Apartment in Val Thorens, Savoie, French Alps - In the Cimes De Carons Block Next Door To A Small Supermarket Is Very Comfortable For Up To 4.

This 25sq.m apartment has a separate bedroom with double bed and a 'cabine' with twin bunk beds. It has been completely refurbished in summer 2011 with a new tiled kitchen and bathroom. It has easy to clean laminate flooring in the main living room along with an entertainment and storage centre of TV, DVD player, radio and iPOD player. The owners have left books, games and DVDs and are relaxed about these being used and taken as long as people leave behind equivalents. They have tried to create a 'home from home' feeling that is often absent in holiday rentals. Val Thorens is all about 'location location location'. It really needs no introduction to skiers as it is the highest resort in Europe with access to the largest skiing area in the world. The Cimes De Carons block provides direct ski out access to the main village ski slopes and lifts yet is one of the quietest buildings in the resort with a supermarket next door and the main restaurants 200m further up the village.

Very happy with the apartment. Fantastic loaction within the resort. Would definately appreciate linen and towels though as these are very bulky to take.

from you. As you know my sister in law was using the appartment and as I

understand everything was left in order. It is a great appartment.

Many thanks for letting us use your apartment. It gave us a nice, comfortable base for our stay in Val Thorens. We had two days where all the lifts were closed because of high winds but otherwise the skiing was good. The Eurostar ski train certainly made a nice change from flying. It was more relaxing, more comfortable, with a much shorter transfer to/from resort (bus from Moutiers to Val Thorens took 50 minutes). My only criticism is that they need to provide more luggage space for everyone's boards/skis

We really enjoyed our stay in Brian's apartment. It is small but has everything you need and is in a great location in the centre of Val Thorens. The building was quiet and everything was easy to use. We would definitely go back.

We stayed at Brian's apartment for a new year ski holiday with my wife and two daughters. We all had an awesome time.

The apartment is cosy, clean and tidy with all you could need if you wanted to eat in, however you're spoilt for choice eating out in Val Thorens. It is located in a nice quiet building and has great views of the village and ski area. The building itself is a stones throw from the center of the village and the cairn gondola exit is about 30 yards from the front door!

With plenty of snow (which we had lol) you can ski out from the back of the property and head out down the valley towards St.Martin De Belleville.

At the time of our holiday our youngest daughter was 2 1/2 years old and we cannot fault the childminding services offered by ESF. They speak excellent English and our daughter enjoyed playing with the other children.

Val Thorens has everything you could need and is little wonder it has been awarded as Europe's best ski resort yet again.

We enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked a return visit and are sure that anyone else who stays here will also have an amazing holiday

Week in Cime de Caron Apartments

Booked a week here last minute to catch some late season snow. Apartment suited myself and my wife for the week and is well located with easy access to most facility's just a short walk away. We both had a great week.

Fantastic location

If you are all about the skiing this apartment is perfect. 50 meters from the slopes and an easy run to lifts that can take you to any area of the VT ski area and beyond. And you can get a lift to within 50 meters of the apartment at the end of the day.

The apartment itself is small but well equipped. I'd say perfect for a family with young kids or a group of three or four friends as long as the group included a couple (as there is a double bed in the bedroom).

The building has a 'no noise after 10pm' policy which is also fantastic. Ski resorts can be noisy but I can honestly say that I had no problems sleeping and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

We'd definitely book again.

Communication with Brian was excellent and his hints and tips info was accurate and useful.

The apartment was well placed being close to the pistes and shops, restaurants etc. The apartment facilities were excellent and it was clean and tidy on arrival.Val Thorens is a great ski resort with a perfect mix of top skiing and appre ski.

The apartment was excellent, lovely and clean. very well equipped and very very warm.It was in great area in Val Thorens, very close to everything. Lovely views of the mountains. You could ski from the back door no problem.Would recommend this apartment to anyone. It was like being at home.The owner was so helpful, Thank you Brian. We will be back. There is so much to do in Val Thorens, would recommend going to the sports center and the swimming pool. It is excellent. Also the bowling alley for a good night out. Loads of restaurants and super markets. I would advice everyone to do the toboggan run before they leave. It was brilliant. I can see why Val Thorens was awarded the best ski resort in the world last year. Excellent........

The Val Thorens location has to provide the best winter sports action of any european location. It is becoming easier and easier to get to with Train, Car and Plane options.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Chambery at 90 Kilometres Nearest Train : Moutiers at 40 Kilometres Nearest Ski : Back door. at 5 Metres

Special interest holidays:

Val Thorens is also available in Summer, in July and August, for walking and cycling holidays. Mountain bikes can be hired.


By train, there is the ski-train from St Pancras to Moutiers. Take a transfer bus or hire a car to Val Thorens.

By plane, Chambery, Grenoble, Lyon and Geneva airports are all serviced by transfer buses to Val Thorens.

By car, Calais is 10 hours away, all autoroutes other than the last 40km. Driving works well but you need to ensure you have snowchains or winter tyres.


Les Menuires is 10km down the mountain and St. Martin De Bellville, a beautiful village, a further 10km away.

Courcheval and Meribel are a chair lift or so away.

We use a well known key holding service in Val Thorens where keys can be collected and the apartment inspected at the end of the stay.

Changeover Day:
Saturday, arrival from 3pm to 8pm. On other days or times by arrangement with the key-holder. Departure by 10am, arrange handover with the key-holder. Be ready to leave it tidy by the time the keys are collected.

  • Notes on accommodation: The owners are excited to be able to offer this very comfortable newly refurbished property. It is light and airy with a balcony for those sunny Alpine days. Outside: There is an outside balcony with views over the town and the 'Plein Sud' ski slope. Utility Room: In the ground floor of the building is a ski locker with room for 4 peoples skis and / or ski boots. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We would expect people to leave the property in a clean condition and that way avoid a cleaning charge to be taken from the deposit. Duvets and pillows are provided but towels and linen to be provided by the customer or we can recommend a local provider. Other: As is common in ski apartments a 'cabine' is offset from the main living area and contains a double bunk and wardrobe with further storage. The owners have avoided adding a further camp bed and have focussed on making the apartment comfortable for 4.
