About Angus Pigott

I have lived on the island since 2008. I arrived for a holiday and never left. Cliche I know but true. The north of Mallorca is stunning and the landscape is so varied. Beautiful Mountains and delightful little azure bays. Love it!

Angus Pigott purchased this villa in 2007

Why Angus Pigott chose Deia - Soller Region

There are hundreds of rental villas in the north of Mallorca and my parents looked at many to buy before they found and fell in love with Font Xiquita. The house and gardens are magical. So close to Pollenca and Puerto Pollenca but when you're in the house or by the pool you feel a million miles from anywhere. Truly possibly the loveliest garden and pool area on the rental market in the north of Mallorca. Our guests tell me the same and keep coming back!

What makes this villa unique

Large Swimming Pool (10m X 5m) with roman steps and lots of inflatables. - Safe for children - boardgames, Wii, PS4, table tennis, Full Sky TV, All Nationalities TV channels- Bose Music Player - Bicycles, Snorkelling equipment, beach cooler box, picnic gear. - Very private - Convenience for both beach and old town - Credit Card payments accepted

Guestbook comments from the manager

This booking was easy to arrange using Owners Direct with deposit on booking and a gentle prompt to complete the payment close to holiday time. Very easy to find in rental car from airport using driving instructions. A great welcome from Kim who makes sure everything is good, and a wine/beer/food welcome pack too - very welcome. Supermarkets handy too. Villa in very good order, spacious and comfortable, with nice things like handwash at every sink, loo rolls, cling film, ice, washing powder, dishwasher tablets etc provided. A nice travel cot and high chair were provided for the baby. Terrace beautiful with very comfortable seating, BBQ good, pool clean and lovely. Large garden, grass and trees, well maintained. Table Tennis table great fun, etc. Lounge very comfortable but didn't use it much, the weather was so lovely. The owner Angus was very keen by email to find out if he could improve things for future clients, which is why it is so good, so clean and so well provided. Beach is an easy 10-15 mins drive, easy parking there, beach properly sandy, Mediterranean lovely and promenade very nice. Good security at villa. We stayed one week, having come to Mallorca for a family wedding at nearby Son Brull. Great fun!

The villa is a lovely property with a lot of character however it is over priced.

  • 3 of 5

After viewing the pictures and description of this villa we were prepared to pay a higher price compared to other similar sized villas we have stayed in. The property has a lot of character with large rooms and a pretty garden. The owners have obviously spent alot of money and in many respects have created a higher end finish. We did enjoy our stay but we did not consider it value for money as there were a number of issues that need to be addressed. The trees/shrubs have been allowed to grow so big that by 5pm there is no sun on any part of the garden and the pool is constantly being filled with twigs/leaves. As so much shade is created it was impossible for us to sit outside after 5pm without being bitten to death by mosquitoes. The villa is for 8 but there were only 4 covers for the sunbeds which were very mouldy. The electric gates have no manual override so when we had 2 power cuts we were unable to leave the villa by car and a person could only leave by climbing over a fence through shrubbery. The sprinklers were set to be on so late that all of the grass and furniture around the pool were soaking wet every morning which was unpleasant. The bikes provided are a great idea but it would be useful to add baskets on the front so they can be used for supermarket visits. The BBQ area is situated in a dark alley, away from other outside areas which makes it unappealing to use. The inside of the villa is dark compared to the pictures on the website but you do benefit from a cool temperature. The bedrooms are lovely but be aware that anyone sleeping in the downstairs bedroom needs to be a good sleeper as there is a constant hum from a generator outside if the air con is being used. The fridge is large but of poor quality in that the door is very hard to open, so much so that we had to be very careful that we did not pull it over when opening it. The owners had put a sticky note on the front saying 'open with care' but this isnt really solving the problem. The numbers of crockery were small so we had to use the dishwasher more often than necessary which contradicts the numerous signs asking you to conserve water. The website offers British tv channels but you can only download specific programs. Quite alot of paintwork was crumbling and in need of attention. There was no light next to the key box which we had to use regularly as we were only allowed one key to the property.

Beautiful setting, quiet and private. Lovely villa and stunning garden

  • 4 of 5

Very well equipped villa. Comfortable beds and Egyptian cotton sheets. All very clean and welcoming.

Excellent location. Close to beautiful town of Pollensa. We were a family with adult children and new granddaughter. We enjoyed the peace and relaxation the villa and surroundings offered. Highly recommend

Simply the loveliest country house in Mallorca.

  • 5 of 5

My wife, two daughters, grandchildren and I have just returned from a wonderful week staying at Font Xiquita. The website describes it as the loveliest country house in Mallorca and I can't imagining there is a better one anywhere on the island.

The semi-rural setting is delightful: close enough to the amenities in Pollenca but far enough away to offer complete privacy.

The pretty house is very comfortable and well equipped, the extensive garden beautiful, and provides plenty of shade, and the large swimming pool, with it's decking surround, ideal for children. The 4 bikes provided are perfect for exploring the local countryside and there is a well- equipped barbecue for self-catering evenings spent at the house.

Helpful information about the house and the surrounding area is made available.

Pollenca itself, of course, is one of the most delightful towns in Mallorca and the wonderful beach at Formentor only a short drive away

Thank you Angus for making your house available to us for such a memorable week. We hope to return next year.

The best holiday....

  • 5 of 5

If you're anything like me, you're sitting in front of your computer reading this review wondering whether or not to believe the reviews, and whether or not to book this property. You're a bit fed up looking around, but you're also really keen to have a brilliant holiday and feel like maybe you should keep looking just to be sure. Anyway, my advice - save yourself the bother and just book this place. Take back another hour of your life and have a glass of wine. Honestly. There's nothing about this property or this part of the world that will disappoint.

We've just come back from one of the best holidays of our lives. Myself, my husband, our daughter (age 1) and her two grannies. It was fantastic. The house is stunning. Spacious, elegant, comfortable, well maintained. The rooms are beautiful, the beds comfortable, the cupboards are stocked full of entertainment (games, DVDs, books), the kitchen full of pots, pans, lovely ceramics for the table. My husband and I love to cook and this place was a dream from that perspective - amazing barbecue (easy to use), a really well equipped kitchen. There's a gorgeous outdoor area for eating, everything works - it's just brilliant. And walking into the garden to pick a lemon with our little girl to make a salad dressing made my mother's life.... I'm only half kidding about that. There are orange trees too.

For a baby - the cot was just lovely. It looked barely used, a comfortable mattress on it - very sweet. The high chair was in great condition, and there's lots of lovely kids' cutlery, etc. The rooms have great shutters which make the rooms really dark too - our little lady was sleeping 13 hours at a stretch... worth going back just for that, she never does that at home!

Then there's the garden & pool. Wow. Just wow. A really mature, beautifully cultivated garden with lots of different spaces for wandering and discovery. Beautiful flowers and old knotty trees. The pool is perfect - cool, inviting, pristine condition. Pool toys, lifejackets, hammocks and every good thing thought of and included.

The owner, Angus, is extremely helpful and responsive. And the location is great for little trips, easy access to the airport, all of that good stuff.

Angus - thanks a lot for sharing your little slice of paradise with us We had such an amazing time - the stuff of brilliant memories. We won't forget your beautiful home, and we're so glad our first holiday with our baby was there.
