Little Acorn

What a lovely spacious cottage, so peaceful and charming. We spent a lovely quiet weekend here unfortunately the weather was awful but that can't be helped. Our 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves too especially meeting the pigs! The enclosed garden area meant it was safe for them to wander outside and we all enjoyed walking around the fields seeing all the animals. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage.

Superb holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is absolutely perfect, spotlessly clean, charmingly decorated and beautifully situated in glorious countryside. We stayed for six nights and loved being able to look straight out onto alpacas, goats and chickens. We were able to walk our Labrador around the smallholding and the lake and enjoy the peace and the views. Hailsham is convenient for take away meals and Eastbourne, Bexhill, and Hastings are all a short drive away, Brighton is slightly further but still an easy drive. We had a lovely holiday, thank you Karen and Glen.

Old fashioned summer weekend

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely perfect. The photos do not do the cottages justice, much more spacious and luxurious- towels and bathroom products plus fresh eggs, tea and coffe. We (my teenage son, lively Jack Russell and I) arrived to a spacious, light and beautifully decorated cottage. Clean fresh and welcoming! We spent two blissful days hanging by the small Lake, messing about on boats and generally leaving the world behind us. Close enough to decide to drive to Bexhill on sea for fish n'chips for supper. Owners friendly, relaxed and helpful. I'm not telling anybody about this place as I want to be able to come again!!! Oops already Facebooked it and my friendsand family have phoned even before I was home! Great for small families or couples! Thank you Karen and Glen.

Owner's Response: Thankyou for such a lovely review. I would just like to add that as a rule we don't normally allow the use of the lake, boat etc but as we were out on this occasion we were happy for our guests to use it.

Perfect holiday home

  • 5 of 5

A lovely retreat. So peaceful, a real gem. Very clean, tastefully decorated with a lovely homely feel. The best bed we've ever slept in!! Very friendly owners, who leave you to do your own thing. Perfect location to explore that part of Sussex, there's lots to see. Would thoroughly recommend these holiday homes.

Excellent place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We can only echo the comments of the other good reviews that are on this page and in the guest book. I cannot understand the poor review at all as it is clear that Karen and Glen put a lot of effort into running this property. The place was very well decorated, well maintained and spotless. The pictures do not do it justice - it is a lot bigger than they suggest so it was a nice surprise to us . It is the perfect place to relax in and if our children were with us - and younger - they would have loved the animals. We were only there for the week and, had I not had other commitments, would have booked another week there and then as it was vacant. The property was well located for all the areas we wanted to look at so we did not spend too much time travelling anywhere. The property is situated far enough away from their house to have privacy but close enough if we needed help for any reason. Whilst we do not have pets, the people staying in the cottage next door did, and it was clear that the accommodation was very suitable for people with animals. We would thoroughly recommend this property to stay in.
