Top Traveller Review

About the Owner

Based in East Manchester with our 15 year old daughter both my husband and I have busy schedules with work and spend a lot of time travelling, so we like nothing more than to escape to the peace and tranquility of the Lleyn Peninsula whenever we can, its an amazing part of the country.

We purchased Cae Ifan in summer 2010 after a long search for the right property. The cottage had been rented out or left empty on and off for a few years and was in a pretty sorry state!

We spent just less than a year completely renovating the cottage and we are really pleased with the final result which has given us a modern, comfortable family cottage whilst still retaining the character and charm of the original building.

Our first holiday on the Lleyn Peninsula. Cae Ifan was the perfect base. A really well equipped kitchen, lovely open plan living area and a safe garden for children and dogs. Our favourite spot was Porth Ysgo. We climbed up Yr Eifl and the views were amazing. A week wasn't long enough to discover everything the Lleyn has to offer. Thank you so much to the owner, Catherine, for always being available to help. Couldn't have asked for more.

Fantastic Long Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This was our second long weekend at Cae Ifan and again it was a fab stay. The cottage is cosy and well appointed with everything there that we needed. Cae Ifan is in a great area for exploring the Llyn Peninsula and beyond. We loved the proximity to the coastal path and to the great walks along this beautiful coastline. I would recommend this cottage to anyone and we will hopefully return in the future. Thanks Catherine and family for a lovely stay!

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous cottage, felt at home the moment we arrived. The pictures don't do it justice, just back from a 3 night break. Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated very comfy. Lovely garden, totally dog & child friendly. Catherine the owner very helpful, we had sleet, hail, rain, gale force winds & some sunshine. Regardless got out every day for walks. Porch was a real bonus for wet coats, boots & dog towels. Will definatly be back for another visit. Highly recommend.

Fantastic!

  • 4 of 5

We arrived on thdcfridsy afternoon in fine weather, explored the garden before even opening the door. We were all really happy with what we found.

Upon entering the cottage, we found a beautiful, well equipt cottage. We spent the afternoon playing the supplied board games and jigsaws. My children thought it was brilliant! So did we :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, exploring the local area and also using the community bus to go further to spend the day at Aberdaron.

I would highly recommend this cottage and owners, the cottage was great and the owners were helpful and full of advice for our stay.

We will be going back!

Perfect Long Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We can not say enough lovely things about Cae Ifan. We were four generations of girls in the family and each one of us loved our time there. The cottage has absolutely everything you need, whatever the weather. There are games, DVD's, bikes and all sorts of things to keep you occupied. It's is decorated beautifully and felt like home right away. Nefyn is a great little place to visit as there are gorgeous, quiet beaches everywhere. Coming back in the evening and getting cosy in front of the fire was heavenly. Thanks so much Catharine! We will definitely visit again during the winter.

WOW

  • 5 of 5

We are due to stay at this cottage in June 2014 , this will be our second visit to this beautiful cottage and we can't wait , we are three generations , ages 17 to 78 !. As said by other people Catherine , the owner . Is extremely helpful and has made her cottage a delight to stay in . If you have never been to this area you have missed out . It is beautiful , unspoilt , and is not full of tourists . The beaches which are a spit away are beautiful and rugged and the beach by the Ty Coch pub is your old fashioned gorgeous family beach with lovely soft sand .

Location

From the Owner

Apart from the obvious appeal of Cae Ifan as a quaint holiday cottage its location was perfect. Right in the heart of the village of Morfa Nefyn we can walk to the local shops in a matter of minutes, but our favourite thing about it is that we are right in the middle of the two beaches at Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn and can walk to either beach in 10-15 minutes which is absolutely great we love it!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Close to a large selection of beautiful beaches and scenic coastal walks. Just 10 minutes walk to the beach at Morfa Nefyn and Nefyn, and a pleasant stroll along the beach takes you to the popular Ty Coch Pub!

Distances:

Morfa Nefyn 1/4 mile. Nefyn 1 mile. Pwllheli 6 miles. Llanbedrog 9 miles. Abersoch 12 miles.
