The Dene offers luxury self-catering accommodation in a 300 year old Grade II listed house. Set in the historic village of Alfriston, The Dene is ideally located to exploring the beautiful East Sussex countryside and the South Downs National Park. Large enough for up to 12 guests, The Dene is an ideal house in which to relax and enjoy your holiday. The house has central heating, and an wood-burning stove in the sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, dishwasher, oven, tumble drier and washing machine. Linen and towels are provided. Guests will enjoy the central location in Alfriston as the house is a short walk from the many fantastic independent shops and restaurants and the Old Clergy House, which is the National Trust's first property bought in 1896 for £10! Alfriston is near many attractions- the opera house at Glyndebourne is nearby, as well as Drusillas Zoo, The English Wine Centre, and the smallest Church in England, situated in Lullington.

Fabulous house

Lovely village (pubs, tea shops and pretty church green) and fabulous house!! There was plenty of room for our group of 11. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Large comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen, lots of seating in both the living and dining room and a very pretty garden. Our group of friends rent a house at the same time every year and this is one of the most comfortable, clean and spacious properties that we have stayed in, The owner Michael was easy to deal with.....prompt in responding to our enquiries, quick to return our security deposit and helpful with all of our questions. We loved the cake, chocolates and magazines that were left for us and we would not hesitate to return or to recommend the house to others. Come and stay here.....you won't be disappointed.

Up two steps to lawn with herbaceous border. Gate to car park and corridor (with clothes lines) to garage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided. The property is cleaned before arrival, and at the end of your stay after you have checked out. If the booking is for 2 weeks or more, a change of linen is provided. Maid service is available on request at an addtional cost. Other: The large sunny conservatory has comfortable seating to relax in, and there is a desk with wifi access for working.
