The very pretty front garden fronts the tiny village green with views to Roova Crags.

About the Owner

I am a farmer's wife who bought this property with an eye to retiring there - though retirement seems to be receding faster and faster! Although we farm in Wensleydale and Nottinghamshire I see to all the changeovers myself, which has worked very well over the years.

I think Manor House chose us. As soon as we walked into the property we felt at home and all renovations have been done with our retirement dream in mind. Though only fifteen minutes from the town of Leyburn, West Scrafton is truly rural, very peaceful and with friendly residents.

Leeds/Bradford Airport 35 miles. Newcastle Airport 55 miles. Northallerton Station 20 miles. A car is essential.


Leyburn 7 miles. Middleham 5 miles. The Forbidden Corner 4 miles.

Middleham - small shop, garage, pubs and restaurants.

The Forresters Arms, Carlton, is a successful community pub providing good food and drink in a friendly atmosphere.

Fridays changeover. Arrival after 3.00pm. Departure before 10am.

Notes on prices:
Prices may be altered at the owner's discretion.
Short breaks from £350. Take no notice of additional night listing - the new pricing system has become overcomplicated and nonsensical!

Full payment if booked within six weeks of arrival otherwise 10% deposit with the balance six weeks before arrival.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.

Manor House is a walker's delight in that one has only to cross the village road and one is onto the moors. The many footpaths around the village cater for all abilities whilst for the less active such attractions as The Hidden Corner or watching the racehorses exercise on the Middleham Gallops are only a few minutes away.
