White walled Spanish style, sunny property on the well established development Oasis de Capistrano. With an abundance of lush semi tropical plants and vibrant cascading bougainvillea, lining tiled walkways that lead down towards an impressive indoor & outdoor restaurant bar (temporary kiosk 2014) overlooking 1 of the 3 pools that are on site. Oasis de Capistrano is built overlooking the Mediterranean with the stunning backdrop of Sierra Nevada mountain range to the rear. This property, Bay Tree villa, on Tetuan, has 2 bedrooms plus bathroom, large lounge, air con(coin op) and ceiling fans, full cable TV/WiFi package including Sky Sports, fully fitted kitchen and large patio with wall mounted sun blind and patio furniture. Vines hang over the enclosed garden with sweet tasting grapes that can be picked when ripe.

About the Owner

Originally purchased the property in 2002 after falling in love with Oasis when on our own holiday. Looking forward to being able to spend more winters in Nerja after retirement in a few years time. Originally jointly owned by Geoff and Pat Nicholls together with 2 close friends but a few years ago the friends sold their share to another pal, Dave Piranzi, who had also enjoyed his trips over to the property as a guest. We now get over when ever we can, together or separately.

Scotty and Sally's stay at Baytree villa

Upon arrival, the villa was clean and welcoming. The villa itself is very spacious and light, positioned in a very convenient location close to a variety of amenities. The local people are extremely friendly and especially helpful in the bars, restaurants and shops. The atmosphere was peaceful yet entertaining with plenty to see and do. The bus into town runs frequently and is very close to the villa. The beach is also close by, the weather was excellent so get your culottes out and head to the beach! We loved it so much, we have booked to go again September.

Carnt keep away

Stayed Feb this time as usually July as was desperate in need of a relaxing break. Short notice booking was not a problem and yet again comunication with Geoff the owner was quick and efficent. The apartment was again cleaned and ready on arrival and everything available for yet another enjoyable stay.Spent alot of time sunbathing on the balcony. Had the most chilled out break in a long time and feels like home now.Returning again in July.Sumary. Bay Tree Villa

This was our second visit to the villa which is situated on a picturesque complex and this time we stayed for two weeks. It is well situated, just a short bus ride into Nerja town. The people are very friendly and there are lots of good restaurants and bars. The villa is well presented and has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other two singles, and there's also a fold down settee in the lounge which can sleep two. Outside there's a large patio area which isn't overlooked and which has a BBQ. We hired a car and had a trip to the Alhambra in Granada, went to Malaga for the day by bus and visited many local towns and markets. I'm sure we will be going back.

Beautiful complex, relaxing and felt very private.

Geoff the owner was extremely helpful. He gave me lots of info. about the property and the area. He also organized a taxi from the airport. The Villa was set in a beautiful location, my 10 year old daughter couldn't stop commenting about the beautiful flowers. The villa was clean spacious and felt very private. The only thing I would change would be to have an air conditioning unit in the bedrooms. We were there when it was very hot. The pool was lovely with a pool guard and small but very friendly bar next to it. There is a short cut to Burriana beach which worked really well and Geoff had some beach equipment at the villa to use. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it.

Peaceful relaxing ,secure complex & fab gardens

Feels like home!! Very well equipped apartment with plenty of room for 6. Bedding and towels are provided which were lovely and clean. Loved the BQ which gave us lots of cheap chill out nights with the family without the need to venture out. Fresh grapes from the vines for breakfast was one of my favourites,A lovely big wind out canopy so if needed to protect yourselves from the sun was great which also kept the apartment cool too, Sun loungers on the veranda were full size ones with cushions on which were lovely to chill out on..Fab location which lets you enjoy the peaceful tranquil gardens with 3 pools, yet in walking distance to beech,bars and 2 supermarkets which are very well stocked with plenty of English brands for the fussy ones like my daughter.. An easy flat stroll into town which takes about 25 mins with plenty of gift shops, tapas bars and restraunts. The town is full of family's and not a drunk insight, we have left there at 2 am and the streets are still full of people just walking around with young family's and feels so safe, not in anyway a town full of party goers,but then there is locations on the edge of town if wanting more of a heavy night out.. I've travelled with 14 yr olds and 19 yrs olds and enough going on to keep them all happy. On market days it's a steady 10 min walk to local market from the apartment so easy to nip out from apartment to have a browse, The beach is also quiet and not fighting for space and this was in the busy period, beech activities were going on through the day but to be quite honest the complex is so beautiful that we were happy to remain there through the day then hit the beach area in an evening for a drink and a meal. We are returning again next year which will be our 3rd consecutive year here and have no interest to move elsewhere at the moment until I've toured the whole area. Geoff the owner who I've never had the pleasure to meet but constantly texted and emailed him has always been efficient with replying and assisting us with local information and guidance. I would defiantly recommend this apartment if your looking for more of a home type holiday rather than a package holiday!!

Quiet development and yet within a 15 minute walk from beach and town plus restaurants and bars. Oasis is full of cascading bougainvillea, vines, pine trees and open grassed areas. Oasis has white walled properties with various steps leading to the restaurant, pools.

Mountain climbing & walking is within 15 minutes stroll. Scuba diving, water skiing, wind surfing, cycling can all be arranged locally.


Nearest beach, Burriana 15 minutes stroll down cliff path (not suitable for small children). This is fine sand and some pebbles and deck chairs & umbrellas can be hired. Many other beaches within 15 min by car.


Malaga airport is 45min by car. A car is not essential as many local buses will get you around but a car allows visits to some of the interesting out of the ways mountain villages. A pre-arranged taxi will cost around 50euros or by bus approx. 8euro total.


Nerja caves 3km. Maro 2km. Frigiliana 10km. Torrox Costa 12km. Velez Malaga / Torre del Mar 25km.

Further Details:

Nearest supermarket is only 8 min walk. Bakers Bar, Burriana. Great food. English owner. 3 large flat screens for sport events. Book for food on popular occasions.

From the Owner

The property was known as Bay Tree villa because of the large bay tree in the garden that acted as welcoming shade over the large patio. Unfortunately the tree was attacked by over zealous gardeners and died a few years ago. We therefore had a wind-out sun blind fitted. From the patio the Meditteraean can be seen unless the affore mentioned gardeners have not pruned the many trees in the area! Because the area is protected from the north by the Sierra Nevada mountains Nerja has a micro-climate of soft dry air and lies in one of Spain's richest farming areas, know as the 'Garden of Europe'.

  • Notes on accommodation: Ceiling fans provide ample cooling plus coin operated air con for those really hot days. Wall mounted sat. TV. All English channels including Sky/BT. Outside: Large walled patio/garden area. The lockable rear gate opens into a garden area with vines and edible grapes hanging over the walls. A few steps lead up to an L shaped patio with bbq, wall lighting and external electrical sockets. A full wind-out sun blind provides shade and patio furniture including large table, 6 chairs, sun loungers, separate umbrella are all provided. Patio doors to both bedrooms plus 2 sets to the lounge all have lockable grills allowing secure ventilation. The nearest pool is 3 minutes walk down steps and is overlooked by the restaurant bar. A children's pool is just below this and another larger pool is 3 minutes in the other direction and can be seen from the patio across the open green area outside the property. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen provided plus bath & hand towels. Beach towels not included. Property cleaned prior to arrival and during long term lets if pre-arranged.
