About the property

Apartment very close to Morne Rouge beach. St Georges, Grenada, Caribbean - Beautiful Morne Rouge beach is very close to the apartment.

Number 4 is a family home that we love to share. It comes with 2 kayaks and snorkelling gear. The garden is nestled in the hillside with sunbathing and eating areas and a view of the bay. Both bedrooms are individually themed with handmade designer quilts. There are iPod decks and a TV for video use. Both the en-suite bathrooms have full size baths and Hasbro showers. Bath robes and hair dryers are provided. The kitchen is well equipped. The inside\outside lounge has a large sofa and comfy chairs and coffee tables. The apartment is cared for and cleaned by Adris who visits most days. A small welcome pack will be at the apartment on your arrival. We can organise a driver who will meet you and return you to the airport if required.

About Bridget Sherwen

Recently retired from owning family run tourist attractions in the south east this has been our sanctuary away from the crowds for the past eleven years .Our fantastic house keeper has been with us all these years and is part of our family .Adris knows we need to unwind and chill out and that's exactly what we do .

My husband first came to Grenada as second engineer on a super yacht when he was twenty and loved it .Our first holiday together we visited mourne rouge on a cruise ship not realising we would buy a condo there five years later !!

The beach is a couple of minutes away ,its quiet ,safe ,the views are breath taking but all the time you are only a ten minute walk away from the shopping mall, restaurants ,hotels ,health spas and grand Anse beach where all the beach toys and snorkelling and sailing are available.For us the perfect destination.

Notes on accommodation: There is wifi. A local mobile phone is provided with useful numbers programmed into it, but it needs to be topped up from the local phone shop near the supermarket. There is a small safe in the apartment There is a large stock of DVD's for the television unit and plenty of books to enjoy. Some games are also provided. Outside: A new deck and furniture provides a good area for sunbathing Table and chairs for outside eating are on the deck. There is a colourful flower garden which attracts lots of birds, small geckos and butterflies. An outside shower is also in the garden, useful when returning from the beach. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen is provided, except beach towels. The lovely Adris comes in five mornings a week to do cleaning and water the garden etc. She would babysit ( but please negotiate that directly with her).

Great Location

The best thing about this property is the location. Two excellent beaches, one at the bottom of the stairs and the famous Grand Anse beach 200 yards in the other direction. An investment of about $200 could change this apartment from Good to Great. Only one 110V outlet for 5 people with phones, computers ect, and the absence of TV service ( no cable or over the air), prevents me from giving it 5 Stars. Internet was good, bedrooms, living room was also good, Kitchen, well equipped, the poach and garden area, excellent. We hung hammocks from the trees and swayed in the gentle breeze. It is Very Good but could be GREAT with just a few minor changes.

Owner's Response: thank you so much for your review and I sincerely take on board your suggestions . .We have tried very hard to make Number 4 a holiday retreat where you can relax and unwind .There are over a hundred DVDs and we have a library of books which if you are reading one when you leave we just ask you leave another in its place . We did look at satellite tv , game consuls etc but decided against them as it goes against the whole ethos behind what we were trying to create .A place that so many couples and families over the past twelve years have been able to chill out and escape the fast hi tech world we live in for quality time together on holiday.. A great find in Morne Rouge

The location and property were excellent. The owner provided so many helpful hints and the neighbors, housekeeper, transfer driver and caretaker were incredible. I wish that there had been an indoor living room, as the mosquitoes got me regularly- but that’s why I had bug spray. There are great places to eat nearby and the beach is incredible. To any future visitor, bring earplugs, as the beach disco music is loud a few nights a week. All I. All, an awesome stay!

Perfect escape!

My wife and I enjoyed an amazing week in Grenada based at this condo with our two young girls. It's the perfect size for a family of four with an ideal location for exploring the island. We wandered around on nearby Morne Rouge beach daily. Several nice restaurants were within a short walk. Thanks much to Bridget for sharing your place!

Close to beaches but there are 94 steps down to beach. No views

This apt was a pretty big disappointment. As advertised it said it had a view but that was if you stand on your tippy toes. It said a few steps to the beach but it was 94 steps down to beach. The apt is very dark with horrible lights. Kitchen was basically unusable because it was so dark. The maid Adres was delightful to work with. The sewer smell in the master bed was horrible.

Excellent location of flat close to beach

Flat is really close to beach, feels safe, has nice terrace garden and outside lounge, big bedrooms and aircon and is well equipped. Beach is lovely, very safe, and not that busy even at Christmas. Adris the maid came and cleaned and tidied which is very useful. The kitchen needs more electric lighting for the evening, I've emailed the owner to suggest this. It is close to supermarket and other beaches and marinas. You probably need a hire car or you'd have to take local taxis.

Very comfortable with a perfect location

The unit was comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect--so close to the Mourne Rouge Beach, with restaurants and beach bars quite nearby.

Location

Coast/Beach:

Mourne Rouge beach is 2 minutes walk away at the bottom of the steps. It has white sand, and the sea is warm clear witha gentle shelving beach. It is not a busy beach however the Rum Runner from St Georges visits with cruise ship passengers. This brings local colour for a time on some afternoons. Grenada's world famous 2 mile beach of Grande Anse is just over the headland ten minutes walk away. Many hotels and bars are there for your delight.

Travel:

The airport is ten/fifteen minutes from the apartment

Distances:

The main town of St Georges is 10/15 minutes drive away in a taxi or hire car.

There are many local buses from the supermarket area. Driving in Grenada is on the left hand side and roads are mostly good.

There are forests, waterfalls and gardens in the centre and many other lovely beaches to visit.

There are some interesting plantations growing chocolate (an island speciality) and various spices (Grenada is the Spice Island) that are well worth a visit.

There are two scuba diving schools very close by

There is a nine hole golf course near St Georges.

Sailing boats..mostly catamarans..can be hired from the hotels on Grand Anse beach...10 minutes walk away.

The Spice Island Mall is a shopping precinct with supermarket, bank, phone shop, etc is about 10 minutes walk (maybe 15mins in the heat of Grenada)

Local restaurant in short walking distance, also the beach bar is great for lunches.

There is a book in the apartment with all the information you will need about the apartment, the area and the island of Grenada.
