At the end of a long private drive, a spacious country house offering very comfortable accommodation. Relax in the gardens, swim in the large pool, enjoy an evening barbecue, read undisturbed under an ancient olive tree or walk along the grounds picking fresh produce such as oranges, lemons, grapes, pomegranates, figs, or avocados; and you will find yourself unwinding completely in this authentic Andalucian finca.

Situated in an idyllic rural setting the property is nestled in the fertile Gualalhorce valley, and the surrounding lush green hills create a magical backdrop that could only be Spain. You will enjoy complete privacy and yet it is the ideal base for taking part in a huge variety of nearby activities such as golf, horse-riding, tennis, trekking, paddle tennis, clay pigeon shooting, quad bikes, motorbike enduro racing, coarse fishing, day tips to Tangiers in Morocco, bullfighting, and beach sports - and exploring local markets, fiestas, 'ventas', restaurants & bars.

We love our finca and are really delighted it gives so much pleasure to others when we are not able to enjoy it ourselves.

We chose it after many years of searching because it is the most calming, relaxing, and beautiful place we could find, because the views of the gentle valley and surrounding mountains is fantastic, and because we find the 100 olive trees and the 250 orange, tangerine, avocado trees an incredible boon.

And whilst we are there we are totally secluded and away form other tourists, yet we are 20-25 minutes from an international airport and 5 minutes from a beautifully kept typical Spanish town.

Outside: The property is gated and fenced for security. The house is surrounded by 200 sqm of terracing. The front terrace overlooks the garden and pool area and has a table and chairs under a parasol for shade, and space for the table tennis table if you choose. The back terrace overlooks the valley and boasts a ‘chillax’ area seating 8-10 on modern rattan furniture at one end and a marble-top table seating 8 and a modern gas BBQ at the other. One terrace is sunny in the morning and the other in the afternoon, ensuring there is always somewhere to sit to suit your needs, and both have peaceful private views of the surrounding hills. The 12m x 5.5m pool has a modern salt filtration system (non-chlorine), kinder to skin. It has an additional 2m x 2m area of wide, shallow steps, ideal for sitting on. 8 high spec sun-loungers are supplied. Utility Room: Washing machine. Second fridge-freezer (for the all-important cold drinks storage!). Iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is provided and property is cleaned between lets (and more frequently at extra cost). Please bring your own beach towels. Other: Large (20sq.m approx.) dining room with dining table for 8-10, modern sofa and sideboard. Window to garden and access to back terrace with BBQ.

A fantastic holiday

The initial booking process was very smooth and easy and all questions were answered promptly.

The property is In a lovely setting with fantastic views and the pool is the best we have had in the last 10 years, its a really good size and depth and seems to keep itself really clean without having to mess around with a cover.

The house is spacious and easily accommodated the 7 of us that stayed. There is plenty to do in the area and it isn't far from the coast / airport / Malaga / Puerto Banus etc. Would we stay again, yes definitely, so why only 4 stars ? There are a few things that I just didn't feel warranted a 5 star review. Don't let this put you off but you should be aware of them.

Despite the listing there is no Day Bed, we were really looking forward to using this and when we enquired as to where is was we were told that it had gone mouldy. If thats the case then the photo of it and description need to be removed. The table tennis table was so badly warped/mishappened that is was unusable. These were two things that we felt we had paid for that we simply didn't get, its not a cheap house so it was disappointing not to get the things we had paid for.

The house is a little dated on the inside, don't get me wrong it all works but its like walking into a house from the 60's/70's, a little tired and just needs to updating. The bathrooms did have a smell about them that wasn't pleasant, we have experienced this before in Spain but its usualy the drains on the outside but this was within the house, I guess again they simply need bringing up to a modern standard.

With no air conditioning we were surprised that there was only 1 fan, however when we emailed, 3 more arrived the following day.

It would have been nice if Towels were provided to use by the pool rather than having to take 7 large towels with us, at this level we have always had these in the past. Little details like no hand soap provided only two T-towels.

They do seem to have an issue with local dogs in the area, very rarely did we enjoy absolute peace and quiet as the local dogs just seemed to bark continuously and three even entered the grounds while we were there through a hole in the fence, something to be careful of if you have young children.

We did have a problem with the pool during the last week and emailed on the Wednesday to say that it was making some very loud noises but nothing was done about it. Great holiday but be aware of the above

Heaven on earth!

Beauty and tranquility set in a shallow valley surrounded by stunning views of the hills. Big warm swimming pool with comfortable sunbathing area plus plenty of shade when needed. Gardens immaculately kept. Lots to see and do in surrounding area and great restaurants in the local lively Spanish town. Coming back again next year.

Lovely Finca in picturesque setting away from it all

We had a lovely week here. I can recommend alhurin el grande village for local provisions, cakes and eating out,especially the the Sun moon chinese restaurant near supermarket. The Oranges,lemons and clementines were nice to eat or make juice with. The beds were comfortable and linens clean. The pool looked very clean but unfortunately because of the mild weather 19°c , we could not use it because it was not heated. Please bare in mind that the doors to the Finca do open they are just quite tough when turning the key in the lock. We had to use the electric heaters in the evening as it did get quite cool at night. I guess the pool is more for those staying in the mid or peak seasons when the weather is really hot, its just a real shame we couldn't use it. The Finca was kept very clean and all together it was well equipped and comfortable. Oh yes we found the washing line it's down the side of the garden near the chopped logs.

Overall we would recommend this place to all as we did have a lovely time, thanks to Elsa and Lou who responded to all my enquiries quickly.

A Sensational Villa

A few friends and I were lucky enough to stay for a week over the summer and what a fantastic week it was. This stunning villa was situated in an incredible setting, surrounded by acres of wonderful orange and lemon groves, with the backdrop of the beautiful rolling hillside in the distance.

The Villa was only a short drive from the airport which was such a blessing once we stepped out into the 35 degree heat. Even closer still was the charming local town, offering a wide range of traditional Spanish restaurants and fabulous al fresco dining. To be honest, the villa was so nice that we rarely left and didn’t get much chance to explore the town.

The villa itself offered a fantastic range of spacious accommodation with everything you could possibly need and it was all immaculately kept. The wonderful terraces to both the front and rear of the Villa provided us with ample space for barbequing, dining and entertaining or the there was always one of the of the various shaded snugs for us to quietly relax and enjoy a book.

The beautifully kept grounds provided acres of fantastic outdoor space, where we were able to stroll through the picturesque groves picking oranges, lemons, figs and almonds to go with whatever feast we were cooking up that evening. The sizeable front lawn which is enclosed by tasteful landscaping, provided a fantastic space for garden games including croquet and table tennis, all of which were provided.

…..and then there’s the pool! An immaculately presented crystal clear pool, overlooked by a stunning gazebo to provide some cover from the afternoon sun. The salt filtration pool allows you to swim all holiday without having to endure those painful chlorine eyes and the temperature was perfect. We spent much of our holiday here!

It is all too clear that the owners of the Villa make exceptional effort in creating a paradise for all that stay and they obviously have their guests best interests at the very front of their minds. As the reviews on the website are of such high quality, we had a good idea about what to expect. However, it is fair to say the we were totally blown away and that every single part of the holiday exceeded our expectations.

We would and have recommended this to so many people already and our only regret is that we didn’t stay for longer. Thank so very much for providing us with such a fantastic holiday!

bliss!!!

my husband and I booked this villa with our 3 adult children grandson and my mother it was ideal for a family holiday plenty of seating,sunbeds toilets and space for us all magnificent views private yet close to amenities the large pool was a bonus we will definitely be booking again

An amazing villa

The villa was even better than we expected, although the listings and photographs are clear, you have to visit it to experience it.

The villa is spacious and comfortable, everything that you need is provided. It is well maintained and very clean.

The setting is beautiful, surrounded by orange, lemon and almond trees, all of which we sampled….an amazing juicer available to use, fresh orange juice for breakfast on the terrace…….. it also went well with vodka in the evening. Beyond the grounds you are surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains on either side.

The pool was a really good size, also well maintained and surrounded with plenty of comfortable loungers.

I particularly enjoyed the grounds. Well thought out planting and landscaping in the large area from the villa to the pool. Beyond this you are surrounded by a large plot where all the fruit trees grow.

Excellent access to the airport and local town which has everything you need. We ate out many times, restaurants recommend by the owner, these did not disappoint..

I would recommend this to anyone with no reservations.

The coast is about 20 minutes drive and there are beaches at Torremolinos where the sand is fine, the beaches clean and the seawater crystal clear. Parking is provided and there are numerous places to eat and drink on and alongside the beach, some are 'beach clubs' with waiter service and music.

For the more energetic there are plenty of beach sport amenities available.

Travel:

Malaga Airport is about 25 minutes’ drive away and car hire is essential.

Distances:

The ‘pueblo’ of La Alquería is about 3 minutes’ drive away and has two bars/restaurants and a shop. The towns of Alhaurín El Grande and Alhaurín de la Torre are 7 & 10 minutes’ drive away respectively. They have charming plazas, white washed houses and narrow winding streets, numerous bodegas, cafés, tapas & late-night bars, & traditional Spanish restaurants, as well as supermarkets, banks, doctors, etc. Enjoy their frequent fiestas & festivals (flamenco, jazz, Holy Week, etc.) & local cuisine.

Further Details:

Plaza Mayor Shopping centre is about 25 minutes’ drive away and has a wide selection of shops such as Zara, H&M, Levis’, etc., as well as bars and a multi-cinema complex and bowling alley.
