Located in the courtyard, the cottage is contemporary, studio-style in a truly period building. Living area has an antique French farmhouse double bed, a comfortable leather couch, a breakfast bar with contemporary stools for eating and lovely kitchen at a slightly lower level. A charming bathroom with walk-in wet-room style shower completes the cottage. Old oak beams and oak details mix with modern fittings to make this a fun and comfortable place to stay, very popular, especially in the summer months when the roses are literally around the door and the courtyard is full of flowers and sunshine. Outside there is a private paved dining and sitting area, perfect on warm summer days.

Each of our two rental properties has a different character but they all enjoy the stunning location, the space to park easily, a wonderful garden with views of the Lake and Mountains, peace and tranquillity and yet the best of The Lake District is within easy reach.
We bought The Garth Country House in August 2001, exchanging busy professional lives for the peace and beauty of this unique house. It has a long history of providing wonderful accommodation for people wanting the very best of the Lake District and it gives us pleasure to see guests appreciating all that it offers.
Judy and Graham Dent purchased this cottage in 2001
We realised that this house has everything - character and style, stunning views of lake and mountains, spacious gardens, fascinating wildlife - and we can share this all with our guests.
We are central to all that is best in The Lakes and yet at the same time we are far away from all the crowds.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this charming cottage owned by the lovely & helpful Graham & Judy. They made us feel very welcome and the cottage had everything we needed.
As we had a hire car, it was wonderful to be able to visit the busy Bowness and Ambleside but come back to the serenity of this little cottage. We were able to sit out in the evening and relax just listening to the birds.
There was a wealth of information provided in the cottage, leading us to go on some very beautiful walks. This cottage truly made our stay. We were comfortable and happy whilst being able to come and go as we pleased. We would highly recommend it for those wanting to get away from the hustle & bustle of life and enjoy country life.
