Our spacious 2-bedroom apartment is situated in the high-quality private Condominio Costa de Prata development on a quiet road in a peaceful location, yet just minutes to the lovely beach, restaurants, bars etc. "FREE SUPERFAST UNLIMITED WI-FI" is available free of charge, so a big bonus against many other apartments in the area. This modern contemporary furnished apartment benefits from being on the 2nd (top floor), which we feel is the best position and enjoys a commanding view of the area, and just a few steps below the communal roof terrace. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, 2x bedside cabinets, built in sliding wardrobes, a dressing table with mirror and lamp and floor to ceiling window and door which opens out onto the large balcony. The living room has floor to ceiling windows and doors, so keeps the apartment light and airy and opens out onto the large 13.30 west-facing balcony with built-in brick BBQ, so you can enjoy the afternoon sun, watch the sunset and enjoy the BBQ dining on the balcony.

There is also a smoke alarm together with a carbon monoxide alarm for added peace of mind. The apartment is fully registered with the local tourist authority, so has been checked for safety and fire regulations.

All windows have black-out external roller shutters, which are great for keeping the light out when sleeping and provide extra security. Travel cot and high-chair available at no extra charge, but please provide your own cot bedding. Please note: The apartment can sleep 4 persons comfortably in the two bedrooms + infants. The sofa in lounge can open out to a double bed to sleep two more guests. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, ample plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery etc. A coffee cafetiere, stove top coffee maker and even a smoothie maker are included. Hair dryer is also available. Outside: This development of 54 apartments in 3 separate blocks are set in private well-maintained grounds with a shared swimming pool. The balcony benefits from having a built in brick BBQ, (a big advantage over other apartments in town). Each block also has a communal roof-top terrace again with built-in BBQ and has great views of the surrounding area. Perfect for chilling out or sunbathing all day. A secure underground designated parking space for 2x cars with remote fob access is also provided. Lift access from carpark to right outside apartment door. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning before and after stay is included in the price. All linen and towels are included, together with beach towels, no need to bring these, so saves valuable space and weight in suitcase. Extra cleaning can be arranged if required for an extra charge. Other: Spacious hallway with video phone to entrance door. Ample space to store prams. Built-in floor to ceiling cupboards. Double doors leading to lounge from hallway. Good value, clean & comfy

Apartment is light & airy with comfy beds & most equipment needed- few more cleaning cloths and teaspoons would be good! With only one bathroom though for 4 adults needed organising! Outlook not brilliant but 10 minute walk to town & also to beach so quite convenient.

Bonito apartamento y bien equipado

En primer lugar, la persona que recibe a los ocupantes del apartamento debería hablar portugués ya que se trata de una propiedad en territorio portugués, y no solamente inglés.

En segundo lugar, el recibimiento no fue nada grato pues a la hora de la llegada, a la que acordamos que yo llamaría al movil de la señorita encargada de recibirnos, ésta lo tenía desconectado, lo cual nos creó bastante desconfianza. Hemos tenido que llamar al teléfono del dueño para que éste la llamase y por fin hiciera su aparición dicha srta.

Nuestra estancia ha sido muy agradable ,el apartamento muy nuevo ,limpio y cuidado . Tiene una piscina y esta relativamente cerca de todo, nosotros para movernos por pueblo e ir a la playa no cogíamos el coche . Lo recomiendo

The beautiful 2k wide crescent shaped fine sandy beach is only a 7 minute stroll away. This is one of the best (if not the best beach in Portugal). The sand is beautiful and soft and is perfect for families as the bay is sheltered so no waves. At the southern end of the beach is the spectacular sand dunes. Children love trying to climb to the top and run down them. There is also a Lido (large open air swimming pool) here. The wooden boardwalks at the beach edge are perfect for a romantic stroll.


Nearest airport is Lisbon, which is 1 hour away by car, or 1 hour 20 minutes by bus from Lisbon bus station. The bus stop is about 1K from the apartment. Porto is about 2.5 hours away by car.

Car hire not essential as airport transfers can be arranged to and from Lisbon airport for a very reasonable €100 each way.


Caldas da Rainha - the nearest large town, about 15 minutes by car, has many large supermarkets nearby and is a good place to visit for shopping, has a cinema and bowling alley.

Foz de Arelho - 10 minutes away to the south, has a lagoon with a wide sandy beach, a chilled out place, beach bars, popular with surfers.

Nazarre - 10 minutes to the north is a busier beach town with a fishing heritage.

Obidos - historic medieval walled town, 20 minutes away, a great place for children to explore.

Further Details:

Food welcome pack and meet and greet service available for €25. Handy if arriving late in evening.

There is a local town market open until 1 pm every day except Monday. The market specializes in locally caught fish and fresh fruit and vegetables and is a good place to try speaking a few words of Portuguese.

The tourist office is located in the centre of town and has free internet access available.

The post office, police station, mini-market and bank are also close by and a large Supermarket is located on the edge of town.

If you are an active person, then Sao Martinho do Porto is a great place for running, cycling and hiking. Please feel free to ask about routes.

Many other sports and activity's are available in and around the surrounding area, such as jet-skiing in the summer months, horse riding, surfing, paragliding, boat trips etc. There is also a go-carting track at the nearby town of Caldas and a great organic wine tasting Lodge at Cortem.

As of February 2014, BBC and ITV repositioned their satellites, and Portugal and Spain lost access to all their programs. There are programs in English but not for the main UK channels.

Changeover Day:
