Villa in Faro Park, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote - Peaceful location with local shops and bars within a 2 minute walk, beaches are a 5 minute car ride

Glan y Mor is a comfortably furnished, well equipped property offering holiday makers the ideal location in which to enjoy the lovely resort of Playa Blanca. The owners take great care to ensure that their guests are provided with all of the necessary home from home comfort and facilities. Accommodation comprises of one double bedroom with full en suite and one twin bedroom, both having quality built in wardrobes and shuttered windows which allow for plenty of ventilation during the warmer months. Portable fans are also provided. The large spacious lounge incorporates an apex ceiling giving a bright airy feel - equipped with TV offering satellite and uk channels, dvd player, mini stereo/CD system and comfortable quality furniture. There is a large tiled bathroom which has a walk in shower, wash hand basin and toilet. The kitchen comes equipped with fridge freezer, oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher and offers a wealth of cooking utensils and equipment.

About Mervyn Harris

As a family of 4 we acquired the property in 2002 and have enjoyed many family holidays together. Our Lucy is now 22 and has newer horizons to search and our Matthew is now 14 and being a keen swimmer and golfer there is much for him to do.

We, that is Kathryn and Mervyn, still enjoy the incredible landscapes and numerous restaurants enjoying much of the local cuisine. Often we travel for long weekends getting excellent flight prices and just relaxing by the pool preparing a BBQ or cooking the excellent fresh fish and meat which are available from the supermarkets or specialist shops such as Roper in Playa Blanca or Playa Honda.

Why Mervyn Harris chose Lanzarote

We wanted somewhere quiet to relax and enjoy year round sunshine away from the madding crowds. Lanzarote provides just that.

Nearby shops & restaurants allows you complete freedom to chose between cooking yourself or eating out.Being only 200 metres or so from the coastline there are some truly fantastic walks to take in the fresh air and turquoise sea splashing against the volcanic rocks. The small rock pools contain on occasions small crabs and a variety of small colourful fish.

The Red Mountain is always an energetic walk and yet from its rooftop views you can see Fuerteventura and the islands outreaching volcanic pathway and the dramatic effect it has had on the Islands look.

What makes this house unique

We pride ourselves in maintaining the property to a high standard retaining the Lanzarotian feel. We ensure that the villa is well stocked with films, CD.s, books and games to accompany Sky TV channels to cater for complete relaxation. Our lit heated pool with its evening glow adds to that exotic feel with our typically local Palms and shrubs providing a peaceful and relaxing environment in which to sunbathe during the day and enjoy a drink in the evening.

The complex also offers a larger communal pool for the seriously hardy swimmers.

Wonderful Villa

As soon as pulled up outside Glan-y-Mor we were smitten and it wasn't just because the villa had a Welsh name. The inside was spotlessly clean, very homely and comfortable but the best bit was when you opened the doors to the fabulous pool. It has to be probably the nicest pool we have been in at Faro Park, it was easy to get into and we spent many hours sitting on the steps reading books as we were extremely lucky with the weather for the majority of our three weeks. The villa had everything you needed from good sized wine glasses (a must in my book), powerful hairdryer, fans in both bedrooms, lovely bbq and a decent iron. It's position is just right, it's near to the shops and great restaurants so you can easily walk there - but far enough away from any noise - not that there is much noise in Faro Park. We'd recommend the Port of Call (fabulous Welsh Chef), but to be fair all the restaurants are really good. A bit further afield Sebastians and La Manea were two of our favourites. This villa is perfect for couples and a small family - we would highly recommend it.

We are a family of 4 whom have been coming to Glan y Mor for 11 years now and every time is better than the last. The villa is spacious modern and the heated pool is fantastic. There is loads to do in lanzarote but we love just relaxing at the pool. The WiFi is also great doe the kids to keep up to date with their friends. Looking forward to our next trip. We have stayed on Faro Park 5 times and this villa is definitely within the top two we have stayed in. It is immaculately maintained and well looked after by the owners and has everything you need for your holiday. It is also very homely. The pool was fabulous and a real highlight of this villa and is by far the nicest pool we have ever had with a private villa. It was lovely and warm and well maintained and our daughters loved it. The little extra's in the villa such as games, books, English TV channels and WIFI were much appreciated by all of us (with our teenage daughter definitely appreciating the WIFI most!!) The location is very quiet and in very easy walking distance to a lovely parade of local shops and restaurants. Our favorites being La Flamenca, Dal Trevissiano and The Lighthouse. We also took a taxi from our villa to La Mulata which cost 4 euros where we dined at Fazz's Indian and Bengali restaurant which I cannot recommend enough. Fabulous food in a location overlooking the sea. We ate there 3 times during our two weeks!! Heaven! We then head down the the fabulous Marea cocktail bar for a few sneaky cocktails and enjoyed the 20 minute walk back later in the evening along the seafront and back to the villa. I cannot recommend this villa enough. As I said, we have stayed in other villas on Faro Park but there is something special about this one and we felt so at home that we all found it hard to leave at the end of our holiday. Thank you for sharing it with us. We hope to be back again very soon!!

Superb family villa in a great quiet location

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at probably the best villa we have rented in PB to date.

Location is great - lovely clean and quiet estate , but easy access to some local shops ( well priced supermarket), restaurants ( Spanish, Italian, and English) and bars 5 min walk away.

Easy access to PB town with the bus every 1/2 hr and a €1.40 fare, taxi back about € 5/6.

Villa is comfortably well furnished and has everything for your holiday needs. Special mention however must go the the pool , immaculately maintained, and the perfect temperature.

Our 10 yr old daughter loved the pool so much and would have spent her whole holiday just by the pool.

Villa/pool manager Paul was very welcoming , unobtrusive, but there if needed.

Didn't want to return home, but we will be back.............

The pool is sooo nice and warm!

Everything was clean! We want to come back! We love the area, it was our 4th stay in Faro Park, your house is one of the best! Especially the snacks at "Le Moka" are sooo good. In the morning we always buy our bread, baguettes and croissants there.

very relaxing

If you want a relaxing away from it all place, then this is the one to choose, its so peaceful and quiet, yet close to all amenities. The villa is clean and has everything you should need and is very homely. Paul and Ceris are exceptional managers and also at hand to help if needed and very friendly. would recommend it to anyone but would rather keep it to myself !!!!!

Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is maintained to an exceptionally high standard retaining the Lanzarotian villa features with marble tiled flooring throughout. Outside: Fully tiled private patio comprises 4 sun loungers, table and 6 chairs, BBQ area, heated pool with large shaped steps for easy entry and exit, private walled gardens with a variety of shrubs and palm trees set in natural picon. Pool dimensions 8m x 4m with 3 large rounded steps for ease of entry into 1.2m depth at shallow end going to 1.7m at the deep end. situated at the deep end is a built in love seat for that cold drink (plastic glasses please) watching the sun go down. A pool light illuminates the pool in the evening to provide that peaceful and tranquil setting. Utility Room: 2 adjoining utility rooms contains washing machine, ironing board and iron,clothes horses for drying clothes. Pool & beach accessories such as floaters, golf clubs (one complete set + spare clubs including golf balls tees etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is all provided along with towels whilst at the villa. Also one beach towel per person is provided for the duration of your holiday. There is a complete clean and linen/towel change at the start of second week ie after 7 days.
