Cordes-sur-ciel is an absolute must. Take 'Le Petit Train' to the top and wander about the many little boutiques and ateliers before taking lunch in one of the panoramic restaurants overlooking the stunning countryside.

St Antonin's Sunday market, held along the picturesque medieval streets (where the films 'Charlotte Grey' and 'One Hundred Foot Journey were filmed) is atmospheric and lively. There are centres for hiring kayaks, a four hour gentle descent along the Aveyron gorge, picnicking along the way and a minibus to bring you back.
