About the Owner

Ola..and Welcome to our Little Oasis on the Costa Calida coastline overlooking the Mar Menor.

My wife Jean, and I had always wanted a "Place in the Sun" and 10 years ago an opportunity arose for us to see that wish through.

We immediately were attracted to the area by the convenience of a 2.5 hour flight, the cosiness of landing at a small but very efficient airport at San Javier - and more importantly the apartment, its positioning and the surroundings, it just felt right.

We have tried to make each of our place's a "home from home" thinking about what would be the perfect place to stay in if we were having a break abroad - and hopefully over the years of us owning them, we would like to think we have done so.

Excellent apartment & location

Arrived at Murcia to be greeted by John from the management company, very friendly chap, easy to talk to and explained where places were as we drove down the strip.

Apartment spacious and clean, cooker / fridge spotless, large balcony, well equipped kitchen, everything you need. Comfortable beds. Great air conditioning, cools apartment down quickly. Lots of wardrobe space in both bedrooms and ample coat hangers provided.

Good welcome pack so you can make a sandwich and cup of tea as soon as you arrive.

Large swimming pool, which is one of the warmest I have been in, I normally shy away from the pool as I don't like the cold water, but this on this holiday I had no problem with taking a much needed swim. Swimming pool area extremely clean.

Beach is about 5min walk to mar menor, fabulous beach, you can wade out far and only be up to your thighs, warm sea!!

Just over 5 Minutes stroll to harbour, lots of nice restaurants to eat at.

Lots of different bars/restaurants on the strip set apart in clusters, good gift shops in zoco. All are easily accessible by fabulous bus service, number 15, up and down the strip 1 euro 15cents each, bus regular every half hour. Tourist train also runs further up the strip, nearest point is magdelena hotel.

Bus into Cartagena starts from Area Sunset restaurant, number 20, catch the one on the hour that says directo, cost 3 Euros 30 cents each. The one on the half hour goes through the villages so takes longer.

Excellent supercor supermarket 2 mins walk from apartment, everything you want in there.

Would definitely recommend this apartment and area for those wanting a relaxing break and eating in at the apartment but also have the choice of going out for drinks / food.

Owner Mike always answered any queries / questions I had prior to departure within a very quick timescale.

Very relaxing, two weeks flew by. Would definitely go again x

Owner's Response: Thank you to Rachel E for an wonderfully comprehensive review of our property, the area and the great things going on and the ease one can move about to take in as much as possible of the region. This really is a hidden gem in South East Spain, wonderful weather 320 days out of 365, lovely beaches, safe bathing, historical stunning towns and cities such as Cartagena, great markets 7 days a week throughout the region, which can be visited by foot (local on a Saturday), by ferry, 20 minutes across the Mar Menor for 4 euro on a Wednesday or by bus or car in other local towns including the famous Sunday market of Cabo de Palo. A relaxing, chilled out holiday is top of the agenda in this apartment and the area, throughout the whole year. Thanks again to Rachel E. for her review - and we look forward to welcoming her, her family and others back to the Tomas Maestre Marina on the La Manga Strip.

Perfect Location

I have just returned from staying in this lovely apartment, it was well equipped and very clean. It is located just a short stroll from a supermarket, two restaurants and a bar, about 10 minutes walk further there are plenty of restaurants. There is a very good bus service up and down the strip and a daily ferry to mainland Spain.

There is a weekly market on a Saturday close by.

Swimming is either in The Mar Menor, just 5 minutes walk or The Mediterranean about 10 minutes walk or swimming pool.

John who manages the apartment is very helpful and obliging, all in all Thank you Mike, hope to book your apartment again

Highly recommended "home from home"

I stayed in this lovely apartment for nearly 3 months. It is accurately described in the listing and is equipped with everything needed for a most enjoyable stay. The owners, Mike and Jean, are very caring and the management team, headed up by John Phillips, couldn't be faulted in any way, and I would urge visitors to make use of the transport service offered. There were a couple of things I needed during my stay and these were provided almost immediately. It was very quiet when I arrived and a lot of the restaurants did not open until March but all of the restaurants and snack bars in the area were very good and very friendly, which was important being a 77 year old on my own! The market right next door on a Saturday was extremely handy and very cheap for fruit and vegetables and the supermarket 2 minutes away had a really good selection of produce. A car would have been useful during February but not essential later and I managed quite well with the bus service. I would certainly recommend this apartment, the area, the owners and the management team to anybody as I thoroughly enjoyed my extended stay.

affordable luxury.

Superb apartment, fully equipped and spacious!! with the under floor heating it was a welcome touch during the cooler evenings here at this time of year. The apartment is situated in a very nice area, the marina being just a short walk away. Supermarket nearby so easy for stocking up the cupboards for your stay.

On arrival there was a welcome pack, so whatever time you arrive, you are able to make a cup of tea and a snack!! and it was included in the rental, unlike some others.

First impressions were great, and the apartment certainly was worth every penny.It was quiet and relaxing, and just what the doctor ordered!!!

I would recommend anyone who is looking to book in la manga, to seriously consider this apartment, as it represents excellent value for money from a very friendly and considerate owner.

Its was the thought of waking up each morning with that sun shining - opening up the double sliding doors/windows on any of the rooms, and walking out onto the full length balcony and thinking..."This is the life" looking out over the pools and the landscaped gardens. Shower, dressed for the sunshine and 5 minutes later, your on a beach with miles of golden sand looking out to the Med or the cosiness and privacy of the Mar Menor and its shallow warm waters. Every convenience is at your finger tips, large modern supermarket, some nice laid back bars, and an array of cosmopolitan restaurants all set against the back drop of sun, sea and a lovely marina.

Outside: A large south facing sun terrace/balcony is a great feature of the apartment, which overlooks private landscaped gardens and the best shared pool facilities on the "La Manga Strip". There are also two tennis courts available for the more energetic. On the large sun terrace of the apartment featured are chair, tables plus a storage area in which is kept sand chairs for beach including beach umbrella. Also available to take to the beach - is a solid "cool box" great for storing drinks and food when going out for the day. Utility Room: An added bonus having a utility room featuring a modern washer/dryer, also the hot water boiler is featured in this area.
