About the property

Relaxing home with pool in Carmona, Sevilla - close to the city and airport

The countryside chalet is located within a gated Urbanization about 8-10 minutes drive to Carmona town and 5-7 minutes drive to the closest large supermarket Mercadona.

It has easy access to main roads with Sevilla airport only around 20-25 minutes drive and Sevilla City around 30 minutes drive. Cordoba is just over an hour away, Portugal a couple hours drive and beaches in several directions from around an hour and a half drive. At time of check-in I always give a map tour so visitors know how to get around easily with directions to the supermarket, restaurants, shops and places to visit such as The Cathedral, Alcazar Gardens, Plaza de España, Maria Luisa Park, Italica etc.

When at home the property is very tranquil with no road noise and plenty of character. Its surrounding areas are 'real Spain', rural, rustic and enchanting. It also has the home comforts such as UK TV channels, wifi and a large selection of books to read by the pool.

The chalet itself is on a large shared plot of 2500 m2 along with my property, where I live with my husband Alfie, our daughter Athena who was 4 at the end of 2016 and our fat lazy cats who all enjoy meeting and greeting new visitors.

Although the plot is shared with our house, the rental property has its own entrance to park several cars with electric gates. It has a large private terrance, bbq area and garden however you will bump into us sometimes by the pool, in the orchard or kids play areas. If you're looking for something totally private, one of our alternative properties would probably be better for you, however for a sociable family especially with children who are happy to occassionally see us then I would highly recommend this property.

Being neighbours we are close by in case you need anything and we always do our best make sure guests have a fun and memorable trip.

Within the Urbanization, within a few minutes walk from the house there are several child friendly cafe's where you can get a cold beer and snack. The closest proper restaurant which you will see highly recommended in Trip Advisor is called San Roman, this is about 2 km from the house. In Carmona however there are bars and restaurants everywhere, it is only about 8-10 minutes drive however a taxi can be arranged.

About Harriette

Hi, I’m Harriette I look after the properties with my husband Alfie.

We rent three properties in Carmona, one of which is ours, it is a fantasitc three bedroom chalet on a huge plot which is shared with our house, where we live with our little daughter Athena and our fat, lazy cats.

We have been renting another property for about three years owned by some of our good Spanish friends who use the house only for occasional holidays. It is a gorgeous two bedroom chalet on a huge private plot and a perfect location for any relaxing holiday in the sun.

Due to demand and on our visitors request we have now taken on a third, larger three bedroom property which is only a two minute walk from our two bed property which is ideal for big groups visiting who want to be close but not too close

Why Harriette chose La Campina

Previously to buying this property, I lived only ten minutes from here on the other side of Carmona. I reluctantly sold the house but due to a great relationship with the new owners who only visit occassionaly for holidays, and my love for the property we are now also renting it for holiday lets.

When searching for the house I currently own it took months of looking at houses in the local area and almost giving up on ever finding somewhere I would enjoy as much as my last property. I adore Carmona and knew the new it had to be within this area, so the moment I pulled up to the gate, I just knew, this is my new home, its location, tranquility, and the neighbours were so welcoming. I saw it had massive potential but required an awful lot of TLC, hard work, initiative and imagination.

What makes this chalet unique

Its location is fantastic, we are close by to everything, Countryside, Towns, Cities, Mountains, Sea, but it is lovely just being at home and no matter what time of the year it is, we can relax in the garden or by the pool, enjoy the views, the wildlife or just have a cozy winters eve by the fire. We do have a large plot of land and we take great joy in redesigning areas, giving them a new lease of life and alternative use. We have different themed areas all around the garden all set within an array of different fruit and olive trees, some may see it as a little quirky, but everybody enjoys it!

Special interest holidays:

Horse riding country hacks can be arranged where I stable my horse about 10 minutes from the house for €30 for a 1.5 hour ride. We can also put guests in contact with sky diving and golf, if guests have any other special requests I will do my best to find out what options are available.


The closest beaches are in Jerez, about an hour away and if you drive another half an hour past Jerez you will find yourself in Cadiz where you can go to some of the main surfing beaches such as Caños de Meca and El Palmar. Portugal is a similar distance and has some fantastic beaches including the Isla Tavira beach where you can even camp overnight.


It is highly recommended to rent a car for the trip, if you find car rentals very difficult or impossible, we will try and find a car solution for you.

Sevilla airport is only 20 minutes drive and now accessible from many of UK’s main airports, Jerez airport is 1 hour, 10 minutes and Malaga airport is about 2 hours drive.


The property is situated just a five to seven minute drive from Carmona town, which is one of the oldest Roman towns in Spain and there still stands many Roman monuments such as the Roman town wall and Fort which is now the Parador and a beautiful place to go for morning coffee overlooking the views of the plains. In Carmona you will find all the essentials from local supermarkets, the Monday morning market, shops, banks, bars and restaurants.

Further Details:

The closest supermarket is in town called El Viso del Alcor, this is located approximately 5 kilometers from the house or a 5 minute drive, it is a large Mercadona and usually very quiet with parking right outside.

Sevilla is a 30 minute drive and a city that everyone should visit, for a little of Sevilla’s history some of the must places to see are the famous Cathedral where Christopher Columbus is buried, the Alcazar Gardens, Plaza de España which is the old Palace and also a must see is the Roman Settlement and Coliseum Itallica which remains almost intact.

For the children and playful adults, Isla Magica is a great day out, there are plenty of rides and attractions for everyone.

The nightlife in Sevilla is vibrant, bars and nightclubs all over the city; Calle Betis is situated along the canal and a well-known nightspot for tourists.

To get around the center of Sevilla there is the option of parking almost at the entrance of Sevilla in Nervion Plaza and taking the underground into the center where everything is walking distance or a short taxi ride.

Notes on accommodation: Electricity is charged through an individual electricity meter to the property at €0.20 per kw as charged by the electricity company. A meter reading will be taken at time of check-in and checkout. I always charge electricity separately to ensure that AC is not left running 24/7 and therefore enables me to offer the property at a cheaper rental rate. The checkout fee will depend on the number of rooms used: 1 room: €30. 2 rooms: €35. 3 rooms: €40. For guests arriving either late Saturday evening, Sunday or bank holidays we offer a free of charge supermarket shopping service, just let us know at time of booking should you wish us to do a shop for you. A week before arrival send us your shopping list, we'll keep the supermarket receipt to be reimbursed at time of check-in. Outside: On the guest's side of the grounds just off of the terrace there is a large private grass garden, within it is a sheltered bbq and stone dining area which can be used 12 months of the year. The rest of the grounds are shared with us and consist of quirky little areas within an assortment of fruit trees, herbs and flowers which guests are welcome to help themselves to for the duration of the stay. At nighttime the garden comes to life as the colourful solar lights wake up and the moon shines down through the stars. The swimming pool and its surroundings were renovated in early 2014, it includes pool focus lights for nighttime swimming and is an idillic place to sit for a glass of sangria. Although the pool is shared with our property, it is rarely used more than a few hours a week by us, we do however keep it clean for our visitors. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen will be provided clean and ironed every 7 days. If requested more frequently it can be provided for an extra cost of €7 per set of bedding. Guests are expected to keep the property clean however a cleaning service can be provided for €40. Other: All rooms have fans and there are also mosquito nets on all windows and both doors for guests who aren't keen on using AC.

Beautiful properly and amazing outdoor space

Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Had an amazing week away with my husband and 4 teenage daughters. Locals were very friendly and small local restaurants served fantastic food at an extremely cheap price. Pool was amazing and spent many evenings out on the terrace in the wonderful weather. Couldn't have asked for anymore. Will definitely return.

Fabulous two weeks in Carmona

Just returned to the UK after a fabulous two weeks at this villa. Lovely, relaxing spot. Friendly welcome and great care and hosting from Harriett, Alfie and Athena. Spotlessly clean, well maintained, well equipped. Lovely pool and deck.

Really enjoyed looking at Carmona, easy 30 minute drive to Seville. Would recommend this as a lovely relaxing holiday spot.

Wonderful stay in Los Frutales

We just spent 12 nights in this beautiful villa in the country near Carmona. There was plenty of room for my wife and I and our 3 teenagers. The home, terrace, pool and extensive gardens create a lovely setting for a relaxing stay. We used the barbecue, the outdoor dining area and had a pool day. Harriette and Alfie are right next door for any questions and were of wonderful assistance, but always respect your privacy. We used the home as a base for visits to Seville, Carmona, Granada, Ronda, Cadiz and Gibraltar. You definitely need a car when staying here. This was our first trip to Spain and we strongly recommend this property.

Lovely rural getaway

Fantastic location for a relaxing holiday. The villa is well situated to access Seville, Carmona and Córdoba. Harriet and Alfie were perfect 'hosts' as they were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our holiday special. Very safe and family friendly environment and the lovely pool was well used after our daily trips around the area.

Great property - thoroughly recommend

We came as a young family during the Easter holidays and had a great time.

The property is about 25-30 mins from the airport. It was very clean and well equipped - in particular the kitchen. There is a terrace, lovely gardens to sunbathe and/or play in, the pool is spotless (albeit a bit chilly in April!) and we loved the fresh lemons and oranges.

The local town of Carmona is charming and we really liked Seville - lots to see and do which occupied our family for couple of days - we also appreciated the maps and guidebook that were provided at the property.

Harriette and her family were really friendly and helpful - getting us initial supplies from the supermarket before we arrived, advising us where to visit and helping us light the BBQ, to name just a few. Whilst being very helpful when needed, they also stayed discreetly out of the way at other times.

So I would say, book with confidence, relax and enjoy a villa holiday with the benefit of Carmona and Seville to visit as well.

Great, comfortable get away into the sunshine

Very comfortable, rustic get away into the warmth of Spain. Great as a base to explore Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba with its rich history. Our hosts were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble from logs for the fire or oranges from their prolific trees. Will definitely go back.
