The best property ever
Thank you so much for the great review. It is lovely to receive such praise. We are delighted that you had such a wonderful time and that the effort we put into the house and garden are appreciated so much. Absolutely everyone loves the goats passing by twice a day.

The best property ever
We stayed in Casa Vick from10th-17th of September. It was 4 of us and we did use Owners Direct and properties in Andalusia for the past 2 years. This was our favourite !The location of the property is stunning but what surprised as the most were all the facilities outside and inside the house. Everything is kept immaculate and we just had the most amazing and relaxing time ever. The pool is great and we used it every day so was the barbecue .The extra attraction were the herd of goats which made it even more delightful .Thank you so much for letting as stay in your beautiful property.
From the moment we enquired about the villa, Mike was quick to respond and answered all our questions and nothing was too much trouble.
The villa is spacious and online photos don't do it justice. Beautiful views, and plenty outside space. We had fresh lemonade with the lemons from the garden, and being on the edge of a national park was stunning. The goats were a daily attraction, great excitement when we could hear the bells in the distance!
The villa is well stocked with cleaning fluids, hats, an umbrella for the beach and bits and pieces that others have left. Brilliant that there is even bags for grocery shopping.
We had gorgeous weather and temperatures of up to 35 so lots of time was spent in the lovely pool for which we were grateful. Air conditioning would have been a wee bonus to escape the heat at night but perhaps not beneficial at other times of the year which is perhaps why there is none. Fans helped a little.
We had an absolute ball and would like to thank Mike for our holiday. We would love to visit again soon, thank you :)
Homely villa in a great location - fantastic views
We thought the villa was in a great location for both the views and the peaceful surroundings, and really appreciated the homely feel of the villa itself.
We were also very grateful for the pool after our day trips out exploring the area in the lovely warm temperatures, which we were fortunate enough to experience every day of the holiday.
The 15km winding road trip up through the mountains certainly got our attention when we first experienced it, but over the holiday the twists and turns became more familiar, and much easier to negotiate (we actually found the 7207 down to Torrox more convenient to use on our trips out).
It was our first visit to this part of Spain, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time throughout our stay, and the opportunity to enjoy it whilst staying in this villa was much appreciated.
Restful Holiday and superb Villa. A++
We had a lovely stay at the Villa which is situated just outside Competa. Lovely location for a restful, peaceful break. The family enjoyed the variety of activities both around the villa and towards the coastal areas that where only 20 mins away.
The swimming pool was used every day, even on the one day it rained!!, and most days we used the bar-b-q also for eating around the pool.
Some days we just lazed at the Villa, other days we walked up the lovely mountains in the National park 5 minutes away and then other days we went to places like Nerja , Competa (walking distance!!) , Torrox to eat out . The beaches around Nerja are a definite must.... Maro and Canuelo Beach esp for the marine life, quiet beaches and snorkelling.
All in all the Villa was wonderful and the location excellent for any kind of person being it couples, families, Nature lovers, active bods, lazy bods, food lovers etc etc.
Like the other reviews, the homemade lemonade is a must and the goats where the icing on the cake as the Kids became adopted Goat herders by the end of it.
Muchas gracias Mike for such a lovely time away. ;-)
Villa is in a great location with stunning views down to the coast. We had glorious weather and the pool was heavenly. We used the BBQ virtually every day and it really was home from home. Having 2 bathrooms was a definite bonus too. Would definitely recommend this property.
Cant wait to go again
What a charming, tranquil, clean, private and well appointed villa and even nicer than the photos suggested. Set half way up the hillside with lovely views of the sweeping hills and valleys opposite. The villa is surrounded by mature olive, palm, orange, lemon and fir trees growing within the grounds as well as a variety of other exotic plants and backs onto the national park which gives it a lovely secluded feel. It has a large open plan lounge and dinning room not really shown to its best advantage in the photos, with a very efficient log burner which we used every night as it gets surprisinly cold in the evenings in March. It was so warm, cosy and romantic - a perfect location for our first holiday away together. The rooms were spotless and tastefully decorated.
We had breakfast every morning on the terrace overlooking the valley opposite and were not overlooked when sunbathing on the terrace by the pool. The pool looked inviting but was too cold for swimming in March.
I made fresh lemondade using the lemons in the garden. I loved the fact that the villa was 2 kms out of town along a small private road serving only a handful of other villas, so we had everythying close by but were not surrounded by other holidaymakers. One of the highlights of every day was watching a herd of around 100 goats walking past on their way to and from the mountain pastures, kept in check by several docile dogs and an elderly herdsman.
Competa is absolutely lovely, set on a mountainside with a myriad of small alleyways and all buildings were beautifully whitewashed. There is a lovely town square and good range of restraunts and bars in the town. It is an ideal location to visit other rural villages and towns and there are a range of outdoor activities available. Great for walking but also within 20 minutes of the coast for beaches and kayaking and more adventurous actvities like gorge jumping and caving. We went walking with an excellent guide called Hesus from Salamander Adventures based in the town.
I loved the villa, town and area and will definitely be going again soon.
Activity and Interests
Torrox costa is nearest beach about 15 Km drive taking around 20 minutes. It provides a clean beach and long promenade with many restaurants and bars.
The attractive and busy resort of Nerja is a further 10 minutes drive away.
Malaga airport is the nearest, 1hr 15 minutes by car. Granada is an alternative with a drive time of around 2 hours. The use of a car is really essential if staying at our villa.
Competa is 2km away taking 4/5 minutes by car or 20 minutes on foot.
A super area for mountain walking, pony trekking or just whiling the time away.
