The Dene, Alfriston

The house is extremely well equipped and very comfortable. We were a party of 6 adults and 4 children, cooking our pre-Christmas lunch proved very straight forward in the well equipped kitchen.

The property was a joy to be in. it was as described but even nicer..... we were well placed to go to the coast and we walked from the house on some lovely rural hikes. it is a very well-presented and maintained property.

Fabulous house

  • 5 of 5

Lovely village (pubs, tea shops and pretty church green) and fabulous house!! There was plenty of room for our group of 11. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Large comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen, lots of seating in both the living and dining room and a very pretty garden. Our group of friends rent a house at the same time every year and this is one of the most comfortable, clean and spacious properties that we have stayed in, The owner Michael was easy to deal with.....prompt in responding to our enquiries, quick to return our security deposit and helpful with all of our questions. We loved the cake, chocolates and magazines that were left for us and we would not hesitate to return or to recommend the house to others. Come and stay won't be disappointed.

The East Sussex coast is 4 miles away- you can walk there alongside the Cuckmere River, or along the South Downs Way, or drive to the beautiful white cliffs and beaches at Birling Gap and Beachy Head. The nearest coastal town is Seaford. Eastbourne and Brighton are easily accessible either by car, bus or from the nearest train station, Berwick (2 miles). Newhaven harbour, which has a direct ferry service to Dieppe is 20 minutes away by car.
