Apartment in Lagos, Western Algarve, Portugal - Quite Location and within Walking distance to the Lovely Marina / Beach and the Historic Old Town

This 2 bedroom apartment is in a peaceful location and is ideally situated close to the beautiful town of Lagos, both the marina/beaches and town centre are only a short walk from the apartment. The apartment is fully furnished and comes with all amenities required including air-conditioning, satellite TV, spa bath, two balconies, one of which overlooks the child friendly pool and also has a dedicated underground car parking bay to keep your car cool during the hot days. The historic town centre has a variety of restaurants and friendly bars providing great food and wine. Lagos is a traditional small coastal market town with a 14th century walled ''old town''. It has a bustling marina, lovely sandy beaches and everything you could ever desire for a wonderful holiday for families/couples and golfers. We have appointed a British Management Company to look after the apartment and to advise on airport transfers, welcome packs and general information, all aspects of your holiday. Free WI-FI

About The Owner

We live in Cheshire with our 2 sons and have been visiting the Algarve for the past 5 years, in particular Lagos.

Why The Owner chose Lagos

We loved the Algarve immediately on our first visit, and we consider Lagos to be the perfect resort in the region. On driving into the resort from either direction it always stands out amongst other Algarve resorts. The resort is not over-crowded with buildings and has a real Portuguese feel to it. The city has an old section surrounded by town walls and here the streets are often narrow with charming buildings and good bars and restaurants and is very vibrant in high season. It has managed to maintain it's historical heritage whilst also offering all the facilities expected of a holiday destination.

What makes this apartment unique

The building was completed in August 2011. It has been built by a well-known local developer who is highly regarded locally. Hence the building is to a very high standard throughout with all new fittings and fixtures. All the furniture is new. It also has some nice touches like a sound speaker system in all rooms. The building/pool also benefit from ongoing maintenance. The property is close to all the town's attractions and amenities but is still set in a peaceful location. The pool is heated.The apartment faces south/southwest and so enjoys the sun all day. Eating out is good quality and value,golfers have close access to quality courses,and numerous beaches are near as well as the marina and river inlet waterfront to the town giving it a unique appearance. We loved the Algarve immediately on our first visit, and we consider Lagos to be the perfect resort in the region. Activities also include wind surfing, dolphin spotting, deep sea fishing, horse riding, walking, cave exploring, mountain biking, jeep safari, slide and splash water park, sailing and zoo marine.

Coast/Beach:

There are several excellent beaches in and around Lagos, namely Praia Dona Ana and Meia Praia, however only a short drive away there is Batata beach, Salema beach, Luz beach and more. Please ask at time of booking for directions.

Travel:

Faro airport is only 45-50 minutes away by car. We can recommend car hire or can arrange transfers if required through our management agent. Access from the Airport across the Algarve is easy along the recently built A22 motorway.

You can also catch a training which takes you from Faro airport into the station at the marina and then a short walk to our apartment. A regular local bus service which will take you to the local surrounding areas, the bus station is a short 5 minute walk away.

Distances:

There is an international supermarket within a 2 minute walk. There are also several bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The old town and beaches are a 10 minute walk with the marina reachable in 5 minutes.

Further Details:

The old walled town centre of Lagos is very charming with tiled narrow streets and many great value bars and restaurants. There is a small shopping area and the river inlet running along the front of the town is very pleasant to walk down.Here you can book excursions to go fishing and take small boat trips around the local coast. The modern marina is closeby and has a footbridge across to it.Several very picturesque beaches lie just to the south of Lagos and can be reached in 10 minutes by car.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: For your convenience and comfort the apartment is fitted with air-conditioning which doubles up as heating in the winter months. Thermal-coated aluminium electric blinds keep the apartment cool in summer and warm in the winter months. Each room has speakers and control panel linked back to the lounge where the TV or your MP3 player can be used on the surround sound system. The 32" TV will be linked to a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. The visual and audible door entry system can be used to allow access into the apartment block. The apartment is child friendly and the use of a cot and highchair is available with a small additional charge. Outside: The living room and master bedroom balcony overlooks the pool, it also catches the sun all day and overlooks the beautifully landscaped pool area with palm trees, etc. The large pool is shared and has a w/c and shower room, it is also child friendly and heated. The kitchen balcony overlooks the front of the building which gets the sun from early morning so you can enjoy your breakfast in the sun. There is an underground dedicated parking space, security coded entrance, video intercom to apartment. Utility Room: An iron, ironing board and clothes dryer has also been provided for your convenience. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included in the price. The apartment will be cleaned weekly, when towels and linen will be changed (if your stay is less than 10 days it will not be changed. If you require clean towels and linen there will be an extra charge). Other: The kitchen balcony has the morning sun for you to enjoy your breakfast, whilst the pool terrace enjoys the sun from mid day and late into the evenings.
