A haven of peace for a relaxing holiday yet only a few steps from a wide range of restaurants and local shops.

Located on a quiet cobbled pedestrian street in the heart of the old Moorish village, this delightful old spacious house on three levels boasts three en-suite bedrooms with independent access, ideal for families or groups of friends. There is a large fully equipped kitchen with dining room off, comfortable lounge, and three south facing terraces. There is a lovely outside dining area on the middle terrace just off the dining room with stunning views to the sea. The large upper terrace opening off the comfortable lounge, has a swing seat under bamboo shading, large charcoal barbecue, large dining table with comfortable seating for six, space for sun loungers and stunning views to the sea and the mountains; an ideal place to relax and watch the sunset before strolling to the many restaurants.

The beautiful town of Nerja with its lovely beaches is only 10 minutes away by bus or car.

About David & Dorrie Lodge

We have been visiting Frigiliana for many years and absolutely love the village. We have been searching for a house in the village to which we can eventually retire and found this exceptional lovely property in March 2011. Until such time as we retire we are willing to share it with others by providing very comfortable holiday lettings. We strive to provide exceptional comfort in a rental property. Each time we visit we make improvements and add more touches to help make it a home from home for our guests. A lovely local couple look after the house for us and ensure that it is always prepared to a high standard for all our guests.

The house is in a stunning location in the heart of a beautiful, peaceful but friendly 'white village' within very easy reach of the town of Nerja and many lovely beaches. If you just want to relax, there is no need to leave the village as it has everything you need including numerous good restaurants.

The village is steeped in history and retains it's Spanish character with many colourful festivals and is very welcoming to English speakers, especially if you are willing to try a little Spanish.

Lying on the edge of a mountainous national park it is a great base for lovely walks of varying degrees of difficulty in stunning scenery. It is also conveniently close to some fabulous beaches.

What makes this house unique

* A sunny haven of tranquility in a delightful typical White Village in Andalusia.

* A fantastic location on the edge of the national park for great walks in the mountains on your doorstep or down the river gorge.

* Lots of fantastic beaches within a fifteen minute drive or bus ride.

Winter lets: In addition to two log burners, additional heating is available by gas heaters and/or electric radiators and there are electric towel rails fitted in the bathrooms. De-humidifiers are available if required, to ensure a comfortable environment. In summer, due to the open 'airiness' of the property, air-conditioning is not necessary. Fans are provided in each bedroom. Lovely property with everything you need for a comfortable stay and fantastic views.

This property is situated in the beautiful village of Frigiliana. With magnificent views down to the sea, it is an absolute joy to relax on one of the terraces. Our family of four had a great time here. Thoroughly recommend the property, village and area - loads to do, a great part of Spain.

Beautiful rustic house with amazing views.

A lovely property over three floors with three outside terraces which are lovely suntraps. During the day we sat on the upper terrace whilst in the evenings we sat with a log fire burning in the cosy living room. The village is very magical with lovely restaurants. We started each day with a walk to the bakery to buy breakfast or a visit to the donkeys at the top of the hill.

The property is in the heart of Frigiliana old town, about 80m uphill walk from the closest shops for provisions and similar distances to numerous lovely restaurants .

The house is spacious, welll equipped and thoughtfully organised having a very homely feel. The views from terraces are lovely, particularly the upper terrace which affords all day sunshine, perfect for our November stay and some shady areas for hotter weather.

The outdoor areas have lots of cared for plants, fantastic bougainvillea, with an automatic irrigation system to ensure everything looks wonderful.

We fully intend to return.

Beautiful Home with Fantastic Views in a Lovely Village

We could not fault anything about our stay at this wonderful property, the house is equiped with everything you could possibly need & the views from the middle and top terraces are wonderful.

The house has a great ambiance and you would have no trouble at all in simply staying in the house and not doing anything at all other than moving from one terrace to another. It is a steep walk up to the property however its more than manageable and well worth it for the views and the property.

The village itself is a little hive of activity with plenty of places to eat and drink shop and meander with easy access to walking routes etc with the added advantage of a good bus service if you dont have a car whilst at the same time being a very relaxing place to stay. David & Dorrie the owners are very friendly and easily contactable if you have any questions etc . We cant wait to return.

Completely blown away by this house in the centre of Frigilliana . The house is very well equipped and full of character and charm . Amazing views from the rooftop terrace of the sea and mountains . It is well worth the walk up the steps in the old town to get up to the house. The house is very spacious and clean, right in the heart of the old town . frigilliana is a very special place and this house is perfect we definitely would recommend it to others .

Beautiful house, beautiful views

We stayed at this beautiful hillside villa last year and can't recommend it enough. We have two small children and they enjoyed the shade on the balconies and their lovely cool room. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful and were quick to respond to any queries we had. The hill is steep but all of us managed it without complaint! A thoroughly relaxing holiday had by all. We would definitely come again.

Beaches – there are 16 superb beaches all within half an hour by car.

Swimming - public open air swimming pool and sports centre in the village.

Walking - many well marked footpaths in the surrounding National Park countryside and guided walks of varying degrees can be arranged with a qualified English speaking guide in the village.

Tennis – courts for hire in Nerja.

Horse riding – can be arranged in the village.

Day trips – Granada, Cordoba or Seville are all within easy reach by car.


The village has easy access to the Autovia del Mediterraneo motorway. Malaga airport is only 45 minutes away by car. Car hire is not essential as there is an excellent bus service to the village from Nerja.

Other coastal resorts within easy reach are Almunecar, La Herradura and Salobrena. The beach at La Heradura is particularly nice.


The beautiful coastal resort town of Nerja is only 3 miles away by bus or car. The town has several beautiful beaches including the famous Burriana beach but there are many other fine beaches close by along this stretch of the coast with cafes, bars or restaurants on the beach. Further east along the spectacular rocky coast you may find secluded sandy beaches at the end of a dusty track.

Further Details:

Frigiliana is a charming old Moorish village dating back some 5000 years. It is still very much a living, working village and was recently named the prettiest village in Andalucia.

In the village there is a wide selection of very good Spanish restaurants and bars plus a variety of other restaurants including English, German, Italian, Indian and Polish! For an even wider choice, Nerja is just ten minutes away by taxi.

There are shops in the village for almost everything you could want, although they are not always easy to find. There are two banks (cash machines outside), post office, pharmacy, health shop, paper shop, butchers, bakery, fishmongers, several greengrocers, egg shop, flower shop, electrical shop, ironmongers, and several small general stores / supermarkets as well as several artisanal tourist shops on the main street. There is a market in the village on Thursdays and in nearby Nerja on Tuesdays.

Nerja has several large supermarkets and every other type of shop, and Malaga is within easy reach by bus or car for serious shopping.

Opening hours are generally from 10am until 2pm, then from 5pm until 9pm.

A few of the small stores open on Sunday. There is a 24 hour shop at the petrol station on the motorway junction for emergencies.

Parking is available at a small charge: At busy times of the year, parking around the village can be difficult. We have recently bought a parking space in the secure private car park beneath the market place in Frigiliana. I have to admit it is nice to not have to search for a space and also not having to get into a car like an oven! At present we have decided that parking is charged extra at £3 per day for the length of your stay for those that wish to use it. If you wish to use this facility, please let us know and add the appropriate amount to your final payment.
