A charming apartment conveniently located in a quaint narrow lane, in the original part of an old fishing village 12 miles from St Andrews. Ideal for couples, families and people with mobility problems. The view from the lounge is over to the bridge and harbour. It is adjacent to an interesting inn, the village shop, a renowned hotel/restaurant, the pier, harbour and beach. Known as the East Neuk this is an area of outstanding natural beauty with picturesque villages and sandy beaches dotted all along the coast. The Fife Coastal Path passes through the village. Fife is the home of golf with a huge choice of courses nearby. This is an ideal base for enjoying the beaches and sea air, relaxing amidst the quiet pace of village life. Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh are all within a 1 hour drive.

About Neil Macdonald

We, Neil and Grace Macdonald have the good fortune to be based in Linlithgow but also to have access to this picturesque Fife fishing village. Other commitments (particularly at weekends) have greatly reduced our opportunities to fully enjoy the property as we have since our purchase in 2003, hence our decision to share the experience with visitors. The enthusiastic reaction of visiting family and friends from Britain and abroad reassured us that the flat was as comfortable and welcoming as we had always found it. Come and see what we mean!

Why Neil Macdonald chose Fife & St Andrews

With no knowledge of Lower Largo we stumbled upon the village and immediately fell in love with the flat itself, as well as the surrounding beach, harbour and village pub and our first impressions have survived. Typically, although we had never heard of the village before driving through it for the first time, dozens of friends and acquaintances have since raved about the place with one work colleague who used to visit every summer as a child describing it as his "favourite place on earth!"

What makes this apartment unique

To enjoy a charming flat with so many attractions within such easy reach never fails to delight. Within 100 paces of the front door you can be breakfasting on the beach, dining in the Crusoe Hotel, sitting on a park bench overlooking the harbour, replenishing provisions in the local store, or enjoying a drink in the Railway Inn or its rear beer garden. All this in a village setting where locals and visitors alike rarely fail to say "Hello!" as they pass.

Notes on accommodation: With its thick walls and double glazing, the apartment is cosy and quiet. It is suitable for children and those with mobility difficulties. Well behaved pets are welcome. No smoking. Rent is INCLUSIVE of electricity. Outside: The flat is within 50 yards of the sandy beach, so you can enjoy your morning coffee watching the tide. A selection of picnic equipment and beach games is provided for your enjoyment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedlinen and towels are supplied. The apartment will be fully cleaned at each changeover or weekly in the case of longer lets.

Fees No additional mandatory fees

High-season, seven nights lets, run from 4pm entry on one Saturday until 10am departure on the following Saturday. For all other shorter lets appropriate entry and departure times will be communicated at the time of booking.

To secure a booking clients must pay a deposit of £100 with the balance being paid 4 weeks before entry. Payment can be made by internet banking transfer or by cheque. When final payment has been received, details of key collection, entry, parking, etc are sent.

100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
