Our property is a top floor penthouse apartment with 2 en-suite double bedrooms, open-plan living space with fully integrated kitchen/dining area and luxurious lounge with floor to ceiling windows and a balcony spanning the width of the apartment. Internet access is provided along with modern audio-visual facilities We have 2 designated parking spaces in the basement with lifts servicing all the floors. Within the complex there is a spa with sauna and jacuzzi, reception with a breakfast and bar area and a secure room for ski equipment. Situated at 1740m in a natural snow bowl, Obertaurn is an Austrian alpine village 55 minutes drive due south of Salzburg with an excellent snow record and long ski season from November to May. Home to the Austrian Olympic Ski training camp, Obertauern boasts over 100km of slopes. There is ski in/out access at the rear of the building and the nearest lift only 20m away. Ski shops, restaurants and ski school are only a couple of minutes walk away.
We had a fantastic week staying at Julie's apartment. There are very few apartments that you can book directly at Steinadler, but this is definitely one of the best! We were a family of three staying with grandparents and found the apartment very luxurious and spacious...it was even better than the photographs suggested! The full length balcony at the front was lovely to have and made for an additional play space for our four-year-old, as well as a great spot to enjoy the views and fresh mountain air. The staff at Steinadler were so helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. We'd also highly recommend the CSA ski school which you can book through Steinadler. Thanks for a great stay - we will definitely be back!
The only thing we'd do differently next time is to hire a car as the apartments are an uphill walk into town and this isn't very doable with young children. Taxis are 12 euros each way (no matter what time of day) into town, which is where the only supermarket is and where most of the restaurants and bars are. The buses that run through the town are infrequent so not practical unless you are very organised!
We returned to this apartment for the 2nd year running as we had such a great time last year. We travelled with 2 children (4 and 6) and they went to ski school. The ski school is highly recommended, English speaking instructors and the ski bus picks up and drops off right at the apartment. The children had a wonderful fun time leaving us to ski all day. Obertauern is a great resort with fantastic skiing, modern heated ski lifts (no queuing!), lovely restaurants. We booked airport transfers (only 1 hr from Salzburg) via www.habersatter-reisen.at/ and they were efficient and convenient. Can't beat this place, we will be back. We met some other people in Steinadler who had tried to book the apartment for the same week as us so it's getting popular, must get organised and book up for next year!
Just back from a great fun week with three girlfriends. The apartment was lovely, contemporary and stylishly furnished, but comfortable and cosy with a real ski-chalet charm with its wooden high-vaulted ceilings and sunny balcony with great views of the mountains. Spacious open plan living room and fully equipped kitchen/diner made self-catering easy, and a great pizzeria next door and resort centre is in easy reach for a good selection of restaurants and bars for nights out. There's a friendly ski hire shop next door and lifts right opposite so getting to the slopes is easy, great ski area too - will definitely be coming to stay here again!
All I can say is that if you're looking for a great ski trip, this ticks all the boxes.Well appointed apartment .Close to the lifts .Fantastic skiing .Great people .Fab après ski .All that and a close connection .

This apartment is absolutely fantastic! It is really well equipped and spacious. Right opposite ski lifts. Easy trip from the airport. Very helpful, English speaking staff and ski school reps. Obertauern is an amazing resort for all levels of skier and has great restaurants, bars and shops. We had an absolutely brilliant time staying here and would highly recommend it. We would definitely return to this apartment.
This apartment is in a great location just across the road from the ski lift where you can also buy your ski pass. You can ski back almost to the door, there is a ski hire shop and a restaurant next door so everything is on your doorstep. The apartment has a great view and a wide balcony and is spacious, clean and well equipped. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. Would definitely recommend it!

Saturday is the preferred changeover day with a minimum booking of 7 days in high season. In low season however this is flexible and we can do short breaks with varying arrival/departure dates depending on availability please just enquire.

Obligatory final cleaning is included in the price which is 99 Euros.
For persons aged from 15 years old it is also necessary to charge local taxes of 1.50 Euro per night which is payable locally on arrival
