wine routes. The villa is also perfectly located for day trips further afield including Marbella, Seville, Jerez and Cadiz. Seville was a definite highlight! Also don't miss the fish market in Cadiz (if you are a seafood lover). The house itself was comfortable (and part air conditioned), has a reasonably well equipped kitchen (a sharp knife and some more chopping boards would be good for foodie visitors), had a comfy bed and was clean and safe. A car is essential.

We lazed our evenings away watching the sun go down on the veranda, watching the lights of Zahara de la Sierra, eating amazing food and drinking fantastic local wine and sherry................

Only a couple of very small negatives. We struggled to watch anything on the TV on the one occasion we did fancy a movie night. Not sure if we had the hang of apple TV or the media system.

Also the directions were a bit thin towards the end and we actually drove past the house at least a couple of time without knowing about it.

We would not hesitate to return.

An oasis of tranquility and beauty.

Hand on heart I can honestly say that waking up in a bedroom with the villa's view of the mountains and the village of Zahara was my most magical moment of the year. The villa itself is fabulous with great air con, Apple TV and large enough grounds to keep my 11 year old busy for a fortnight. And every meal was eaten with the same view of the mountains. Nearby is a fab Spanish village with all the shops you'll ever need and barely a tourist in sight. If it's proper Spain you want, then this is the place. Up the mountains and only a 15 minute drive away is Zahara, a near-perfect example of a Spainish white village. Well worth the visit if only for the chicken liver parfait which was the best I've had….ever! I'm not one for visiting the same place twice but we're already booked to stay for summer 2015. Benidorm it isn't!

The views are stunning, Although he village sits just behind us and we are close to the town our little valley is beautifully peaceful and private. The River Guadalete that runs through the valley ensures pleanty of wildlife, lots of birdsong and a great deal of lush green trees even in high summer. Our children can play in complete safety and security and we can make us much noise as we like!

We are well situated to the roman amphitheater and historic town of Rhonda. The cave dwelling os Setenil, the beautiful town of Zahara, the stunning cork forest a and mountains of Grazelema national park.

The house has lots of terraces and plenty of space to lounge or siesta, i guess theres room for the football or volleyball in the sand court, the pools is brilliantly refreshing and the gas BBQ means you never have to go near the kitchen if you don´t fancy it. The village of Algo is luckily just off the tourist route so you can enjoy genuine cheap tapas and positive Spanish vibe around the central square in the evenings.

  • Outside: The house has a comparatively small terrace on the east side, a large 10 x 4 metre terrace on the south front facing terrace. The front terrace has table and chairs, outside lights and a roof. The poolside terrace is west facing and in part is wood decking and stone tiled. The pool is salinated and kidney shaped and roughly 8 meters by four. Its has table and chairs, pools side bar, corner lounging area and shade plus occasional hammock. There is also an upper pool terrace with seating. Utility Room: Washing machine, microwave, freezer large larder fridge. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included, the property is cleaned every week or when suits, the pool is maintained every 3/4 days. A local women, Rocio will happily cooked a selection of Tapas on request or one of here great paellas! Other: Childrens room, has a many toys, double doors onto an east terrace, and a double sofa bed. There is a new pizza oven on the main south facing terrace.
