La Chalourie is an ideally situated rural retreat but also within easy travelling distance of historical attractions, sand beaches and numerous delightful market towns. The house is detached, in private gardens and fruit orchards of 800 square meters. A child friendly private pool is also available for use for the months of July and August , This property is situated on the top of a hill with wonderful views over a wooded valley.

Normandy is of course famed for the D Day landings and these beaches are easily accessible. They form only a small part of the numerous sandy beaches that dominate the coast. Some are reserved for swimming, others for water sports. The nearest sandy beach to the house is 25 minutes by car. If you are fortunate you may even see a local pod of Dolphins hunting Mackerel as close as 50 meters from the shore, an unforgettable experience.


The nearest airport is Dinard a journey of 1 1/4 hours. The ports of St Malo, Cherbourg, Le Havre and Caen are between 1 & 2 hours. A car is essential.


La Chalourie is situated equidistant between Saint Laurent de Cuves and Saint Pois (a distance of about 3km).

The stunning medieval cities of rennes, st Malo, Dinan, and the 'Gateway to Britanny' fougeres are all within 1 1/2 - 2 hours by car. So too is The Bayeaux tapestry. Mont St Michel, the most popular tourist attraction outside of Paris, is about 30 minutes by car.

The Ground floor is heated by gas central heating (as is the water). Gas use is included in the rental price.

The first floor is heated by electric radiators. Electricity use is included in the rent for bookings between June & August & charged at cost at other times.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day for high season is Saturday. Arrival time 16.00, departure time 10.00. There is a possibility of flexibility at other times, please ask at time of enquiry.

There is a taxe de sejour (local tourist tax) payable for those aged 13 years and older at the rate of 22 cents per person per night.

  • Outside: Their is a private garden and fruit orchard of 800 square meters and a private (child safe) 4.5 meter circular above ground pool which is accessible by means of a moveable ladder and is available for the months of July & August (& June by arrangement). A dining and barbecue area are available outside with adequate seating for all. Quilts & Pillows are provided and bed linen can be hired (£10 for a double bed & £7 for a single). You are expected to clean the property when you leave unless you pay an additional £40 in which case we will arrange cleaners for you. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen can be provided at a cost of £10 for a double bed and £7 for a single. You will need to bring your own towels. A cleaning service can be provided at the end of your stay for a cost of £50, or you can clean yourself if you prefer. Other: Ground floor dining/living room with a large dining table and bed settee to increase the sleeping capacity if required.
