4 bedroom Cottage In The Centre Of Appledore, Close To All Amenities

The Captain's House is a grade 2 listed, 4 bedroom property in the centre of Appledore, close to all amenities and 50 yards from the Quay. This light and spacious property has 4 bedrooms located over 3 floors. In addition there is a courtyard garden with BBQ facilities. This is an ideal location for beaches, surfing, cycling, walking, golf and arts and crafts. For younger visitors there is crabbing on the Quay and there is a supply of beach equipment such as body boards, crabbing nets and so on at the property. There is a cot and high chair for the very young.

About Jackie Davorn

We live in London with 3 children and pets. We purchased the property in 2006 when it was totally refurbished. We regularly spend time in Appledore as we love the charm of the village and the fact that there is so much to do on our doorstep.

We hope that visitors to the cottage have as much fun there as we have had over the years.

Appledore has a lot of variety to offer ranging from the various outdoor activities such as the beaches, surfing, cycling, walking and golf to just ambling along visiting the various art and craft shops. there are a number of excellent public houses which serve food and regularly provide live entertainment.

What makes this house unique

With the central location of the property it is less than a minutes walk to the local newsagent and grocery store. In addition being located just 50 yards from the Quay means that right on the doorstep you can amble along the Quay or just sit an admire the view across the estuary to Instow.

Wonderful few days in a gorgeous village

This property is warm and welcoming with all you need for a relaxing break. Jackie even arranged for us to get into the cottage a little early as it was snowing quite heavily. Plenty of seating area for all of our party to sit and chat and play games in the lounge and sit together for breakfast too. A 30 second walk to the nearest pub and chip shop and only 1 min from the waters edge. Appledore pubs often have live music on at weekends so even in winter there was lots to do.

Weekend break

We found the cottage to be exactly what we wanted & felt more like a home than a rental property.

Because we stayed during the "Beast from the East" weather, the upstairs bathroom was too cold to use, but these were extreme conditions!

A perfect winter beach break!

This cottage was comfortable, well equipped, warm and suited our group perfectly! It was so easy to walk around and visit all the little shops in the area, along with the quay only a minute's walk away! We enjoyed our stay thoroughly, and would love to visit again in the future!

A wonderfully comfortable, welcoming house in the middle of beautiful Appledore. Extremely well equipped, with every possible home comfort. A beautifully decorated house, with comfy beds, and sofas, a lovely little courtyard garden. We will definitely be back.
