Apartment No 6 in Central York, Yorkshire, England - Ref:06 - Courtyard Location, Quiet, City Centre 5 Minutes Walk To York Minster, Cycle Hire Can Be Arranged

A luxury 2 bedroom apartment with outside seating and private patio. Quiet location, close to the ancient city walls. Good quality furnishings, original art-work, modern, light and airy. Free Wi-fi, Flatscreen freeview TV and DVD. CD/radio and I-pod dock. Secure cycle storage. Sleeps up to 4. 5 minutes walk to York Minster with good road and rail connections. Supermarket, bars and restaurants within a short stroll. It is in a quiet but central small group of apartments but we cannot accept children under 10. Our minimum booking is 3 nights, apart from peak weeks when we only take weekly bookings (apart from last minute bookings if we have a gap). Many returning guests, Award of Excellence from TripAdvisor. A family concern, we have won several accolades from the York Tourist Bureau, including Best Self Catering Twice and runner-up Twice.

Widowed with two children, well-travelled. Born in North Yorkshire and living locally, just outside York, for 38 years.

Teacher by profession but have experience of holiday properties for over 28 years.

Apartments have won the 'Best Self-Catering' in York twice, 2004 and 2013 and a runner up in 2006 and 2014

Why Angela Bush chose York

A very central location, close to all of York’s amenities with on-site car parking (very precious in York). Owned the apartment above and when this ground-floor apartment came on the market bought that too. Extra special because of the private patio.

All apartments have free wi-fi internet, i-pod docks, CD players/radios, digital flat-screen TVs in sitting room and main bedrooms.

What makes this apartment unique

As already mentioned, a central location with car-parking. An area for sitting in - plants chosen for their screening as well as their fragrance. Beautifully lit at night and festive lights at Christmas.

Two double bedrooms, one with singles which can be joined together to make a super-king making the apartment very adaptable for families or couples.

Sainsbury's supermarket across the road, very convenient for self-catering.

Location superb for city centre, everything accessible on foot but on a very convenient side of York for visiting nearby attractions. Access to main A64 without having to drive through city centre.

York was voted Cycle-Friendly city of the year - we have an arrangement with a local cycle firm for delivering hire-bikes. Secure cycle-storage on site.

Notes on accommodation: Due to the peaceful nature and quiet location of this apartment we regret it is not suitable for children under 10, pets of any description and single-sex, hen/stag parties. Outside: A sunny, planted, private patio with access from the living room and double bedroom. Timed lighting which automatically comes on in the dark hours. Table and chairs in the warmer months, bench seating throughout the year. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Crisp white linen, duvets, white towels, etc are provided with beds made up. Thorough cleaning and linen and towel change is done weekly. Extra cleaning and linen change can be arranged upon request. Other: Bedrooms have good, top hotel quality beds.

Just arrived home from an ideal week in York. Could not fault the apartment, so comfortable, clean, well equipped.

My husbands health is not so good, he needs a mobility scooter to get about, this apartment is perfect for his requirements, so near to the city, parking for the car, and comfort for us both to come back to after a day out.

Angela has thought of everything for her guests to enjoy their stay, and she has done it so well.

Stylish and Comfortable

An excellent apartment in a terrific location close to the Minster and several excellent pubs, restaurants and shops.

It is beautifully decorated and furnished with lots of individuality and style, including some very tasteful paintings. Kitchen is extremely well equipped and as one reviewer has already said a real "home from home". The beds and bedding are worthy of a five star hotel. Everything is spotlessly clean. having stayed in several hotels i. The city over many years, this surpasses all of them. Truly a five * establishment.

A home from a home

I would recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to york, walking distance to town centre,very clean ,and fully equipped, and good value for money. There were even fresh roses in the sitting room + chocolates and sherry ,and as we arrived late at night they even left scones, butter, tea,coffee,sugar and a jug of milk .all to show you attention to detail and they really take care of there customers. Would definitely book same place if i will be visiting York again

York has won awards for being a European 'cycle-friendly' city. There is secure cycle storage and cycle hire, with bikes being delivered and picked-up can be arranged. Sorry we cannot accept children under 10, management rules. Our minimum stay is 3 nights, short stay bookings run from Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday.


The beautiful North Yorkshire Moors with the Coast beyond is easily accessed by car from the apartments.


Car is not necessary as all the sights of the city are easily reached by foot.

York station is 20 minutes walk across town, the sight-seeing open-topped bus stops just outside the apartments.

Leeds/Bradford airport is nearest 45 minutes, but car-hire would be needed. Manchester airport is easiest to access by train.


City Centre.

10 miles to Castle Howard.

20 miles to the North Yorkshire Moors, 35 miles to the coast beyond, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay.

20 miles to the Yorkshire Dales, further on to the Bronte Museum.

Further Details:

All the bars and restaurants are within a short stroll into the cobbled streets. There is a supermarket conveniently situated only 2 minutes walk from the apartment.

A holding payment of £100 is required at the time of booking, with the balance paid six weeks prior to arrival.

Changeover Day:
Friday is the preferred changeover day. Out of peak season, 3 night weekends Friday to Monday and 4 night mid-week breaks Monday to Friday are possible. Arrival is 2 pm onwards but this is flexible if arriving from abroad or by train. Departure is 10am.
