About the Owner

We live in Spain and own and manage Casita de Alba, Casa Almareka and Casa Susana. We do all our own maintenance and cleaning to ensure our villas are in perfect condition and spotlessly clean for our guests. I was a City Business woman until I found Casita de Alba in Jesus Pobre and from that day I knew I wanted to live there. I put my heart and soul into reforming the villa and made it into a luxurious, comfortable, welcoming home. We have had some wonderful times with many clients who come regularly over the years and who have enjoyed our properties.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this charming , private & beautifully maintained villa. Very comfortable with wonderful pool and gardens.

There is everything you could need for a holiday and the villa is more like a home from home.

We would love to return next year

Peaceful, beautiful with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Susan's villa in late May 2016 with my husband and 9 year old son. From my initial enquiry, Susan couldn't have been more helpful and professional. The booking process was easy - Susan kept me updated and provided me with a comprehensive list of instructions and directions to see us safely arrive at our villa.

We were greeted on arrival by both Susan and Nick and we knew we were going to have a wonderful holiday. The villa is beautiful, it is homely immaculately clean and probably the best equipped villa we have ever stayed in.

The pool is a great size very secluded and set in lovely gardens - this villa really has everything you could possibly need to unwind and enjoy a relaxing holiday. The villa is within walking distance to Jesus pobre where you can some lovely restaurants. We hired a car and explored the surrounding areas of Javea, Denia and even drove to the beautiful city of Valencia for the day. We had a wonderful time and will certainly return again. Thanks so much Susan and Nick for your hospitality and looking forward to seeing you again.

A very relaxing and perfect family holiday

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Almareka and return to this area. We chose to return here as we love the ease and relaxed feel of the villa which is very private and has a great sized pool. The owners are very helpful too if you need them.

Jesus Pobre is perfectly located, only 15 mins from Denia for relaxed evening meals and drinks, there is a decent sized supermarket 5 mins away and bigger shopping mall 10 mins away if you want to escape the heat. This is definitely our go to place in Costa Blanca!

Clean, well equipped, brilliant pool, beautiful secluded garden, very good service from owners.

This is our second visit to Casa Almareka. Once again the casa has offered us a most relaxing and peaceful holiday enjoying the sunshine, the villa and the pool for a 3 week stay this time around.

Sue and Nick are discreet but attentive owners, always available to help when required. The villa sits on the outskirts of Jesus Pobre, a charming small, very Spanish village with a great Sunday market.

I'd recommend this property to couples and small families with youngish children - i.e. those who can be trusted around the pool area.

I'm sure we'll be back for more.

Superb Villa and Surroundings

  • 5 of 5

Our third stay at this wonderful villa. Lovely location with views to the Montgo mountain, The Villa has it's own beautiful floodlit pool, totally private and secluded with prety, well maintained gardens. The Villa is very clean and well equipped. The local village is just a short walk away and has delightful bars, restaurants, supermarket and a bakery and a wonderful Sunday market. There are a number of Restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The owners Sue & Nick are amazing and so helpful and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble.

Denia and Javea are about a 15 minute drive away and have good beaches, bars and restaurants.

We have already booked to return next year.

Location

From the Owner

When I first saw Casa Almareka I knew I wanted to buy it 1 day, but the owners did not want to sell and I could not afford it so I said to the owner, please give me first refusal if you ever want to sell. From that moment I kept saving. 1 day I had a phone call from the owner saying they had to return to the UK and was I still interested.I jumped for joy and rushed to the bank to ask for a bridging loan (you could in those days!) All went well and in July 1987 the keys were in my hands. It was a wonderful feeling and I set about restoring, changing, updating and had the time of my life. My 1st clients loved there stay in Casa Almareka and I have continued to upgrade and modernise without changing the character of this truly charming villa. I also have Casita de Alba & both are great.

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

Javea is a beautiful coastal resort that offers a glorious expanse of golden sand on the Arenal Beach and a restaurant for every taste & pocket. There are water sports, sand sculptures, a collection of shops and only a short 7km drive away. The long stretches of golden beach that can be found in Denia are truly stunning and there is much to see at the bustling marina & port.

Travel:

Alicante and Valencia Airports are approximately 1 hour drive away.

Distances:

The village of Jesus Pobre is only a short walk away. Javea and Denia are a 7km drive. Moraira is about 20 minutes away and more beaches and shops can be found at Calpe and Altea or the Theme Park, Terra Mitica at Benidorm is only 40 minutes away.

Further Details:

The quaint village of Jesus Pobre has a bakers for that wonderful fresh baked bread each morning and also a couple of small supermarkets which tend to be located in the homes of the owners who run them. Reminiscent of our local corner shops. The Bank, hairdressers, supermarkets, beautician, bars & restaurants are virtually all in the main street. Sunday Artisan market with a meal at La Tasca should not be missed. Great Atmosphere.
