This traditional stone cottage retains many of its original features such as oak beams and stone walls and has been sympathetically restored to an exceptionally high standard with marble tiles and oak flooring. It provides ideal accommodation for a couple seeking to get away from it all.
Set in a quiet hamlet, the cottage consists of one large bedroom, one large en suite shower room, a large open plan lounge, modern fitted kitchen and dining area.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave.
The lounge has a television and a dvd player.
Outside there is a morning terrace where you can take coffee beneath a shady grapevine and a very pretty private courtyard, perfect for evening drinks and outside dining.
There is also a garden and pool. The pool area is shared with one other cottage.
Set on the edge of the Aveyron gorge, these two stone cottages have been sympathetically renovated to a high standard and retain many original features. The cottages share a swimming pool and both have their own private dining terraces. They are set in a quiet hamlet 5 minutes from Laguepie where you will find a boulangerie, mini-market, restaurants and bars. Situated between Najac and Cordes this is an ideal base for sight-seeing and activities such as kayaking, river swimming, walking, cycling, horse riding, wine tasting etc. Historic cities of Albi, Montauban, St Antonin-noble-val ((the location for Steven Spielberg's 2014 film starring Helen Mirren) and Toulouse are within easy reach as is the wine region of Gaillac and the Lot valley.
Trevor & Sue have been running a property renovation business in the Midi-ÿrenees since 2002 specialising in the renovation of stone barns and corps de hermes. They bought Acacia and Jasmine cottages in 2007 when they were totally derelict and lovingly restored them to their current high standard.
Trevor has been a builder since 1988 and has also worked as a free lance journalist publishing a collection of columns about his experiences working in France entitled 'Vive la Rénovation' in 2007.
Sue used to specialise in welfare benefits, working over the years for various local governments and solicitors but now manages the running of the holiday cottage business while Trevor continues his contracting and property development business.
Trevor and Sue Morris purchased this cottage in 2007
Old hands at holidaying in France we thought we knew it all & have been bound over by discovering the Tarn et Garonne. We love it here & our enjoyment has been complete with staying in your lovely, comfortable & well-appointed gite. You too have been friendship itself & we cannot thank you enough for the warmth of your welcome. The peace & quiet & the beauty of the countryside have been a tonic & we've loved every minute. We arrived at Sue and Trevor's cottage at the beginning of June 2015 staying in Acacia for 8 nights. The cottage was delightfully situated in a truly tranquil setting.Trevor and Sue had renovated and furnished the cottage to a high standard and it was equipped with everything that was needed. Sue was very welcoming on our arrival and both Trevor and Sue were on hand if anything was needed and more than ready to make the holiday as enjoyable as possible. We had a great time exploring the area and visited several places of interest . The pool was ideal and refreshments were available if needed.....we thoroughly enjoyed the Magnums !!! Thanks Sue and Trevor we are thrilled to have discovered your little haven and would be more than ready to recommend Acacia to anyone. Kind regards Hilary and Robert
A wonderful and relaxing place to holiday, Acacia Cottage has been beautifully renovated and decorated; it is, in every single way, the best place we have ever stayed in. Having rented many different holiday homes, gites and cottages in a variety of countries across Europe, none of them even come close to the outstanding standards of Acacia Cottage. The attention to detail in the way the cottage is presented and equipped is astonishing - Sue and Trev really have thought of absolutely everything! Even before arriving, we had been so impressed with the way Sue ran the booking process and we were delighted to discover that everything was equally well organised when we got there; nothing had been left to chance. Sue and Trev were the perfect hosts - friendly and welcoming, without ever being intrusive, and a delight to chat to. Acacia Cottage is the benchmark against which all other gites should be judged - I would love to say more, but I have run out of superlatives! Congratulations Sue & Trev, you have created a truly special place - thank you for a wonderful holiday!
We cannot congratulate Sue and Trevor enough on the fantastic job they have done renovating these two beautiful cottages. Everthing has been finished to the highest standard, with complete attention to detail, being clean, modern and fully equipped whilst at the same time retaining many of the building's quirky historical features. Sue and Trevor have even added that extra touch with an interesting written and photographical summary of the history of the buildings.
We were made to feel completely at home and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The cottages are located in a beautiful part of France, with stunning views of the valley from the swimming pool area. You are within easy reach of the many picturesque villages and towns of this region - Cordes sur Ciel being our personal favourite.
We would definately recommend these cottages without any hesitation and would certainly re-book if planning to visit this area again.

Hat's off to Sue and Trevor. The gite was excellent, full of character but with all the mod cons and the quality of a 5 star hotel. Set in a rural hamlet just outside of the picturesque town of Laguepie, the location gave us the peace and quiet we wanted but within easy reach of shops and amenities and places to visit. The pool area was beautifully built with lovely views. Highly recommend, one of the best (if not the best) gites we've rented. Thanks Sue & Trevor
