Excellent just as described

The property was very spacious, very clean, and had everything you needed. Comfortable beds, beautiful views from both balconies. I would recommend this property as a lovely location. People around were very friendly.

Lovely Setting

Spacious apartment split over two floors,everthing you need is all to hand including iron and ironing board,washing machine etc.Loads of storage space too,downstairs toilet and shower,bedroom,lounge and kitchen,lovely balcony overlooking the fantastic gardens and pool.Upstairs two more bedrooms and family bathrrom,balcony off the master bedroom with great sea views.Easy walk to the beach and to the shops and banks and bars over the road bridge.Plenty of good places to eat both Spanish and English.Bus stop at the end of the road too,so no need for a hire car if you want a break from driving.Ideally situated to visit Marbella,Puerto Banus and see how the other half live on their super yaughts etc.Mijas is also well worth a visit,with stunning sea and mountain views.So much to see and do locally,if you desire or equally lots of places to chill,relax and enjoy the lovely pool and very well kept grdens,

Great Location

The apartment was clean,spacious and well laid out,over two floors.

Plenty of storage with all the equipment you would need.

We loved the terraces which all had lovely views of the garden,pool and glimpses of the sea.Great for keeping an eye on the children if they are old enough to swim on their own.

La mar de Calahonda is located in a quiet street,two minutes walk to the beach which was mostly sandy with the addition of a few rockpools to add to the fun.Just a short stroll along the beach(right hand side) is the Royal beach chirringito(Pirate bar) Great for sunset Sangrias while the children play, has a great chilled out atmosphere.

Supermarkets are about 10 minutes walk away,over the footbridges and some nice places to eat etc.

If you want a night in, order great pizzas from Cabopizza,they have a reasonably priced menu and kids meals plus they deliver so you can lounge on the terrace!

Marbella is easy to reach by bus(cheap fares and comfortable)You can easily walk to the bus stop, they run till around 10 or 11 pm.We also caught two buses into Mijas Pueblo(beautiful town,put it on your must see list)The views are amazing.

Puerto Cabopino is a longer walk following the beach but it was worth the aching legs.Lots of nice restaurants and bars, plus the sand dunes behind Andy's Bar which were fun for the kids(lots of Lizards to spot there).Not too busy in May and perfect weather too!

So a perfect location for those who want a break from driving!

We would love to stay there again.

Hyggelig lejlighed, med dejlig have og børnevenlig pool.

Beliggenheds beskrivelse var fin nok, vi kom med taxa. Boligen var dejlig, rummelig og ren. Der er dog lidt problemer, som der næsten altid er sydpå, med afløb. Køkkenvask er på en eller anden måde forbundet med brusekabine på det lille badeværelse og kan give opstigning af vand i kabinen samt noget vand på gulvet. Det bør tjekkes. Ovenpå var der lugt af afløb på badeværelset om morgenen.

Bortset fra det, var vandtrykket ovenud godt.

Poolen var skøn og området rigtig hyggeligt og velplejet.

Meget fin kontaktperson, der var nem at forstå pr telefon.

Parasollen fungerede ikke, desværre. En rigtig god ide vil være at få etableret en markise, da terrassen er meget solrig, og en parasol alligevel ikke vil være tilstrækkelig til, at man kan sidde i skygge førend om aftenen.

Jeg vil bestemt anbefale lejligheden til andre, især med børn, der holder af at bade meget i en god pool.

Strandområdet med gangbroen var skøn til aftenture.

Ved booking får man tilsendt nogle meget fyldestgørende beskrivelser af alt.

Activity and Interests


Two minute walk to uncrowded, sandy beach. Beach restaurants and other facilities. Possible to walk to Cabopino nature reserve. Recently constructed walkway joining all local beaches.


30 minutes drive to Malaga airport. Taxi or public transport possible from airport.Also train to Fuengirola then bus or taxi, however the train is slow as it stops everywhere en route.

Parking outside property or in car park at the top of the road.


5 minutes walk to centre of Calahonda. Marbella, Malaga, Mijas and other places of interest within easy reach by bus or car. Granada is 2hrs drive away.

Further Details:

Banks,shops, supermarkets, bars and many restaurants within easy walking distance and water sports available from Pirate bar on the beach.
