Close to the towns of St Jean de Maurienne and Modane, this pretty hamlet village boasts a wealth of festivals and community activities throughout the Summer In the Winter, the apartment's proximity to the telecabine for the Three Valleys Ski Resort makes this village an ideal retreat at any time of year.

About the Owner

We bought this apartment with another family as we both identify that skiing and mountain biking is the best holiday you can have with your family especially as the children get older. We try to get out at least 3 times a year.

In the heart of the Maurienne Valley, Orelle is a very picturesque collection of hamlets. Access by air is simple because of the choice of airports. Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble and Turin are all within two hours drive. The Italian Riviera is less than 2 hours drive from the village and there is also a telecabine up to the Three Valleys ski resort. Although the village has plenty of visitors during the Winter ski season, the alpine climate during the summer make the area perfect for exploring the beautiful mountainside. Cycling is very popular in the area as the route of the Tour de France is just down the road and the ski lifts are adapted for mountain bikers. For culture and great restaurants there's a choice of Modane or St Jean de Maurienne, both within ten minutes drive from the village.

The lovely garden area just outside the apartment creates a perfect location for barbecues and entertaining. Throughout the Summer, there are plenty of festivals, fairs and outdoor pursuits to be kept busy with. Bike hire is readily available and both long and short mountain walks from the apartment are a must for any visitor. The proximity to the Vanoise National Park also make this village the ideal base for Refuge treks across the Alps. The ground floor apartment offers airy rooms with high ceilings and a beautiful mountain view. It features two good sized bedrooms with the capacity to sleep up to 8 people, a modern kitchen area and comfortable shower. Meals can be served in the living room with the backdrop of the Alps, or in the garden surrounded by the smells of the Vanoise.
