My daughter, 7 year old grand-daughter and I had an absolutely wonderful weeks holiday. The accommodation was first class as was the site as a whole. The location to get out and about in both Devon & Cornwall was first class. The reception staff were helpful and cheery. The free access to the nearby indoor swimming pool and leisure facilities was a real bonus.

We could find no fault at all and would not hesitate to book again. It was really good value for money

Very nice resort, some minor down sides

  • 4 of 5

Friendly and helpful staff, nice and small resort. The only downside I can think of is the unreliable Wi-Fi and the motorway close by, but the sound from that dies down during the night. The use of a close by leisure club is included and an excellent fall back option in case of bad weather.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments, the team at Crylla Valley Cottages always strive to be friendly and helpful so we appreciate your compliments. Our accommodation is very conveniently located at the gateway to Cornwall, just off the A38 and exceptionally easy to find. Many of our guests view this as a huge positive which brings them back year after year. There's so much more to explore from where we are and it's so easy to venture out for the day whether it be to visit one of the lovely Cornish fishing villages such as Looe or Polperro, perhaps head across to the North Cornish Coast to Polzeath, Padstow or Newquay and of course you have the added bonus of being able to hop over the border in to Plymouth and Devon. We have sorted the Wi-Fi, a simple reset was all that was required, thank you for letting us know about that. It's great that you have mentioned the leisure club as this is such a big bonus to a stay with us at Crylla Valley, an addition to a self-catering holiday in Cornwall that is difficult to find anywhere else. The indoor pool, Aqua Spa and gym at the club are particular highlights, great facilities whatever the weather and whatever time of year you are visiting.

The cottage was a 2 bedroom with a lovely lounge/dining room with enough chairs etc for 6. All spotlessly clean and very comfortable, my son in particular enjoyed the large TV for hooking his Xbox up to. The kitchen had everything you could imagine including washing machine, dishwasher (and tablets for it) and all mod cons, usually when you go away there is something you use at home but is not there on holiday, but not here, everything was included, also plenty of crockery etc, not 4 mugs, 4 knives etc, I think there was 8 of everything, which is good if you are using the dishwasher. Reception was very helpful and friendly although I only went in once but they gave me a good map. Outside there is a lovely grassed area with a net, swingball etc set up and then another fenced area for toddlers with ride on cars, slides etc all in all very nice and caters for all. The local pub which you can walk to (just outside the gate) is the Notter Bridge, is good, local beers and reasonable food, and very friendly. Not far away was the Copley Arms which is also very nice and good food. Loads of places to visit in Plymouth and surroundings, we in particular fell in love with Looe.

Never mind recommending it to a friend (which I would) I will be going back myself.

Home from Home

  • 5 of 5

Valley View Cottage was "Home from Home" and could not be faulted. We were upgraded, which was a surprise and much appreciated as they thoughtfully took note of our requirements regarding a 17' kayak and parking it out of sight! It was ideally located for our travel plans. Thanks to Anne & Boss who were very helpful. We highly recommend Crylla and would definitely stay here again.
