The garden overlooks the medieval village of Breglia and has a charming view on mountains.
The apartment has 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, wc, bidet, sink, hairdryer. 1 laundry with sink, washing machine, iron and ironing board. Living area has a double sofa-bed, working fireplace, cable tv, open-plan kitchen with cooker, fridge, electric oven, microwave, toaster, cooking utensils/pots/pans, cutlery, plates, glasses and wine glasses. Featuring a private cellar. WiFi.
The house was a typical barn done in stone and wood, recently restored respecting the original forms and materials. It has private garden and woods, peaceful place with a charming view on lake mountains and woods. The house overlook the quite and characteristic village of Breglia, closed to Menaggio. If you want to immerse yourself in Italian culture, to find the Italy of the olden days, this is the place to do it: quiet, comfortable base to explore the area, Breglia is not affected by tourism but at few minutes from the most famous lake places as Bellagio. The village offers beautiful views, green woods for a refreshingly peaceful and restorative stay, good place for keen walkers: from Breglia start numerous hiking for all levels of difficulty. Some routes slide into the woods and reach old lake villages, others rising on mountain above the town, with stunning views of Lake Como, Lake Lugano and the Alps. In the apartment you will find all sorts of tourist info.
I was born and live on Lake Como with my husband, two children, our dog and a sweet cat. Breglia was the land of my grand-parents, we live on the other side of the lake, in Bellagio, but often we enjoy to come back here in Breglia for holidays or just for a short day-beak looking for peace, out from the busy and noisy Bellagio. We stay in Breglia especially in winter months, as during warm seasons we work, for this reason we rent our houses from spring to autumn.
I really love my land and its history: lake Como is rich in art, history and nature! I wish my guests discover as much as possible of the beauties of my land: I prepare in the apartments many information, maps, brochures. If you want any tips, itineraries adapted to your wishes write me and I help you to find them.
The village is like a nest in the woods of the mountains of the lake, where to enjoy beautiful walks between woods with fantastic views. An oasis of peace just few minutes drive from the busiest and most famous places around the lake. When I do not want to use the car a good bus service brings me to Menaggio, and when I do not want to cook there is the the local restaurant with excellent meals with little expense. On Sundays and public holidays, when the lake villages are terribly busy with tourists from the city, I enjoy the peace here, walking among the ancient chestnut and going for an easy stroll to the white church that overlooks the lake with an extraordinary view. In this small village people are friendly, you can feel the atmosphere of yesteryear Italy.
Both the apartments are so comfortable!
Ginestra, at the ground floor, has a little garden that we have filled with many varieties of flowers, and grape that ripens in September. It is wonderful in the morning: the sun rise right in front, the stone table in the garden is a perfect set for breakfast!
The big apartment Pervinca, at the first floor, is spacious and well equipped. It has a wonderful big garden behind the house that we decorated with many varieties of flowers for each season, Japanese maple trees, conifers and fruit trees. There is also a children's playhouse, and a barbecue. The highest part of the garden borders with the forest, also owned by us, from there you can enjoy the view of the lake, and among the ancient pines there's a wooden table where it's nice to have lunch.
Electricity calculate on consumption at the end of your stay € 0,50/kwh (usually in one week in Ginestra is around 20€).
Central gas heating on request, command on/off in the apartment, calculate on consumption at the end of your stay €1.50/h

If you are looking for the perfect family getaway and you want a taste of rural Italy, then this is the holiday for you. We went in April, a glorious time to go – fewer tourists, but still the flowers were on show and the temperature hung around a comfortable 19-20 degrees.
The house was beautiful and the village was like going back in time. Breglia is steeped in history and hasn't changed much for hundreds of years. The children were free to wander the many tight labyrinthian alleyways; running and hiding amongst the medieval buildings, while my wife and I relaxed on the balcony of the house, overlooking what was essentially a glorified playground. There is even an alpine-looking hotel serving food, beer and ice-cream!
The village is positioned in the hills, about 20 minutes of winding chicanes above the tranquil shores of Menaggio (beautiful, serene – more lovely ice cream - about an hour north of Milan, and close enough for a day-foray into Switzerland). Many of the villagers still live in Breglia, but the place really is a picture frozen in time; slow, rustic, and safe. The children (ages 12, 10 and 7) loved it!
From Breglia there is so much to do. The house overlooks Lake Como and surrounding mountains; birds chatter and busy themselves in the garden, the odd raven echoes in the distance, and the area is teeming with cute little lizards. But it is the people that made our stay particularly memorable. From local shopkeepers to the friendly crew onboard Como’s cruise-boats (relaxing, inexpensive and a great way to explore other lakeside wonders), the local Italians made us feel most welcome.
None more so than Lucia, our host, who simply could not do enough for us, and made us feel totally at home. Lucia is a local historian and writer and knows everything about the area! Our holiday began weeks before our stay, through emails describing walks, excursions and other details that Lucia thought would be of interest to us. She was there waiting when we arrived, with chocolate eggs for the children (it was Easter, a nice touch!), and was such a fountain of knowledge and useful advice. Lucia really went that extra mile and our holiday was so much the better for it. The house itself was lovely; supremely clean and just how we wanted it. The garden was long and perfect for outdoor eating, but it was the village itself that was the best entertainer for the kids!
I cannot recommend the house, Breglia, Lucia, and the area of Lake Como highly enough.
What a relaxing and peaceful holiday staying at Pervinca ! , fantastic location in an un-spoilt area of Italy . Lucia the owner along with the towns residents were welcoming and friendly . The walks from the property are a must as the reward you get along the way are stunning , would thoroughly recommend to any one seeking traditional Italian hospitality .
Breglia is a lovely place to spend a relaxing and peaceful holiday, greatly enhanced by the kindness and welcome of Lucia, our host. The apartment is well furnished and well presented, with everything that you could need for a successful holiday.
What was particularly welcome for us, was the reception our two dogs received from all and sundry and that there was a small garden where they could roam freely.
Breglia itself is a small medieval village with very narrow passageways between the houses which makes it interesting and picturesque. There is one hotel/restaurant in the village which offers a super “menu touristique” at a reasonable price. Taking Lucia’s advice, we bought day tickets for the ferries working the central part of Lake Como and spent a really pleasant time exploring some of the towns and villages along the lakeside.
All in all, a lovely holiday in amazing surroundings.
